Overall, this hotel was a good choice for our budget, but there is definitely room for improvement. The price was great at around $55 a night, and I appreciated having a microwave and mini fridge in the room. The location was convenient, especially being close to Denny’s and Waffle House.
That said, there were several maintenance and service issues. The advertised continental breakfast was disappointing because it was basically just a small basket with diet bars. There was an old wasp nest above the screen door connected to our room, which gave the impression that upkeep was lacking. Housekeeping never came into our room during our stay to empty trash or replace towels, and we had to ask for toilet paper when we ran out.
The room had several issues: the shampoo and Kleenex dispensers were empty when we arrived, some drawers were broken, the TV remote was taped together and the batteries kept falling out, and there were dents or imperfections in the floor and ceiling. The toilet also made a strange high-pitched whistling noise when flushed. Some electrical outlets were inconveniently located, and our room key stopped working about an hour before checkout. The Wi-Fi password also changed on our last night.
Our room was on the second floor with no elevator. Some guests frequently hung around outside, which felt uncomfortable at times.
For the price, it met our needs and helped us save money, but better upkeep and attention to details would improve the experience.
