Not important for some people but the hotel elevator was slow. Everything else was great. 10min from trainstation, 5min from metro about 3min to tram. The street the hotel is busy with traffic but you don't hear it inside but I would be cautious with children. Room was clean,comfortable and had all we wanted. This is a great place to locate yourself for a stay in Prague. I was there for two weeks, sightseeing and attending a conference, and Hotel Downtown was the perfect spot. Location: It's two blocks from a major metro hub (A and C lines) and one stop from the other major metro hub (A and B lines) so getting places was simple. You can pick up the main […] tram lines in one or two Metro stops. The hotel is two blocks off Wenceslas Square, which is super touristy and pricey (by Prague standards) but nice as there are restaurants and banks close by and open late. There are a couple of mini-groceries a block down Zitna and there's a Tesco a few blocks away if you need groceries or need to make a retail item run. You can walk to Charles Bridge from the hotel in less than 30 minutes, Old Town Square in 20 minutes, Jewish Cemetery in 20 minutes. I walked to the Castle in about an hour. Staff: Other reviews have complained about the staff being unfriendly, but I found them to be, while not the most chatty, very efficient and helpful when asked for advice or directions. Amenities: Free wi-fi. It gets a little bogged down in the morning when everyone is using it. I used it for sending large work docs/files and found that waiting until after 11pm the speed picked up considerably. The breakfast is fine - when I was there they had eggs (real scrambled, boiled and soft cooked), various cooked breakfast meats, fresh vegetables, cold cuts & cheeses, granola and cereals, several varieties of yogurts, fresh fruit, dried fruit, bread and rolls and pastries, plus coffee, juice, tea, water and hot cocoa. The shower had excellent water pressure, the windows open easily and do keep street noise out when closed, which is important given the traffic in this busy area. The AC was wimpy by USA standards but after a bit you could feel it. Bed was two standard mattresses together to make a king if that bugs you - it seems to be the norm for CZ in my experience. Wonderful hotel with great accommodations. Had issue with A/C but temperature dropped one day from 80 to 54 and that problem was no longer an issue. A nice 1/2 mile walk to Old Town and Old Town Square.

I expected the hotel to be decorated a little more modern than it was. If they would have a good paint job on the walls and neutral carpeting, it would look alot better. But I'm a realtor and look at things like that, most people probably don't care about the decor. The hotel is VERY CLEAN. I'm picky about that. I don't believe smoking is allowed in […] the hotel and if it is, it doesn't smell like smoke. We were first put into a room and then the front desk called to see if it was satisfactory and asked if we would like to look at a bigger room. Maybe they realized that we are American and booked from hotels.com. The bigger room was much better with four windows and two skylights. The bathroom has a shower only (providing shower caps) and is very similar to Holland bathrooms if you've ever been there. I also noticed that a Snickers bar had an expiration date of the present day and was switched out the following day. Seems like they don't cut corners on cleaniness and health. We were on the fourth floor and the street noise was minimal. Didn't bother me. We even had the windows open for a while cause the room was a bit stuffy. But we had to close the windows after a little while because the smog smell was a bit much. The only main complaint is the lack of tv channels. I'm not a big tv watcher but the only English speaking channels were basically news channels. The other languages available are German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and French. We got by watching the French comedies because I understand a little. I thought it to be comical there were no Czech channels. The hotel is walking distance from the metro. Walking with a rolling suitcase or booksack, not heavy carry luggage. There are restaurants within walking distance as well as a 24 hour convenient store. Leia mais

Expecting to find a typically small European hotel room, we were stunned to find a plush, large room and an equally stunning and pristine bathroom. The breakfast selection was outstanding and we booked this room at an amazing rate. The hotel is in a prime city location, which makes the prices we paid even more of a bargaim. The breakfast was varied and plentiful and all staff encountered were friendly and courteous. The rooms, though small, were comfortable but the bathroom was well appointed and spacious. Unfortunately a previous occupant ha dbviously been smoking as the room […] still smelt. This hotel, literally in the shadow of Prague's Muzeum is great for the price I paid. The people at the front desk were friendly, accommodating and spoke perfect English. I will definitely stay here again.

The Hotel was very acceptable for the price (breakfast included). However, it was not in the best of neighborhoods which made us feel a bit uncertain about walking at night.

The room was beautifully maintained and more than met our expectations. Loved the complimentary buffet breakfast. For a first-time visitor to Prague, it was an ideal location. Front desk was helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Very Clean! One minor thing to be aware of- We booked a Riverboat cruise/dinner with one of the attendants at the front desk and she assured us the price of 42 Euros included dinner. When we arrived the following evening for the cruise we were told dinner was not included. So we paid for our dinner and tried […] to resolve the issue at the front desk but unfortunately we were unable to get resolved before we were scheduled to leave the next morning. Our double bed was made up of two beds squished together though which was quite annoying but you cant really complain, they do warn you this may happen since your paying discount prices. En general el hotel está muy bien, las habitaciones de tamaño medio, buen baño (con el suelo calefactado), buenas camas, buena TV, desayuno incluído, etc. pero tuvimos dos problemas. El primer problema fue el ascensor. Se rompió el segundo día y estuvo roto una semana. Me parece inaceptable que un ascensor esté tanto tiempo sin funcionar en un edificio […] alto, los ascensores se arreglan en el mismo día. Supone una gran incomodidad porque el desayuno es en la planta -1, y cuanto más alta esté la habitación tanto peor. Al menos podían haberse ofrecido a los clientes a ayudar a bajar las maletas por las escaleras el día antes de salir, pero ni eso. El otro problema fue en el spa. El spa consiste en dos bañeras grandes de hidromasaje (y cuesta 250 koronas por persona y hora) en una habitación privada. Una de las bañeras no funcionaba bien, había cosas que no hacía y la luz estaba fundida. Pero lo peor fue que a la media hora de repente se fue la luz de la habitación, con lo que, como es en la planta -1, la oscuridad era absoluta. Extremadamente peligroso para salir de allí. Si no hubiera sido porque llevaba el móvil, habría sido todo un riesgo. La luz solo se haía ido en esa habitación y no había luces de emergencia. Una caída habría sido realmente posible en esa situación y de ir solo, allí no habría aparecido nadie hasta horas más tarde. Por supuesto no nos cobraron, pero ni siquiera nos ofrecieron una explicación posterior. Leia mais

Bra beliggenhet. Nær nasjonalmuseet og alle t-bane forbindelser. Ligger øverst i byen (sør) og lettvindt å spasere nedover og inn i gmlee byen. Rommene var rene om ikke annet, service'en var grei og ikkenoe mer. Fikk ikke hjelp da vi spurte om lokasjoner etc. De var for opptatt med andre ting. Frokosten var grei nok. Videre er jeg litt skuffet over […] at det ikke var nye håndklær på baderommet på ett 5 dagers opphold. Leia mais

Hotellet ligger rigtig godt i forhold til metro (både linje B og A) og er meget tæt på centrum. Der var en del støj fra ambulancer, men jeg hørte ikke støj fra biler, selv om hotellet ligger ved en meget trafikeret vej. Morgenmad var ok men ikke noget at råbe hurra for. Værelset var lidt for lille, men ganske comfortabel, ren og pænt. Internet forbindelse […] upåklagelig. Hvis man blot har behov for et sted at sove, er dette hotel ganske fornuftig i forhold til den pris jeg fik det for. Jeg betalte ca 360 kr. pr. nat inkl. alt midt i december. Veldig bra hotell, hyggelig betjening som snakker godt engelsk. Rene rom og god frokost. Hotellet ligger nært den nyere bydelen, med handlestøket, ca fem min å gå. Litt lengre til gamledelen og markedsplassen, ca 10 - 15 min å gå.

L'albergo è pulito, decoroso, anche tranquillo, il prezzo è anche basso, ma secondo me è un onesto tre stelle: è anonimo, gli manca quel tocco di classe che lo fa distinguere. Si trova in una posizione abbastanza centrale e si possono raggiungere a piedi diversi luoghi di interesse. Hotellet ligger mellom to av de travleste gatene i Praha. Ikke nok med det, men hele døgnet passerer det ambulanser og politibiler med ulende sirener. Slik blir det når de er stasjonert noen kvartaler unna. Her sover man ekstremt dårlig med mindre man er bevistløs...

Udemærket hotel dog kunne der godt være lidt renere. Endvidere var welnes området aflåst

Vi kom fram sent på lördagkvällen till Prag. Det gick otroligt snabbt och smidigt att hitta fram till hotellet. Väl framme fick vi bra hjälp med att parkera bilen. Hotellet ligger bara ett stenkast från Vaclav-platsen och därifrån är det gångavstånd till Gamla Stan där du finner Karlsbron m.m. Hotellet serverade en bra frukostbuffé men vi saknade "det […] lilla extra". Rummet innehöll det vi förväntade oss, badrummet var fräscht och golvvärmen uppskattades. Hotellet erbjöd parkering på innegården, men det gäller att boka i förväg för att få plats. Annars får du parkera vid järnvägsstationen där priserna är nästan det dubbla. Leia mais

Hotellet har fyra stjärnor och jag förstår det när det gäller rummet. Jättefint. Hotellets receptionister (två som vi stötte på) var väldigt duktiga på engelska och hade god servicemind. Frukostbuffén var under all kritik. Kvalitén på maten och utbudet var defenitivt inte fyrstjärnigt. Hotellet var rent og ryddig. Men arcondition funket svært dårlig. Det var en varm uke. Resepsjonen var ikke spesielt interessert i å bidra til å løse problemet. Vi sov med vinduet åpent til det ble for mye trafikk i hovedgata utenfor og vi våknet av det. Lukket vinduet og svettet resten av natta. Ok plass til en ok pris.

Bra frokostbuffet, og bra hotell i forhold til beliggenhet og pris. Noe trafikk rett utenfor, men stille og rolig på baksiden. Badened på våre rom var nyoppusset og meget bra!

we should pay unexpected deposit to stay or they don't give us key, hotel employeers are always bad mood, no smile. porter will not help you,if you don't pay tips, they are unpolite . room is small, it is not 4 star hotel , max.2 star

Vi nød at bo lige i centrum af Prag - ikke langt fra Karlsbroen. Placeringen betyder dog også, at der var en del trafikstøj, men dette opvejede beliggenheden og standarden af hotellet til fulde. Et rigtig godt hotel med dejlige værelser og god morgenmad, som vi gerne vil bruge igen.

Var ei veke på hotellet. Beligenheten er bra,kort avstand til da mesta ibyn,god frukost og bra renhold. men ska du ta heisen må du ha jækla god tid,for da må vara verdens tregaste

Fin beliggenhet i forhold til byen. Fint og rent rom.

Ligger rigtigt godt - i gå afstend til alt det man nu skal se i Prag. Tæt på banegården og nemt at komme til i bil. God service og mulighed for spa m.m. Kan anbefales og vil helt sikkert blive booket en anden gang turen går til Prag,

Hotellets standard var mkt bra. Rummen kanske något små, och aircondition funkade så där. Lite skränig. Sämst var frukosten, även om den var helt ok. Jag är är väl lite bortskämd med bra frukostar. Till exempel smakade juicen bara apelsinsaft.

Ektepar bodde 2 netter på hotellet. Hotellet har god beliggenhet, er rent og pent, med god service. De har også egen "taxi" som kan benyttes t/r flyplassen, må bestilles på forhånd. Intet negativt å melde fra oss :-)

Meget serviceminded personale, der gjorde deres yderste for at gøre opholdet så godt som muligt. Udmærket standard og pænt rent

Vi hade ca 30gr på hotellrummet, det gick inte att få lägre pga av det låg högst upp(501). Detta är absolut inte bra. Vi sov i en bastu.

Nice, clean room. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was OK. We stayed on the 5th floor and the elevator must be the slowest in the history of the world, so that was a small annoyance. The area the hotel is situated is not the nicest in Prague. Basically streets with cars, other hotels and 4-5 sex shops. However, we felt perfectly safe. […] The sights of Prague are still within walking distance, and in 4 days, we took the metro once, and that was only due to laziness. Leia mais

Trés satisfaite du séjour, hormis la caution d'arrivée qui n'a pas lieu d'être, sachant que l'état des lieux n'a pas été fait à notre arrivée, et de plus l'information n'était pas donnée lors de la réservation.
