Average motel for the price. Rooms are heated with radiators, which were very noisy. The room was dusty when we arrived & never got dusted during our 3 day stay. Good location, though off the main street. We were afraid we weren't going to get a cab to the train station when we left so we had to walk, with our luggage about a 1/2 block in the dark.

I felt confident that staying at a Comfort Inn would give me a comfortable environment. I was wrong. I have stayed at other Comfort Inns but this was bad.The rooms were dusty and dingy. The view looked directly into the other rooms at the hotel. The service was bad. There is only one small elevator for everyone maids included. The only good thing was the kingness of the bell man named Sam. If I hadn't gotten sick while I was there I would have moved to another hotel. There was no heat in the hotel, they gave me a floor heater to use.

Like many NY hotels, the Comfort Inn squeezes a lot into a tall skinny space. This translates into small rooms, a minute exercise gym, and tiny bathrooms. But it works, primarily because it has big-hearted employees who really want to please you. A very good place to return to, whether you are on your own or with others. Excellent value for the money.

Very safe location in a great neighborhood. Small room, but private bathroom. Clean.

The room was TINY but if you are at Central Park West in Manhatten, you better not be spending time in your room unless you are showering, having a bowel movement, or sleeping. If that is what you are there for, it is definately worth it!

The rooms were very small and breakfast room was always overcrowded, however you can't fault the location right next to Central Park and the subway, in a nice area. How much time do you soend in your room in NYC anyway? I'd stay there again

Room was cramped but very quiet, and we weren't planning on doing anything but sleeping here anyway. The location was perfect - across from Central Park and very close to several major subway lines. Breakfast was crowded, but nice. We would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are small but clean with nice bathrooms. With breakfast thrown in this is a great Manhattan hotel deal.

+ The room is ok and the location is great for the money - The included breakfast was horrible. Not much choice, no space to sit down in the room - only a few chairs are available - The front-desk-personal was a little bit confused - The elevetor is a way too slow

The hotel has 14 floors but only one elevator. At 9 am you will spend 30 min just to get from your room ( I was at the 12th floor)to the lobby. And forget about breakfast, the line is unreal and very small area to eat, if you make it, the breakfast it's not good at all. But there is many restaurants around and central park is one block away. My complain is really the elevator!Otherwise is a fair hotel.

This was my third time staying in thi hotel. I was very disappointed. The security llatch on the door was broken off, the compluter in lobby did not work and breakfast was not set up to time. Just not happy this time.

The size of the room did not allow room to put any luggage. Two people were extremely cramped. Bed was not completely full size. The bath/shower was smaller than any hotel in Europe!! Even the lower price was not worth the time it took to always take the subway anywhere. West of Central Park is not close to anything!!

This hotel is located on the Upper West Side, very nice and safe. Only a couple of stops on the train from all the excitement of Manhattan. Room is very small, but definitely works if you're not spending most of your day in it, which you shouldn't be. Could use a little more cleaning, but I'm a neat freak, so it wasn't bad at all. Staff was very nice. After 5 minutes of getting into my room, the manager called to make sure everything in the room was to my liking -- that had never happened to me before!

The hotel is tucked away in a really nice neighborhood, close to lots of restaurants on the upper west side. It's a short walk to the park and Columbus Circle. Our room was small but adequate and super clean. The staff were very friendly. all in all a very satisfactory experienece.

Great free breakfast, closes to Central Park, metro and buses. Staff very helpful. Wide varity of resyaurants les than a block away. Rooms are small and elevator is slow. At those prices, who cares?

I expected a tiny room being in NYC, but this was so so small... not even a small desk in the room, just one chair... and when you open the door, bump straight into the bed... the location was EXCELLENT, though. Right next to Central Park, in a very pleasant neighborhood. The hotel could be cleaner, the sheets did not look that great, and the towels were really work out, too.. there were hairs everywhere... in the tub, on the floor... in bed :( Next time, I'll splurge and stay at a ***, like I did for the following 3 nights (Hotel Metro), which was REALLY NICE :)

Smallest hotel room ever but it was clean and safe.

Hotel location excellent. Lobby and front desk area small and busy but our room was very nice and clean. Would definitely stay again if we can get a good price.

Great Upper West Side location. The neighborhood is mostly residential which gives you a living like a local feel. The room was small but clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

I was very pleased for the price. The double bed took up most of the room, but the room still had everything I needed and the location was perfect for my needs. The free breakfast was a bonus.

Location was excellent, but to be brutally honest, our room was GROSS! First, it stunk like a wet rag because of lack of ventilation in the bathroom and the decor was from the 70's and even our drapes seemed to be hanging crooked....looked like a quick clean-up was made. I almost didn't want to stay, but the price was right so I just toughed it out. Personally, I'd rather pay more for a decent room at another hotel next time!

I was very satisfied with this hotel. Nice location, clean, etc...I got a great deal on it and it was worth it. I'd stay here again.

I literally had a claustrophobic panic attack when I saw the 10ft. by 8ft. cave that was to be our room. It was so small you couldn't even walk around the bed. It literally felt like a jail cell. On top of that the surrounding doors would slam so loud they would startle you every time they closed. Do not stay here unless you don't mind undersized rooms and loud banging noises.

Location is great, half a block from Central Park, easy walk to subway & buses. Hotel staff was courteous and friendly. The good news ends there. Hotel is in serious need of a renovation, rooms were cramped, dark and dingy. Breakfast room was crowded, "exercise room" was a joke - one bike & one elliptical machine.

Hotel over all is clean, well kept with all the amenities of a large hotel. The rooms are small, suggest you get a room with a king size bed if you want some space. Hotel's location is excellent,near Central Park and has parking down the street. If you are looking for a place to just sleep this hotel meets the bill.

Great design for small space. Very good breakfast. Good location. Some equipment needs improvements: - TV didn't work; - AC is old and too noisy; - TV better to be installed using wall braket. This hotel is going my favorite for next trip to Manhattan.

We had a bad trip to NYC. As a traveler you need help from the front desk and they were hard to understand due to the language barrier and just pushed us to the side. They did not answer any of our questions and when we asked about parking they gave us a misquote on a parking fee and we ended up paying $80 for two days parking. The room was small but comfortable. If you have been to NYC before this might be an okay hotel.

Nice little hotel, good price for the location. Right outside of Central Park, walking distance to fabulous restaurants and shops. There's a parking garage 2 blocks down or one the next block over...tough to find in Manhattan. Very small rooms, but you get your own bathroom!

our stay at the comfort inn was great! we were able to get free parking overnight on the street while still feeling safe. the rooms are small just like all the other reviews say, and there is only one elevator and it is slow. however for the price and the location you cant beat it. the desk staff was very helpful and patient with us. we would definatly stay here again!!!

Overall great bargain! Room was neat and clean and extremely affordable in comparison with other hotel choices. Space was tight and mildly uncomfortable at times, especially for breakfast, but easily overlooked given the savings. Numerous choices for continental breakfast - very nice! Easy walking distance to Central Park, Lincoln Center, Broadway, and even Museum Mile on the east side. Would DEFINITELY stay again.

Great price and location. Very small. One elevator for 12 floors and only fits about 6 people so there was a long wait during busy time. Lamps were dusty. A/C was cold...bonus. The bathroom included the toilet(broken seat so it shifted side to side), a sink, and a stand up shower...all in a 3feet by 6.5 area!! Very small. If you just need a place to sleep and show and have no more than 2 people, it was great!!!

my back still hurts from those beds, the bathroom is the size of a closet, and dont forget anything because they will not be helpful with products or bringing anything to your room

I think that Manhattan is the most excluxive area from NY City, so the hotel gives you the oportunity to be there with all the plassures of it, at a very low price. I surelly will be back.

Our stay at the Comfort Inn was excellent. The location was great for going anywhere in the city. And the staff was quite accommodating to our needs. The Continental breakfast had a excellent selection and was a real bargain. We would stay there again without any question.

I stayed at this hotel because I'm looking for an apartment in the Upper West Side and needed a hotel that was nearby. It is a typical New York budget hotel, I suppose--the building was old and only had one elevator and the room was tiny. Still, it was comfortable enough and not seedy, which is always a concern. The location is great if you like being near Central Park and the Lincoln Center. For most tourists, I would think Midtown would be preferable, but you can certainly get most places by Subway. The only problem is that getting across town (to the museums, for example) is a little bit tricky.

I would stay here again without question. From reading other reviews, I expected a tiny room and a slow elevator. The room was quite adequate...I stayed at a very expensive hotel in San Francisco once that had a MUCH smaller room for about twice the money. Everything was clean and in working order. There is only one elevator and lots of floors, so, yeah, you have to wait for the elevator. I was on the fourth floor, so sometimes took the stairs. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The location is very convenient. The service is very good. The room is quite acceptable for the price. I would not hesitate in recommending it for a short stay.
