this hotel need a lot of work and repair...the pool was not working the toilets were not working and the paint seemed to be peeling off the walls this needs a lot of tlc to become even a 1/2 decent hotel. not worth the price.

Air conditioning units were installed to push hot air into hallways instead of outside. Probably a fire hazard. Room was very small with a couple of uncomfortable pillows. Basic amenities like an ice bucket and shampoo were not provided. Hallways have a strange musty smell to them.

Great last minute deal and close to downtown fun but don't take your shoes off.

it was supposed to be a days inn that was changed the outside was nice, inside the walls were falling down, the carpet smelled terrible!!!!!! a lady outside told us not to stay there. she had bad experience there. i went in to see for myself. she was right . they only refunded me half of my money, but it was worth not staying there

This hotel is a convenient five minute drive to downtown Detroit and a nice walk from Chene Park but it is very misleading in its claims to have been remodeled. The furniture is all secondhand, and my mom had to request a clean shower curtain as ours had mold. The rooms are very hard to maneuver around in because of the way the furniture is set up, […] and toiletries are limited to one very cheap offbrand bar of soap. But surprisingly, the staff was very friendly, and they were very attentive to our concerns and requests, which made the stay bearable. Just be wary if you choose this hotel, because some of the guests looked quite questionable, and the door has one flimsy chain lock, deadbolts did not work at all. Was not as bad as I expected it to be! It is not a nice family vacation type place to stay. But, if you are looking for a place to crash with your friends during DEMF, it's perfect. It is only 2 miles from Hart Plaza (where DEMF is). We walked to the festival and took a cab back. The cab was $10 one night and $15 the next. Not bad at all.

The rooms are behind a wall so you cannot see outside. The plumbing doesn't work properly so I had to switch rooms 3 or 4 times in a 24 hour period in order to be able to get hot water. On employee actually got upset that I was bothering him to get hot water in my room. This place is in an unsafe area, it is on the outskirts of downtown not downtown. […] On one occasion a started getting harassed by a man who though I might know exactly where he could buy narcotics when I was walking over to the CVS pharmacy next to the hotel. After calling ahead and being told an early check in was ok, we were told on arrival it was NOT ok. So we were then told a LATE check in would be ok. So, we went on with our day. We came back several minutes before midnight and the clerk couldn't find our paperwork. By the time he finally did, it was 12:02 am and he then told us that we lost the room […] because it was officially the next day! After a heated exchange where he blamed us for being late, even though it said "late check in ok" on our paperwork(!), he went on to say that the reservation was for the previous day because it was two minutes past midnight by the time he found our papers. He had to call someone and then argued on the phone that he "shouldn't HAVE TO" give us the room! After a half hour of this, he begrudgingly gave us the room. It was disgusting! A large patch of black mold on the shower ceiling, no towels, no soap, it smelled awful, there was no remote for the tv, the smoke alarm kept chirping loudly every thirty seconds, the wall fan squealed loudly, the pillows stunk, there were holes in the bathroom door...it was the worst! This was ABSOLUTLY the worst hotel in the city pf Detroit, there was no heat in the room no toiletries as promised no free wireless, accomadations was very dirty the always were noisy and congested shady area shady hotel

Not an actual stay inn its a boofoo stay in of america. Place is a dump motel with a pool that never opens

From the moment we left the car to go check in, we were all on edge. Now don't get me wrong, I believe that every human shouldn't be stereotyped, but it was testing my personal limits when me and my children were the only white people in the building. After more than 20 minutes, waiting for the attendant to find us a suitable room, we opened the door […] to garbage and dirty towels to no "free wi-fi" as advertised. We were relocated to another room and was then kept up all night from all the fighting and commotion outside within the halls. I mean COME ON, its not very relaxing when your room has three locks on it. There was no soap in the room and the room was tidied, not cleaned. There wasn't any clean towels or big enough towels for us to use to even take a shower with. My only respite was that we were only there because we had to catch the train first thing in the morning. My kids got about two hours of sleep and I didn't sleep at all. Leia mais

This was the ABSOLUTE WORST Hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was small and dirty, there were gang bangers wandering the halls, our car got broken into during the night. We were afraid of getting robbed the whole time. Terrible neighborhood, awful customer service. When we went to the front desk about the break in, the guy at the desk could hardly […] speak English and did NOTHING. Would never even consider coming back to this hotel and maybe even Detroit as a whole. AWFUL!!!!!!! Leia mais

Hang out spot for the young people because of the pool. Hourly rates for the oldest profession in the world.

Noise all through the night. Bad neighborhood. Room was dirty.

It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Bed bugs, no hot water,leaks, smelly.I had reservations for 2 nights but checked out very early on the 2nd day.I would not suggest this hotel to anyone.

My tolite was not clean and requested some one clean it at 1:00 p.m. I returned to my room at 6:00 p.m. and it was still unsanitary.

It was very nice and friendly

This hotel is horrible. Not worth the money I paid for it. The rooms smelled, there was nothing to take a bath with other than towels. The location was horrible. To top it off, there were policemen trying to settle a domestic dispute.

Personel was friendly the rooms are what you pay for a place to rest your head, no extras Bring a alarm clock none in the room, towels and pillows very small. it was only a 10 dollar cab ride to the ball park, casino ect

This was a very weird hotel. First of all, this is all graded on a curve. This is a no-name inner-city hotel in an out-of-the-way location. I was not expecting anything fancy, or pretty. And that's good: because I didn't get it. I'm going to start from the inside out. The room was clean. In fact, it was very clean: I honestly could not find anything […] to complain about, and I looked. Tub, toilet, floor, everything was clean. The room had no smell of smoke. There were very few amenities: two double beds. Two small towels, a floor mat, a washcloth or two. Soap and shampoo packets. A small TV with a dozen channels. That's it. The hotel used to have outside hallways. They have since enclosed the hallways, but the rooms still have large plexi-glass windows that open into the hallway. So be it: close the curtains. It was a little odd, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The public areas, though, were very different. They were dirty: the floors looked like they had not been vacuumed or washed in *weeks*. No sign of bugs or vermin, but not well maintained. Also, there were a *ton* of other rooms that were torn up. Not quite being demolished for renovation, but torn up: furniture askew, no carpet, etc. Finally, the outside of the building. This too was very nice: it's a brick exterior, and the building surrounds the parking lot. The parking lot was small, but clean, and there was enough parking seeing as many of the rooms were not rentable. The little bit where I had to deal with the staff was reasonable. No complaints there. We did not go to the pool, but heard several people walking back from the pool say how cold it was. Finally, during the night, there was a great deal of commotion: people running up and down the halls, yelling down the hall, etc. Like I said, this was a cheap inner-city hotel. It wasn't a close to downtown as I expected, but outside of that it was pretty decent.

The hotel was very close to the Festival I was attending. The housekeeper was very nice!! However, the guy at check-in was very RUDE with me. He asked how many people would be staying in the room & I told him that it would be 2 couples(4 people) Since that was what I had booked the room for.I was then told that if anyone else was seen in the room, (Because […] they have cameras) I would be KICKED OUT without a refund!! Now I understand that a hotels needs to be able to know how many people are staying over, but I really felt that this guy was trying to threaten me!! This is an inexpensive hotel, with the minimal qualities for a hotel stay. Had somewhat of a smoky smell that we got used to after being in the room for 5 minutes...and the blanket was exceedingly thin. Cable TV and clean bathrooms though- it was fine.

We payed the money to have an "executive suite" as the front desk clerk called it, and when we got into our room there was mold growing on the ceiling right above the bed. Not to mention, there was really nothing "executive" about this room. Also, the second night we were there, they rented the suite next to us to a family of about 10 people. All night […] the adults were up screaming obscienities at each other and what sounded like physical fighting. Not to mention, they were in the hallway screaming and banging on our door half the night. My husband and I were literally scared for our lives and we did not sleep one bit the entire night. In the morning, we had to sneak out of our room to check out while those people were still in theirs because we did not want them to see us and realize we were next door all night. Our room was just okay, but the pool was surprisingly pretty and had a coffee shop where you could order at a window attached. Our kids liked the pool and whirlpool in the room.

Although the hotel was close to the casinos that we intended to visit, the hotel and parking area were secluded in a back lot and we almost missed the entrance. The price for the room was extremely affordable but we requested toiletries from the front desk and never received them. I would stay there again if it was just myself.

This was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in EVER, and I travel allot. From The Filthy parkinglot to the rooms everything is in disrepair,especially the halways. Check out the tub in rm.217 the pool was freezing cold I couldnt even swim. The whole place was poorly suplied.No breakfast with your stay.And not one soda in all 3 vending machines. Only […] one icemachine in the lobby for the whole place. Tiny towels.(The list would go on except thats all they had to "not offer") Not to mention,Friday nite we went out for a few hours. We returned our door was ajar....meaning open slightly. We were apauled. I emidiaty lost whatever small sense of security i may have had. Lucky for us there was nothing missing,nothing moved. I would like to note with my last remarks that we spacificly requested no housekeeping for the durration of our stay.So there would be no reason for anyone to have been in there while we were away. Anyway we endured our stay rather than enjoyed it.We were pree booked in a big city on a verry bussy show weekend.Once we got there,everywhere else was booked. Hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. When asked about the amenities that were listed on the website, we were told they were not offered. For the price, we realized it would be a basic room. But I would have brought a hair dryer and toiletries with us if I had known. Good overall value for the money.

the clerks were very nice at checking as well as checkout, the clerk in the morning could have been a little better dressed. The rooms were small with the bathrooms not real great. Big open window facing the hall and no outside windows. People running down the hall yelling during the night. Also vending maching in the halls had no diet soda.
