Dana Hotel and Spa - Chicago

My fiance and I spent this past weekend at the Dana Hotel and Spa and we are going to make this our staple for future trips to Chicago. This is one of the newer hotels in great location near Michigan Ave close to great restaurants. Unbeatable service and upscale rooms. Hands down the best hotel mattress we've ever flept on. We almost didn't want to […] leave the room all weekend because of the great views with floor to ceiling windows. There is also a great nightclub on the top floor that's quite popular and the spa seems to offer a significant amount of services at reasonable rates for in-hotel service. I only gave it a 4 out of 5 for maintenance because of a dirty furnace filter that I think affected the heat. However, maintenace came right up and had it replaced in less than 2 minutes! Ler mais

The hotel is close to two stops on the Red line and some great tapas and delicious Italian food. The views are great. The shower view from the room is a strange feature.

Great location! Friendly, helpful staff!

1st time in Chi when I go back I will make reservations to stay hear again.

Very friendly staff, quick response to problems, glass-walled corner room perfect for the city. Neighborhood full of good restaurants. I will definitely stay here again.

This was a wonderful experience. Great room, great staff and a wonderful view. It was Christmas weekend and the Dana added to the magic of the weekend. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Overall great hotel and awesome rooftop bar. Great view of the city from your room as well.

Dana Hotel & Spa was small, but modern. Our room was chilly with a noisy heater, but worth the comfort of the bed, location & view. A very affordable getaway, which may leave room in your wallet for a spa treatment.

We've stayed in a corner room at the Dana twice and enjoyed it both times. It is an amazing hotel with lots of great touches of luxury. That said, the placement of the desk in the corner suites is awful because it blocks much of the amazing view from the floor to ceiling windows. There is plenty of space to move the entire dresser/desk furniture unit […] towards the door, which would leave the entire corner area wide open for the best views. It's really disappointing that a view with such great potential is ruined by a desk and a bunch of ugly plugs/wires underneath it. We would love to see this changed on a future visit. Ler mais

This was a great weekend getaway for me and my husband. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant so much, but for a great place to crash when not out and about in the city, we absolutely loved it.

This hotel was so nice , the staff remembered us and were so kind. It was in the river North Area which I love, It is a great hotel for Adults, we stayed to celebrate our Anniversary. The Japanese bar/Restaurant inside was great too, and the Vertigo lounge on the top floor was a neat place to hang out. They have tons of comfy couches and free popcorn, […] a dance floor,and outside rooftop seating with fireplace. We went on a Sunday night up there when it was calmer and just relaxed and listened to music. I had a pre-natal massage, it was very relaxing and the steam room was nice afterwards! The only "complaint" I do have is for all the hotels we have stayed at in Chicago, this by far has the highest overnight parking of them all. It was 48 per night. I told my husband next time we will just take the Amtrak up instead of driving, and will save a bunch of money!! But other than that, we would definitley stay again. I loved the "Adult" feel of this place. We have 3 kids and one on the way, so it is nice to get away from kids completeley when we have our alone time!! Ler mais

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dana. One thing puzzled us, however. On street level there was a bank of elevators but on Friday and Saturday night there was a huge bouncer-type of guy with secret service type of earpiece apparently guarding the elevators. Throw in a velvet rope and it felt like guests like us were intruding upon some kind of […] VIP event. A very nice modern hotel, but rooms are a bit small. The Vertigo bar was really cool with good views of Chicago. The hotel wasn't as big as I expected, but was very nice and Cesar the bell man was very nice and friendly, but my husband said the bell man with the furry hat didn't watch his bags! Overall was a very good stay.

Great location and great view. The room was a little smaller than I was expecting, but other than that I enjoyed my stay there and thought that the staff was helpful. The location is great as it's only a couple blocks from the "Magnificent Mile." I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the corner suite with a view to the north. Amazing view and very clean room. Two walls were nothing but glass. The valet is a convenient way to park if you plan on staying a couple ours past checkout (4pm). Be sure to request a higher floor, except for the very top (night club next level up). Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff. Room was a little small and only had a shower which was fine with me, but my husband always likes to have a tub as well. But overall very nice and conveniently located for us. Angle of TV kind of difficult to watch from bed.

We loved this hotel, it was very comfortable and we had a great view of the city. I also loved having a rain shower with spa lights, a candy bar, and a Keurig coffee maker..lol We also had a balcony with a great view of the city. I would definitely stay here again.

Terrific boutique hotel. Location is off beaten path, but convenient to all. Decorating minimalist, but condition is top notch. Service not on par with large hotels. Corner king room, best I have every stayed. Will stay again.

Very nice hotel and one of the most comfortable beds ever, but to get to rooftop bar you have take a elevator down to lobby, then take another elevator down to the original elevator up to rooftop, and then the same to get to your room even though your on the elevator to the rooms

This hotel indeed has the most friendliest workers. They made my fiance and I feel like we have every reason to move from California to Chicago!!! I was too pleased with the location of the hotel that I will make it my go to hotel from now on.

Be aware that the bathroom door does not lock and that there is no shower curtain or door. Really great hotel in the heart of Chicago.

First time staying at the Dana, I have stayed in many hotels downtown Chicago and this has to be my favorite. Great location, great price through Hotels.com. The staff was wonderful, beds were very comfy, and room was modern and clean.

I have generally had good experiences at the Dana. However, the hotel lost several items of laundry that I sent out for cleaning during my stay. I understand that they outsource this service to a third-party, and that these things happen. My chief complaint is that the gentlemen working the front desk that evening couldn't have been less interested […] in helping me track down the missing items, and failed to follow-up as promised. While the furnishings in the rooms are just beginning to show a little wear, the overall comfort in the lighting, smooth and dark wood floors and other finishes is very good. While many ECO oriented hotels are cold and harsh, this one is just the opposite. I would recommend this hotel over the James, the Palomar and the Affinia. We have stayed in all […] three. Our corner room had a fantastic view of the city - spectacular both during the day and at night. Very helpful bell staff. Great location for shopping, and having the great food at Aja on the first floor made it easy when we didn't want to venture into the cold.

Everything was good - room nice contemporary and clean. Great value!

Great hotel with wood floors, floor to ceiling glass in the rooms, super comfortable beds, and great design. I travel a lot for work, and have stayed at a few hotels in the world at this level. I was very comfortable and would definitely stay here again. One note, the hotel says "Spa," but there is NO pool. Leave the trunks at home. I didn't. ;)

Awesome rooms... different, comfortable, nice view. Excellent front desk service. Good hotel location. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Our room was rather small but nice. The mini bar refrigerator was not working, the safe had to be repaired, and the remote for the tv was horrible. Terrible reception, too. Upon complaint most was fixed. Could hear whenever anyone on floor closed their door or used elevator. The bar on top floor is great!

it was thanksgiving weekend so the hotel staff was really busy and at times the service was delay and the staff was little bit rude at times...but overall friendly environment, clean rooms and comfortable stay for me.

Dana, YOU ROCK !!! My wife and i just had our first child a year ago. This was our first get away from him, And we had an amazing time. Great food, Excellent service, and so much to do around the hotel. We will be staying there again next year, Until then... keep it POPPING !!!

Hotel and location are great. I had a minor issue with my key card not working, and the gentleman with the dreads at the front desk. He seemed to be slighly stand-off-ish, as if I was inconvienceing him to reset my key so that it would re-open my door. Beacause I had a guest staying with me, I had given them the second key that actually worked do that […] they could get back in without a problem. He (the guy with the dreads)stated that he would have to reset their key as well, and when they came back they would have to stop by the counter to have their key re-programmed. Somewhat inconvient but not a deal breaker.......This same guy also seemed to want to charge extra for checking out after 1pm, while the girl (who may have been a manager) that was at the desk had said late check out would be fine as long as we were out by 3pm.....Dont know what that was all about. The guy didnt seem like he liked working. Other than that Rooms are great, view in the comfy king was phenomenal!!! Would stay there again when I come back to Chicago. Ler mais

The hotel is perfectly situated 3 short blocks from the metro train that links to Midway airport and it is about 3 blocks or so also to the Magnificent Mile. You can literally walk anywhere from here. The neighborhood feels safe even at night. This hotel is a perfect little boutique hotel with concrete walls and floor to ceiling windows at a great value. […] The staff was incredible. Tim the concierge was amazingly helpful. Rooms were clean. The only small comment would be the rooms aren't exactly noise proof. Try to stay away from rooms 8 or 10 on each floor as they are across from the elevators and can be a bit noisy at times. You can't beat this hotel for value, trendiness, friendliness, location and quality. Ler mais
