The place is great. Rooms are fantastic. Staff is great. Bar is cool . Great surrounding area.

nicest guys outside place. pretty good location. good quick walking to most stuff. can leave car whole weekend parked except for museums, take bus NOT TAXI. Love Chicago. When is it gonna snow.

We visit Chicago as a family on a somewhat regular basis. We've stayed in many different hotels and consider The Hotel Sax one of our best stays yet! The staff was incredibly helpful. The room size was very ample for our whole family. Clean. Convenient location for all the venues we headed to.

Reserved a room last minute for New Years at a decent price. Easy parking and check in and out. The interior designing of the entire hotel was spectacular from the lobby and loung, to the halls , to the room. The Sax Staff was very hospitable and friendly throughout stay, room was Nice but bathroom had chipping paint and rust stains on ceiling above tub. Overall nice hotel just a little out of way from shopping district and theatres.

I came into Chicago for two nights on a train trip from Iowa to Michigan. The train was seven hours late getting in and it was great to have a room ready for me a short cab ride from Union Station. I'm a walker, and the Sax was very convenient for every destination I had in mind. I felt safe walking in the neightborhood even late at night. The staff […] was very helpful and the room service breakfast was great. I agree with other reviews that some of the furnishings need some sprucing up, but they are not dated. They are "funky" or "expressive" or even "steam punk" and not to everyone's taste, but it is a unique design approach that I enjoyed. Ler mais

This is my favorite go-to hotel in the city. Close to everything, great decor, bar in lobby is swanky and always can find a great deal. Have stayed multiple times and haven't had a complaint yet.

The staff at Sax was incredibly helpful and polite in all aspects. They fixed a small problem with the shower immediately and had no problems extending our check out time to 1:30pm. Everyone was great. Should also mention, since I didn't see it anywhere, that our King Deluxe room had a shower/bathtub and was not just shower-only.

I think this is a really good hotel. It is close to everything you want to look at, except perhaps Navy Pier, and the staff is very friendly. They even lend us an umbrella when it was raining, free of charge. The only downside, I would say, is that it doesn´t include brakfast, and it is hard to find a cheap breakfast nearby.

Great hotel and a great price, near good restaurants and night lifestyle. The only complaint is the parking price 52$ other than that I was very happy all the way around

Nice Location hotel is a little chaffed. Only 1 chair in the room made getting comfortable difficult and parking at $52 a night hurt. Room was clean and there was lots of things near by

this hotel was fantastic- I have recommended it to friends. The bar area is unique and allows for many people to be in separate spaces - fabulous design and warm, friendly and helpful staff- this is a treat! Easy to get to restaurants and sights/ theater in Chicago

the room was too cold so they said it was fixed ,came home around midnight and room was too hot , slept with the window open all night, then told them in the morning and they said ,oh i'm really sorry

This hotel is in an excellent location and can just about walk to most attractions in the downtown area. Staff was exceptionally helpful.

Stayed here for a business trip and couldn't ask for friendlier service. The hotel staff was very accodomating and I had interaction with at least 4-5 staff in the 2 days I stayed. Great service. Location is great for shopping & eateries too.

Hotel was just ok. Nothing really stood out for me as being great. Everything about the experience was just average.

The Sax Chicago is so conveniently located to restaurants, bars and entertainment. We walked to Andy's Jazz Club for some wonderful live jazz. The hotel is very clean and spacious rooms, including the bathroom. We loved the atmosphere, and even enjoyed dancing at the Crimson lounge after a night out on the town!

Great location. It was pricey about everything , snack,room services, parking. They do not provide a coffee maker in rooms nor in the lobby ,cheap.

All in all, enjoyed this hotel very much. Only complaint was the $25 "hotel credit" that wound up unused. Were told you could use at Bin 36 restaurant next door. Tried to use it there and they wanted a voucher the hotel didn't supply. Bin 36 mgr. called Sax desk to get authorization to use credit but they were told we had to go back to front desk before […] checkout to get credit. We did this but were denied when the front desk told us we had to have charged our meal to our room in order to get the credit, which no one had told us was the case. In the end, they wouldn't give us the credit. Other than that, a cool, comfortable place to stay. Ler mais

We were very pleased with the comfort, cleanliness and location of the Hotel Sax. It is centrally located downtown near all of the activities we wanted to attend. I would recommend this hotel to a friend based on location and value.

The Sax staff is very accommodating and the location is great. The gym is small and serves a basic purpose of getting in a quick workout. The room was fantastic and I was able to get an early check in. I would stay here again.

The Sax was completely satisfactory for an overnight stay. The decor was not my taste but I could appreciate the quirkiness of it. My favorite aspect was the "Blues Brothers" attire of the men behind the desk. For those wishing to experience true Chicago Blues atmosphere this was it! Pros: Friendly staff. Great location. Our room overlooked the River. Bathroom is very spacious, modern and clean. Beds are comfortable and warm. Big flat screen tv, modern alarm/radio clock with the capability to connect your Ipod/mp3/smart phone to it. Plenty of towels and large mirrors both in the room and the bathroom. Cons: Valet parkers were not […] helpful in directing us to a self-park parking lot. Had to call the hotel for information and we were directed to parking lot over 2 blocks away. Had to pay extra for Wi-Fi. The room were equiped with snacks and a mini bar but prices were ridiculously expensive ($6 for a bottle of water) No coffee maker. Pillows were too small and flat. Beside the beds, the room had only 1 chair available which was small, uncomfortable and worn out. I recommend this hotel for a short stay like a overnight stay but not for a longer one. Ler mais

I found the Sax only because of its high rating on hotels.com. For anyone looking for a classy high-end hotel with unique character in the middle of Chicago, I can highly recommend it.

A great hotel within walking distance of pretty much everything.

Had a great stay at the Sax - Chicago to celebrate a 27th wedding anniverssary. Was upgraded immediately to a very spacious suite upon arrival. Room was clean and city view was enjoyable. Would stay again, but try to avoid the $52.00 parking. Crimson Nightclub very cool.

Overall, my stay in the Sax was fine. But, unless they keep the significantly-discounted rate I got, I wouldn't recommend it over similar hotels in the area. My room was large and comfortable and the service was fine. But the closet was too small for me to open my hanging garment-bag suitcase, and my pants came away covered in dust after I laid them […] over the top of a chair.
