Though it was only granted full college status in the 20th century, St. Edmund Hall is the oldest undergraduate academic society in Oxford, with the first records of such education here found in 1317. Theatre that puts on elaborate performances and gives back to the community

The stage of the stylish Oxford Playhouse has played host to performances by some of Britain’s most famous actors and continues to host a lively programme of events. They even have baby and toddler mornings to introduce little ones to the joys of music and performance.
You’ll find drama, comedy and family shows, as well as productions by amateur theatre groups and smaller poetry and studio shows. Make sure to try some of the ice cream at the interval. It comes from an award-winning producer less than 40 minutes from the theatre.
