Moonrise Hotel - St. Louis 38.65538, -90.29884

We stayed at the Moonrise the last week of December for a fun getaway trip. This was our first time in St. Louis - loved the city. The hotel was fantastic, everyone was incredibly friendly, the hotel is beautiful. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the ammenities were spectacular. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a fun and romantic visit to St. Louis - or business travelers. It's in a great location, and check out Pi Pizza across the street - YUM!

The rooms were very nice and it was a very fun atmosphere!

Flew in from Florida for "Swell Season" show at the Pagent. The Moonrise is right next door--so convenient, and everyone there was so helpful and made the trip so full of great advice for a really jam-packed,fun stay. The Delmar Loop is a great neighborhood! Also the hotel is trendy/deco/hip and beautiful with very clean/comfortable/beautiful rooms.

My wife and I saw a show at the Pageant next door and then enjoyed a great stay at the Moonrise. We had dinner and drinks at the Eclipse and enjoyed the atmosphere of Delmar St.

Loved the hotel and the surrounding area- fun places to hang out and the room was pretty awesome as well. Will definitely recommend this hotel to others :) The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of the area as well.

The attention to detail that is put into this hotel is excpetional. The staff were very attentive. I didn't want to get out of bed it was so comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful withis marble and stainless steel accent. The moon theme was a plus. I would definitely stay again.

Great experience with both a very comfortable room and excellent service

The Moonrise Hotel is a hidden gem in St Louis. It is very swanky and trendy, but a really good price. Their location on the Delmar loop puts you right in the middle of nightlife, food, and shopping. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and know the area very well. Great free self parking (or paid valet). Rooftop bar has a great view of the city.

great location, nice accommodating staff, very hip decor, very comfortable beds, we loved it!

The staff was great, I loved the room, restaurant and bar were great. I had a little trouble with the security key card in the elevator, but if that's my only complaint..... I will be back.

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, about this hotel was absolutely amazing! With that said, I was a bit disappointed at the fact there are no smoking rooms. If you're a smoker, and don't mind venturing up to the rooftop terrace or outside the front entrance for a cigarette, this shouldn't be a problem. Extremely satisfied overall.

My stay at the Moonrise Hotel was great. The hotel is conveniently located and nicely decorated. Customer service abounds. All of the staff were very cordial and friendly. The Room was very comfortable; cushy bed, fluffy robe, all necessities. Non valet Parking can be tight on nights and weekends as this area is a St. Louis hot spot. I would not hesitate to highly recommend the Moonrise Hotel.

The location of the Moonrise Hotel was incredible, especially if you are planning to shop and eat around the Loop. The hotel itself was very modern and the service was outstanding. I have two complaints. 1. When we first arrived to our room there was a weird smell. 2. We were across from the ice machine and the elevators. Of course wherever you stay, if you happen to be across from the ice machine and elevators there's going to be commotion. The smell, well that's valid. Even though the room did have a funk (which did go away or we became used to it, who knows.) I would definitely stay at the Moonrise again.

It is a shame that such a great hotel has such terrible parking. The hotel has very limited parking for their guest and no solutions if the lot is full. They do have a valet lot directly behind the hotel for which they charge a daily rate to park. It is horrible customer service for a hotel to charge their guests for parking on the premises.

I've traveled internationally, and the Moonrise was the best hotel experience I've had in 40 years. The lobby, with the faux Chihuli and light show, is a contemporary art gallery. Helpful staff, found me a thinner pillow and brought more Wolfgang Puck coffee. Ask for a shower cap: the 10 inch shower head in the marble bath with glass door is overhead. Toiletries are spa quality. The room art is all moon themes. Do Not Disturb tag says: Do Me Later/Do Me Now. I can't be the only one to take that home! (wishfully). The 10 foot revolving full moon sculpture on the roof is a beacon on Delmar, calling in the hip crowd to the Rooftop Garden. I felt like I was in the center of the universe and all was well. Two blocks away is FroYo for fat free dessert. Heaven.

I stayed at the Moonrise Hotel for three nights in an ample room with a King size bed. Facilities were clean, service at the reception friendly and the location is generally good if a bit off the beaten path. There were several decent restaurants in the neighbourhood and a good breakfast cafe nearby (Messugah Cafe). Only down side was a slight sewage odor emanating from the bathroom drains. Nothing overwhelming and easily solved by turning the air on for a while. The bar on the roof is pleasant and has a nice view of the city. This is a decent place to stay.

Everything at this hotel is great except for the showers will not contain water. The shower leaked water in the floor.The hotel is great in every other way. I will stay there everytime I am in the city.

The Moonrise was an amazing hotel. The service was the best I have ever had and the overall atmosphere was top of the line. I will stay there any time I am in St. Louis!!

I normally don't participate in this typw of thing, however, my wife and I spent a wonderful weekend at the Moon Rise Hotel in St Louis MO. There was lots of small shops and restaurants in the area which was a delight for my wife and a great Middle Eastern foor restaurant...which we both loved. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and courteous. Also after they complete a probation period a staff memeber is given dog tags instead of a badge.....quite unique....we highly recommend this hotel.

A very nice chic, modern, reasonably priced hotel in the University City area. The rooftop bar has a great view of downtown St. Louis.

The moonrise was an excellent place to stay. It was located in the loop, which allowed us to shop without having to drive to any stores. Additionally, the restaurant was fantastic, and the rooftop lounge was a nice addition. The lounge music in the lobby, combined with the color changing wall and stairs, added to the overall experience.

This hotel was fairly new I could tell, although its in a very unexpected spot and the places around it are not super nice- the hotel itself was absolutely wonderful. They offer valet parking for free (kind of weird though because the parking lot behind it needs a lot of upkeep done on it for sure). Inside of lobby is super nice and hotel staff is extremely extremely friendly. Good places to eat around the hotel and restraunt in hotel and bar on roof as well. One of nicest bathrooms I've ever seen in a hotel and the price for room is exceptional! Little bit far from alot of attractions in St. Louis but other than that definitely recommended.

...everyone on staff at the MoonRise truly cares about "their" hotel and "their" guests...the hotel is quite impressive on its own but the "people experience" made our stay a memorable one...we will be back...soon!

Great location, The Loop is a wonderful neighborhood. Was surprised at the lack of a bathtub - or even a way to close the shower. We ended up with a wet bathroom floor every time we showered.

The hotel was very modern and the rooftop bar was fabulous. While the crowd is more of a college age, we still enjoyed ourselves. The beds are very comfortable and room were well kept. Will definitely stay here again!!

Hotel was very nice, with 60s modern decor. We liked everything about it with the exception of two things. The shower stall is too small for the half-glass stationary door one steps around to enter the stall. The shower head is too close to the open part of the door and much of it ends up on the shower mat and the floor. The other thing that we noticed is that the hotel is VERY busy, having events in the lobby and forecourt so the one cannot enter through the forecourt to parks one's car. Both items are a minor inconvenience. If one is looking for a less busy experience, a different hotel might be the ticket. With that said, though, the roof-top bar was very cool with a great view of St. Louis. It's a very busy venue that locals frequent. Our room was on the floor below the bar, and we were not disturbed at all by the noise from upstairs. We would stay again.

The moonrise hotel is certainly a very interesting place. It is in a very cool area of town with lots of bars, coffee shops, and other interesting stores. I wouldn't say its in the "counterculture" part of town, but there is some of that presence around. The hotel is fantastically maintained and the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The whole hotel is moon themed. They play ambient music in the lobby which is very futuristic. The rooms are very nice and there are moons everywhere. parking is easy. they have valet service but we parked in the back for free the whole time. I would recommend the hotel to anyone even though if you are older than 60, it might not be the place for you.

This hotel was wonderful! The staff was extremely friendly and the hotel was just beautiful! Very modern and comfortable. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel! I hope they do well enough to start a chain! I would definately stay again...and againa and again!

The beds were so comfortable! All the employees were friendly and helpful. There was tons to do close by and restaurants were reasonable and good. The zoo and art museum are free!

We were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff at this hotel. Everyone from the front desk to valet to room service employees treated us like old friends. The surrounding neighborhood shopping and dining was diverse and lively. We will definitely stay there again if we travel to St. Louis!

My wife and I stayed here during a heatwave in June 2009. This tested the A/C - which was up to the job - but kept us out of nearby by open air ameneties such as the wonderful Forest Park, and restricted walking 'The Loop' during daytime hours. The hotel has a 'gay' orientation decoratively but a mixed client base. The gym is small but adequate and usually empty. There is no pool - missed in 97F heat. Parking is valet to an area behind the hotel - we didn't use the valet service but parked nearby in the same open-air carpark and this was never difficult.. Facilities are modern, minimalist, and everything works well. The beds are comfortable - my wife's main concern before arrival anywhere. Food at the Eclipse was good and reasonably priced - and usual US portions - but they did not do 'breakfast tea' which seemed surprising - we got over it and had good coffee. The hotel is spotless , the staff attentive to the point where an Irish person gets paranoid, and my only regret is that I forgot to steal one of the door hanging signs which offer "Do me now" or "Do me later". There is a rooftop bar with views over the city which we did not get around to trying, but did see some of the beautiful people heading up there. All in all - good experience and good value

good for the money

The Moonrise Hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of "the loop", a fun area of restaurants & funky shops in St Louis. The hotel is very convenient for Washington University visitors - just 1/2 mile away and I understand that the monorail line is located within walking distance for easy access to the riverfront attractions. The Moonrise has a cool, super swanky character and the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. The hotel really enhanced our St Louis experience and we'll be returning. Not hard to find -just look for the huge full moon over the 8th floor rooftop bar.

This hotel was wonderful! Me and my husband were on our honeymoon and came back to the hotel one afternoon to find chocolate dipped strawberries waiting for us in our room! If you visit St. Louis this is a great place to stay!

My wife and I stayed at the Moonrise the night of june 19, just to have a night on the town and to avoid driving back late. It was our first stay and we were really impressed. The accomodations are first class and the service is so friendly and accomodating, miles above other first class hotels. The roofbar (open air) is great, possibly very hot in july/august, but at night it is gorgeous. the wine selection is very good, we did not test the restaurant other than for breakfast. All in all, a must for a st Louis visit and we were not surprised that the place was rated number one among hundred something hotels in St Louis. you feel like you are among friends. We'll definitely be back.

This is a great, new hotel in St. Louis. Located in one of the cities best shopping/dining areas. Fantastic view of the arch and city skyline from the rooftop Eclipse bar. Not to mention a professional staff and fun moon themed decor!
