The Allerton Hotel on Magnificent Mile - Chicago

Embora tudo parecesse limpo...todo dia aparecia uma barata no quarto!! Talvez o serviço de dedetização precise ser renovado. O quarto é pequeno, embora tenham me dito que o meu era o menor do hotel (?!). Localização absolutamente fantástica!

Pessimo serviço de recepçao ,sujo,compramos apto duplo,mas a cama era p\ 01 pessoa. Nao recomendo

O The Allerton hotel(apesar de caro)tem uma otima localização,bem na parte nobre da Michigan avenue,funcionarios super amaveis,otimo serviço,limpo,seguro,confortavel.Eu recomendo.

Muito boa surpresa... A localização é excelente, funcionarios simpáticos e serviço da housekeeping ótimo tbem! Recomendadíssimo!

Renewed hotel, very good location and price, excelent room, good Business Center with free internet and printer, nice staff. Definetely recommended. Everything worked fine and I have no complaints at all. Just be aware of the prices of the minibar and parking, they are very expensive!

O Hotel Allerton tem a principal vantagem a ótima localização em Chicago. Próximo a shopping center, conveniências, lojas e pontos turísticos. Apresenta uma arquitetura antiga, com seus quartos reformados e aconchegantes, apesar de MUITO pequenos. No site cita cama queen size mesmo no ap petite, o que não é verdade, e sim uma cama standart. You can't beat the location of the Allerton on the Mich. mile. We had a Water Tower view which was nice, room was smaller than I expected but perfectly fine. One major drawback--the inroom pay movies were like $15 (and they weren't even really good ones). Room was cute but VERY SMALL bathroom was filthy hair in shower and on floor and toilet had urine on and around it. Coasters had sticky goop on them and alarm clock looked as though it had not been cleaned in months. The room was very dusty which did not bode well with my allergies! The evening valet was very nice but all morning staff were grumpy and […] valet person who brought my car had turned the radio up very loud to a station I wouldn't have ever listened to, then was rude! We recently enjoyed a New Year's stay at the Allerton. An absolutely perfect location on Michigan Ave. with very friendly and helpful staff! The room (we booked a double/queen and were given a double) was adequate, not too big but fit two people and our things comfortably. However, the room was ready two hours after check-in time on our day of arrival. […] Also, the TV did not turn on when we arrived. The hotel staff were quick to compensate with a light breakfast the following day and send a maintenance engineer quickly to resolve the TV issue. Great hotel in a great location. Only complaints are that parking was expensive and the wait to get into the hotel room was ridiculously long. Otherwise, everything was perfect!

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Allerton Hotel. This is the second time I stayed here, with the first experience being better. It would have been nice to not have a view of only a brick wall. The location is one of the best there is. We spent a lot of time shopping since the weather wasn't great, so the convenience of being 2 blocks from Water Tower […] Place was nice! The only other complaint I have is that we asked for more towels and we never got them. They apologized and seemed sincere, which was good enough for me. Leia mais

Overall a nice hotel with a very courteous facility. Only issue I found was the tv's. Although I only used it in the morning and evening, the reception was sub-par at best. Where the tv was placed made it difficult to see, and any movement of it affected the recepition. Besides that, I was very comfortable during my stay.

It's very apparent that they worked very hard on making the rooms as small as possible, for instance the door lock missed the opposite wall by 1/4". You might be thinking that sounds cozy, until you lay down in the bed, and you actully feel the springs poking you in the back "Very Uncomfortable".

Checked us in to a room that had not been made up. Switched us to a regular room instead of our prepaid suite. Switched us to a 3rd room where the door key didn't work. Final room was okay, but bathtub plug didn't work. Bell staff was helpful. I felt badly that I didn't have change when he helped load our bags at 430am to head to Midway.

If you are looking for a large room, this hotel is not for you. The rooms are very botique, but I think that adds to the hotel. It is a big city hotel right in the heart of Chicago's best attractions. If shopping is your thing, you can be from your room to a store in less than 5 minutes. Had room service for breakfast and it was great. Staff was wonderful […] as well. If the wife/girlfriend wants a shopping spree, then guys, you will get huge points by choosing this hotel. Shop all day and then head to the top of the Hancock building for an evening nightcap. Anything you need within 2 blocks. Leia mais

Stayed here with my wife and infant daughter for 3 nights in December 2011. Room was fairly large, although it became much smaller after the crib arrived. The crib was metal, much like the cribs in hospitals in the 1950's, with a very thin mattress. Our 1 yr old daughter had trouble getting comfortable in the crib and didn't sleep well during our stay. […] The bathroom is really, really small, similar to the size of a large hallway closet. Very little shelf space in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, although the pillows were a bit flat. Room had 2 flat screen tvs, which were nice. Interestingly, the elevators were very, very small, almost claustophobic. All in all, I would stay here again if I were alone. But, I wouldn't stay here with my family. Leia mais

My girlfriend and I stayed here and had an amazing time! The location is absolutely perfect. Litterally the only thing we have to complain about is that the fan in the bathroom is really really loud.

Overall, the hotel is a nice old hotel. It is in a great location for shopping and very near the hospital. Rooms could stand to be updated and it would be nice to have coffee in the room; not have to go downstairs to get it.

I was on the 11th floor and it was constantly loud outside. I could hear all the honking cabbies and traffic. Also, the room is well insulated from noise on the inside. I could hear doors slamming in the hallway and my neighbors moving about in their rooms. For a hotel on the magnificent mile, this place was mediocre at best. We recently stayed as a family of four at Hotel Allerton. All exceeded expectation - decor, service, food and of course location. We wanted something in the Magnificent mile and obtained a great rate via hotels.com. The gentleman who checked us in upgraded our room to a larger one with no request from us and no extra charge. The room was fantastic - […] spacious, clean, great bathroom and no traffic or street noise ( we were on the sixth floor). We loved having cocktails in the hip but small lounge and had great room service. It was fine with the children, and the only complaint was the slowness of elevators during busy periods. Hmmm... You have to PAY for internet access!!!? Frayed carpet, cracked floor tiles in bathroom. Classy! Tiny elevators, impossible to get on one going up during peak times unless you start from first floor. I had to descend from front desk on 2nd floor to ground floor to be able to go up to my room. The doormen (plural) stand around yakking about football […] as they watch you try to open the door while juggling your luggage. But, at least the room was bigger than a breadbox, and the parking garage next door only charges 48 dollars a night. Be sure to tip the valet to avoid the dirty look. Leia mais

We chose the Allerton for a change from the traditional chain hotels. We were excited for the old school charm and personality and we were not disappointed. I loved the classy, character of the building and the decor that was true to the age of the building yet very contemporary. Very enjoyable stay. Friendly staff. Great location. The room was small but the hotel does not nickel and dime you like the Hilton or the Palmer House.

A had a room with a queen bed and was staying here on business for a week. The only downside is that there are not enough elevators for peak times and a you might need to wait a few minutes to get on one then .Overall a nice full service hotel.

While I loved the location, and the decor is lovely, I found myself in a tiny room with a dank smell, a sink that didn't drain properly, a leaky toilet, and a non-functioning hair dryer.

My husband and I stayed at The Allerton for a weekend getaway. The location was awesome. We were able to walk to everything. The hotel staff was very nice and check in/check out were hassle free. The rooms are small but the feel is historic, not cramped. Friendly staff, updated rooms, clean. Rooms were a little on the small side and the elevators were tiny but everything else made up for it. We were extremely happy with our stay and would stay there again if we didn't have a car. It was $48 to park overnight there and only $24 to park at the W nearby.

The hotel was well priced, and very centrally located, being on the Magnificent Mile. The staff were friendly and the concierge very helpful. However, the room was just too tiny. There was free wifi in the lobby.

The bed was 20 years old with a wire frame and slopped to the side (probably due to its age). Worst night sleep ever! The TV in the room was not in front of the bed, rather to the side and almost behind the bed. Hard to explain, but you literally had to sit in bed and look over your left shoulder to watch the TV. I visit Chicago 2 times a year to do nothing but shop. Every time I go I try to stay at a different hotel. The location of the Allerton is great but that was the only positive thing I can say.The rooms are small- ours actually didn't even have a closet! The elevators are extremely slow and to top it all off the windows are so thin we were up all night […] with sirens and the garbage disposal noises. This is hotel is right on Michigan Ave. so if you value convenience then this is not bad. But the rooms are so small for the price ( I got the standard not the petite room). Even then 2 people would bump into each other when they move around.
