Clean, comfortable hotel, great breakfast, close to Old Trafford and the Lowry Centre. My only criticism is the wireless internet, it work ok in the reception area, but not available in the rooms.

The hotel is perfectly fine - it does what it say - there is a room with a bed, and on the whole it's clean. However-there are absolutely no perks (e.g. free wireless) and do bring your own iron - there's none around. I wouldn't feel shortchanged if I hadn't already stayed at the Mediacity UK Holiday Inn about half a mile down the road - which is marginally […] more expensive (~gbp 5per night if not the same price) and provides so much more (free wireless, minibar, fantastic styling, decor, and an iron)...with the added advantage of being brand spanking new. Although, this is a good cheap option, breakfast isn't bad and the free parking is a plus (Mediacity down the road charge 6.50 every time you exit the carpark!) Still - I'd rather pay a fiver more - and stay at mediacity. Holiday Inn express really need to cut their prices if they want to compete with their big brother down the road Leia mais

Great for a night out in Manchester - easy to get to - £5 in a taxi to the centre of Manchester. Lovely clean and modern hotel with lovely attentive staff. Nice and quiet, away from the crowds. Amazing location to Old Trafford, shopping, and food. Stayed 1 night for Manchester United football game. Traveled from the USA. We would highly recommend this hotel.

had a great time at this hotel, handy to trams. clean and tidy, friendly, nice quite area out of the city. would stay here again.

it is nice hotel with good location and beatiful sight

excellent stay, lovely lcation. only down side is the breakfast, very basic and limited. there is more than enough to fill you up but not lots of choice.. everything else brill, added bonus we had bungee jumpin just outside our bedroom window. my ten year old daughter thought thi was brillian. would recommendto stay here

Ideal location,all amenities within walking distance.Room was well planned,and extremely clean.Man Utd played Monday evening,hotel was very busy.BREAKFAST Tuesday morning was a joke,If you had paid your bill it was no joke!Serving area was inadequate,far too small.Cooked breakfast consisted of sausage,beans,scrambled egg which was served buffet style.However […] containers which held the food,were minute,contents only served 4 people.After queing for twenty minutes,my turn came,2 sausages 1/2 a scoop of egg,no beans and 1 slice of bread.I returned to my table ,and proceeded to eat the paltry amount,thinking when I had fininished the queue would gone ,and I could try for a proper breakfast.Wrong!!ON looking around,the queue had increased in size,and was snaking toward the reception area.I remained calm,and approached the reception,and asked to see the manager.On listening to my complaints,but would not come to see the carnage,the manageress,agreed to waive 10% off my bill.But I still had to join the queue,excuses of extra staff were offered,but it was obviously not true. Nice hotel, great location by M roads. Unlucky room placement as we could hear generator and couldnt open the window due to the noise. Breakfast wasn't brilliant - but for the price can't complain! Overall a nice hotel - would recommend for convenience if you're driving.

This hotel is great for a sightseeing holiday, without being in the city. The Imperial war museum and Old Trafford are a few minutes away along the Quays, as is Media City and there is the Lowry Theatre and lively eating places nearby. The hotel is right by the water and when I visited, there was an interesting and safe walkway all around the area including […] around the historic Dock No 9. There are buses and a tram from Media City direct to Manchester Picadilly, affording a cheap, quick run to the city cetre. I found it good value for money and would stay again. Leia mais

This was ideal for the lowry where I was attending a graduation ceremony. The hotel was very good.

Great location for Old Trafford Cricket (15/20 Min walk)and the Theatre of Dream(10 Min walk)

We had a wonderful time in Salford, the hotel was a delight. Convienent for the concert at the Cricket Club, across the way from a shopping centre. Just up the street to the tram and a couple of eating places. Would recommend this hotel.

Hotel was fine, nice location, good tram links, good Beefeater restaurant very near and a discount shopping outlet short walk away! Room good, all the channels available on TV if needed, and a nice view from room of the water. Were here to see Bon Jovi in concert at the cricket ground, which was approximately 30 minutes walk away, so not too much of […] a problem. Breakfast was okay, not briliant....but okay. Spent just one night here on June 24th but would recommend it.Very friendly reception staff, bright clean well maintained lounge/bar area and room was large and similarly maintained. great location for both Old Trafford venues.

Room was comfy and mainly clean apart from bad smell in bathroom. All staff polite, friendly and helpful...and then there was the terrible breakfast and associated miserable staff. Got down about an hour and a half before it finished and there was no egg, a single sausage and only the ends of the bread left with about ten people queuing. Orange juice […] was water with a tiny amount of juice and coffee from the machine was undrinkable, crossiants were undercooked and soggy. Families complained, but it was ten minutes before the bread got filled up and the egg had 'run out'. One toaster was not working and the other one was set so low that people were putting it through 3 times to get any colour on the bread. I had a piece of bread with butter, half a sausage and an undercooked crossiant. Fine it is supposed to be complimentary, but this was very far away from being advertised and the staff seemed to be more concerned with clearing plates rather than apologising and refilling the food and drink. Good hotel, good location, free parking...easy to get into the city centre via car or tram. Close to outlet shopping mall, shops and restaurants. Staff were polite and helpful, breakfast was fine. i would definitely stay here again!

Free parking and breeakfast inlcuded - very useful on busy business days. Problem with the free breakfast was that it was buffet where the hot food was only sausage, scrambled egg and toast. No beans? No moisture!?

Great value for money. Breakfast is no frills but adequate. Reception staff are very helpful, and the lady clearing up at breakfast was lovely, and very happy despite how busy she was. It was the weekend of the Manchester 10k and swim so was packed but all public areas were clean and tidy.

This is a modern hotel, Standard of cleanliness is high and rooms comfortable. All amenities are available and excellent breakfast included. Surrounding area is attractive with waterways,boating, geese etc. Within walking distance of theatres and restaurants and tram stop nearby. Journey time into centre of Manchester about 12 minutes.

Very near Old Trafford. Good location to travel around Manchester. Quiet location with a nice view.

We arrived on Sunday the 2nd and we were to leave on the 5th but we liked it so much we stayed on for another night. The staff were very helpful and informative Re: directions, tram times etc, This is a lovely hotel, very clean and comfortable and great value for money. Beautiful location, right beside the Salford Quay, very picturesque. The Hotel Staff […] made us feel so welcome they were so friendly and absolutely brilliant with our children. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was of a good standard, self service buffet of hot and cold food. We will certainly stay at this Hotel again. Leia mais

I booked this hotel due to the fact that it claimed to be of walking distance to the Man U stadium but boy, was I fooled. It was at least 15min walk away. When the match was over at 10 plus at night, the walk back is awfully scary. The bed is horrendous and when my husband moves, the bed creaks. The pillows were like non-existent. We had to sleep on […] folded towels. The breakfast in the morning and the free wifi were the only 2 consolations we had. A big dismal. Leia mais

really good to stay somewhere where the staff are friendly efficient and appear to enjoy their jobs.Great location if your going to the Lowry,my only reservation would be that it can get a little full of kids who've been to old trafford and are still a little excitable.Would definitely reccomend.

We were in a room that had an ajoining one. This caused problems in the middle f the night when our neighbours, talked shouted and laughed and we couldn't sleep. We called down to reception but nothing was done. An hour later we packed our bag and left. We went to see Muse at the Lancashire Cricket ground and this hotel was a perfect location for the Cricket Ground and for Old Trafford. There is an outlet shopping mall nearby and the pub across the quays offers good food at reasonable prices. Salford Quays are lovely and you are about a 20 min tram ride into Manchester. One thing I do have to mention […] - the Bar in the Hotel is ridiculously expensive and even the bar staff look embarrased when they tell you the price!! Breakfast was a little disorganised but I think they are still on a learning curve with this new facility. All in all and excellent stay at a 'what you see is what you get' hotel - just beware of the Bar prices!!! Leia mais

Very enjoyable and comfortable stay at this hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room very clean and comfortable. Location ideal for visiting city centre, football stadium. General location very pleasant with lots of charachter about Salford Quays area

This hotel was a great base location. We were visiting Manchester mainly to do the Old Trafford stadium tour and this hotel was in an ideal location for this. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast wasn't great but at the price I can't complain.

A lovely little hotel which wasn't overly busy and the terrace bar looks over the quay, handy for lowry theatre and outlet, beds comfortable, room clean, and buffet breakfast simple but ample for the price

Stayed two nights. Rooms small but clean. No bath - shower only. Sink was blocked and no shower gel in dispensor. Reported both to reception on first morning. They said both would be rectified that day. No such luck. Breakfast very limited. Superb location. Would definitely return to the Quays in the future but it won't be at this hotel.

We checked in on the Saturday and were pleasantly surprised by the exellent location of the hotel, right beside the Salford Quay. Our room overlooked the Quay and bungee jumping was taking place close by outside our window, which was very pleasant. Lots of other activity, including aqua-sphereing and canoeing added to the enjoyment of the location. […] Our room was comfortably equiped. The staff were very friendly to us and also amongst themselves, which I think is always a good sign and creates a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was of a good standard with a self selection choice of hot and cold food. The only negative point to make was when we came to checkout. Only one person was at the desk and was having to deal with a long telephone call. At what is probably a popular time to check out (Sunday, 10:30am?) it might have helped to have two people available. We certainly expect to visit again Leia mais
