Hotel bem conservado, apesar de antigo. Excelente a localização, que é o que mais importa em viagens a turismo. Se hospedar no quarto com vista para o lago, vale muito a pena. A vista é linda... um ponto turístico só seu! Ponto contra: não tem wi-fi nos quartos (apenas no lobby, e é pago). Nos quartos, há internet (paga) via cabo. Recomendo!

No geral é muito bom o que falta é acesso a internet

TIVE UMA UNICA SITUACAO DESCONFORTAVEL NO HOTEL. DEPOIS DE CHEGAR UM DIA CANSADA E ESTAR DEITADA NA CAMA COM MEU MARIDO, OUTROS HOSPEDES RECEBERAM A CHAVE DO NOSSO QUARTO E ENTRARAM SEM CLARO SABER QUE ESTAVAMOS LA. UM ERRO DA GERENCIA COM RELACAO A QUARTOS VAGOS E LIBERACAO DOS MESMOS

Boa localizacao e belo hotel

Li vários comentários antes de comprar, pensei que fosse um lixo, mas dentro da faixa de preço de hotéis em Chicago, superou minhas expectativas.

Apesar de estar localizado em frente ao Grant Park, tem uma linha de trem que passa nos fundos do hotel e se vc tiver o azar de pegar um quarto nos fundos não vai conseguir dormir direito. Meu quarto ficava na parte interna, então achei que não teria muito problema com barulho, até que me dei conta que a bóia da caixa acoplada do vaso sanitário estava […] quebrada e a cada 5 minutos fazia um barulhão da água enchendo a caixa. Reclamar não adiantou nada pois apesar de muita compreensão e a promessa de mandar alguém pra consertar, nunca mandaram ninguém e tive que fazer uma gambiarra na bóia pra poder dormir. O quarto era grande, mas o carpete do quarto e o banheiro tinham um aspecto meio sujo... as camas eram boas, talvez por serem a única coisa mais nova no quarto junto com a TV. O quarto era muito gelado, pois nuca recebia sol direto, e apesar de fazer mais de 28o C lá fora, no quarto a temperatura não passava dos 20o.C, bom pra mim mas minha mulher e minha filha de 9 meses não gostaram nem um pouco... O hotel está muito velho e com uma manutenção precária, a localização é excelente, porém não recomendo, pois o hotel não tem qualificações saudáveis e seguras para os hóspedes.

Ele é proximo do Museu de Artes de Chicago que possui excelente acervo de pintores impressionistas, como tb é em frente ao Millenium Parck.

Como eu sabia que se tratava de um hotel antigo, não me surpreendi com alguma indisponibilidade. Fiz uma escolha consciente e pessoal.

The localization is very convenient and the bed is very comfortable. The girl in front desk gave us a room with a beautiful view to Buckingham fouintan because was our first tim in Chicago, very sweet and polite.

Confortable and good location, without services.

I stayed there because Palmer House Hilton was fully booked but I wanted to be at a hotel near it. Hot water for the shower was barely hot enough and the hotel is very old. The location is convenient, though, with the subway Red Line only a block away and the bus stop is right there on Michigan Avenue.

This hotel is disgusting. My room was dirty, there was poop in the toilet, it smelled horrible. I check out right after I checked in and asked for a full refund. Do not stay in this hotel. Picketers outside the front door because it is one if the only ones that can't get a contract negotiated. Horrible experience. No wireless internet (only wired), hot water didn't work in my room, I had to make 3 calls to eventually know which room I'm being moved to. The gym is in a dungeon in the basement, and about 200 ft2. Half the rooms have a view of the interior concrete yard. Staff was nice and helpful. This hotel is right in the middle of many Michigan Ave destinations. reviews were very accurate. older hotel in need of a remodel, but large clean rooms were well worth the price. Very friendly staff. would stay there again.

I booked this trip on hotels.com. I booked two rooms that I needed to be connecting. One with double beds the other with a king. The hotel doesn't have that as an option. So we got stuck with double beds in both rooms. They stated they would try to fix it the next day but we never heard from anyone and we had to sleep in very small uncomfortable bed. The […] condition of the rooms was horrible. I realize the hotel is old but my kids couldn't stop laughing at the patch repairs in the walls. Our bathtub and sink didn't drain. When we were down with the shower we had to get the soap off our feet but running them under the faucet. My son forgot his winter coat on the bed. We called that evening when we got home they said they had it but I would have to call the next morning early to get it shipped. Needless to say our mornings are busy and I still do not have his winter coat. The bellman was awesome! I only wish I knew his name because he was the highlite of the hotel. Ler mais

This is an older hotel but well-maintained and quite comfortable, and very conveniently located in the Loop. Unfortunately, it is being picketed by one of the unions for unfair-labor practices, and this has been going on for some eight years! We were not pleased at all upon ordering room service, as it took over an hour to receive our order leaving us inconveniently rushing to finish our food before check out time. The soda was so flat I couldn't not drink it. Took the stairs that night because yes it was busy as it was new years eve...however it would of helped to have all the elevators […] operating. . The room I got was large and spacious, but I think that I must have gotten one of the shabbier rooms. It was dimly lit and it looked like the baseboard was in the process of being ripped out. The bathroom was very nice and had obviously been redone. One of the seated chairs was in need of repair. I stayed here for my birthday for a night. I read about some of the creepy stories behind the Congress Plaza but not much happened besides the television in the room flickering. It was a decent hotel though. The only thing missing was modern technology like a minifridge, microwave, or AM/FM/iPod radio.

Was very happy with the size of our room what a pleasant surprise . Sunday morning had breakfast and was again what a delicous meal. Great location for us and close parking to hotel.

We stayed at the Congress Hotel over New Year's Eve. This was a mistake. The hotel was full of noisy, obnoxious, disgusting people. There were empty beer cans, wine bottles, and trash all over the hotel. There was food and who-knows-what thrown all over the walls of our hallway. it looked like a crime scene, not a place where I would like to stay. Every […] elevator had spilled drinks on the floor, which the hotel had to close down temporarily to clean up. I was also cursed at by some random hotel inhabitant for no reason whatsoever. While I realize that it is not the fault of the hotel for the activity of their guests, it was an utterly disgusting place to stay on New Year's Eve. The redeeming factors of this hotel were the cleanliness of our room and the good location of the hotel. The Congess is an old hotel that, for the price is okay. It's certainly not top of the line, but if you want to be close ot everything in the Loop and not break the bank it's good value. It's probably not the best hotel for romance. The rooms are clean, but produced a loud smell from the cleaning solutions that took a while to dissipate. We had a very nice stay at the Congress. Our room looked out at Grant Park and Lake Michigan. The hotel is within walking distance of some very fine restaurants. This is where we stay for our birthday weekend in the city almost every year. older hotel shower was ice cold ok for the price

My bad experience started when I pulled up to the hotel's entrance. There were about 20 people with Strike signs, disgruntled workers who were laid off by the hotel. Then, when checking in, I was told that parking would be $39 per day!! This charge was not listed on their web site. The Congress Hotel, originally built as an annex to the Auditorium Theater (now home of the Joffrey Ballet) across the street, it is a couple of blocks from the Art Institute, Orchestra Hall (Chicago Symphony), Chicago Architecture Foundation, and is convenient to much more. This visit I had a room overlooking Grant Park and Lake Michigan--wonderful […] view. This is an older hotel and the rooms look it, but they have been remodeled and are large and decent. I tend to stay elsewhere in Chicago when I can, because I don't like to cross picket lines. Housekeeping workers have been picketing the Congress for several years.
