I recently had a 2 night stay over Christmas in Castle Dargan and am more than happy with hotel and the service we received. The food was good with plenty of variety in the restaurant and the room was large and very comfortable. The hotel is located in rural Sligo but ideally situated near Lough Gill where there is a lovely drive along with plenty of […] forest walks enroute and also a short drive to Sligo town. I didn't use the spa so cannot comment on that but there certainly was plenty to offer there also. Would definately recommend this hotel to all ages. Leia mais

This hotel is orientated towards the golfer or those seeking a quiet retreat. The surrounding countryside is nice and peaceful. We stayed here on a saturday night and would have expected some entertainment in the hotel bar. Unfortunately there was none and like many other residents we hired a taxi into Sligo town instead (which can be very costly). […] The staff were helpful and the walled garden suite was like a 1-bedroom apartment with a very spacious living area. I enjoyed my stay with only the lack of entertainment within the hotel the only downside. Leia mais

This is a lovely, welcoming and peaceful hotel and would be grand place for an extended stay - especially if you are playing golf, writing a book, painting and sketching. Or if just want some peace and quiet and to get away from it all. We were booked in for a short stay and would have loved to stay longer. A bit remote from Sligo and a bit hard to […] find for a Canadian....but well worth both the struggle to find and the drive too and from the town. Leia mais

Beautiful location, lovely hotel. Stayed in Walled garden suite - 2 bedroom spacious lounge area etc. great location for touring around the sligo area.

I got this room with breakfast incl. for a great deal however if i had paid the regular price i would be less than impressed. The hotel grounds itself are beautyful and you feel like you are away from everything. The rooms are very basic not really up to 4 star standards in my eyes. Bed was comfortable but oddly was two single beds pushed together […] to make a king size bed. The bathroom was perfectly clean but the shower was small and certainly not a power shower. We used the TINY dinning room restaurant on our first night and found the food average and extremly over priced with very little choice or imagination. We also used the hotel spa which i felt was majorly lacking facilities such as a decent hydrotherapy pool. I will say however that the staff were all super friendly which made up for most the hotels faults. Breakfast had plenty on offer with many juices, cooked breakfast and cereal. Spectacular setting, wonderful spa services and golf course only thing lacking is a fitness room

Stayed at Castle Dargan for 3 nights as friends were getting married at nearby venue. Played golf on the Friday and golf pro and course were outstanding. Girlfriend went to spa and also had great time. Where this hotel failed for me was in the service, let themselves down time and time again with poor service from disinterested and at times rude […] staff. Barman stood in bar swearing and cursing at the people in the room next door in full view and earshot of all customers in the bar. No napkins on dinner table, ordered steak and no steak knife, had to ask for tea and coffee 4 times at breakfast before anyone helped etc........... worst was after the golf with 30 or 40 of us in for dinner and drinks.......ordered and then waited over 2 hours before anything brought out. When it did arrive it was a mish mash of food and not what was ordered. In summary, a nicely designed hotel with a great golf course and spa but woefully inadequate staff given the price... A wonderfully relaxing environment made complete by good staff and service

Poor hotel, our room was on the groud floor (which was actually for disabled person, although not required), the room was beside a function room with wedding, so noise travelled to bedrooms all night, zero sleep. Would not return. No sympathy from the manager, I had to really fight my case to get some refund for this poor service.

I found the staff extremely helpful. This added to the whole mini break that we enjoyed. Being able to play 9 holes of golf on their golf course for 15 euro was excellent value. I woudl definately recommend this to anyone wanting to take a nice relaxing break.

Having been to Castle Dargan once before for golf I knew what to expect from the hotel in terms of service. What I hadnt experienced before was a stay. I can safely report that the rooms are still sparkly new, with such luxuries as underfloor heating in the bathrooms and wall to ceiling views in the living room of our suite. All very lovely!

We had come here before, taking advantage of their bargain rates for non-ROI bank holiday Sundays. Again we were not disappointed, the comfort is superb and the food delicious. Reasonable bar prices too we found. We'll definitely be back again before too long.
