Como San Diego não é uma megalópole, o deslocamento de carro para todos os pontos turísticos é rápido, em particular Gaslamp Quarter e Little Italy (dois locais imperdíveis de se ir à noite). Localizado junto à praia e restaurantes diversos, é uma boa para quer quer surfar e comer. O hotel é do tipo econômico (padrão Orlando) e dispõe de lavanderia. Havia famílias americanas com crianças e estavam todas satisfeitas. O café é servido no lobby (café, leite, chá, suco e muffins doces). Se quiser, pode montar seu kit e levar para o quarto. O quarto com duas camas de casal é amplo, limpo e comfortável. A internet é paga. O entorno é seguro para um passeio à pé. Há todo tipo de comércio que precisar nos arredores. Tudo compatível com o preço. Fiquei muito satisfeito e recomendo com empenho.

The hotel is great with a friendly and efficient service. Nice breakfast. Pacific Beach is beautiful. The only negative was the surrounding neighborhood at night. Really scary to walk around !!

O Hotel é muito bom, porém a localização é meio longe de tudo, mas como nos USA vc precisa de carro para tudo, este não é um gde problema se quiser pagar mais barato...único comentário que tenho que fazer é que esqueceram de limpar e arrumar nosso quarto em um dos dias....recepcionistas muito atenciosos...tem um chillis(restaurante) que consegue ir andando tb...café da manhã muito bom.

O quarto reservado era muito pequeno e sem ventilação ( havia apenas uma pequena janela). Após relatar o problema, consegui um upgrade para um quarto melhor por um preço razoável(diferença).
"Honest and good for a short stay in San Diego"
Very well located in downtown, charming and "cool" at the same time. My room was very small, but that's ok for a short stay (4 days) in SD. Air conditioning is very noisy, but didn't annoy when you're really tired. I'll stay there next time for sure.

O quarto é muito pequeno para comportar 2 camas de casal, nesta situação, com 3 ou 4 pessoas no quarto, não existe muito lugar para acomodar as malas, pois, o armário é muito pequeno e os corredores entre as camas e as paredes são ainda menores. Para quem está com carro alugado, o hotel não tem garagem gratuita e o que existe é um serviço de garagem […] terceirizada com manobrista ao custo de US$ 30,00 por dia, o que deve ser considerado nos critérios de comparação de preço com outros hotéis. Very helpful and pleasant staff. No pool. Windows don't open. No balconies. Daily room service charge of $8/day?? For what? Very easy access to public transit. Superb location.

The Sofia is a great little hotel.... the only thing I wish it had was room service. It does have a GREAT restaurant/bar downstairs called Currant but again, was craving some breakfast and room service would have been ideal. Everyone that worked there was very nice and helpful. Also.... it is about 1/2 block from a jail. My friend went down to smoke […] a cigarette and was approached by a guy still wearing his jumpsuit asking for a light.... not so great! "Very nice-Rooms are small"
The Westgate across the street has rooms that are 5x bigger!! The Sofia was a great place for our anniversary. Only BIG problem is that the valets were very rude. They were 5'7 and 5'3 boys that needed a good spanking for their attitude and comments. I called and complained. Other than that--very nice. Business center was free too. =)

The hotel is wonderfully situated near the main part of the Gaslamp Quarter. It was also in walking distance of the trolley stop (and the bus stop was across the street) so it was easy to go out and explore San Diego. Highly recommended! Great place. Some complain of the rooms and TV's being too small. I personally think that if you are in San Diego and want to just stay in your room and watch tv, you should probably reconsider your trip. Excellent hotel!

"Charming hotel"
The Sofia Hotel was very charming, it had a historic feel to it which was displayed nicely thru old pictures on the wall. The lobby service was ok but I will say the maid did a great job in cleaning our room (tipping a few bucks always helps) . Our 3rd floor room had a view of the street the traffic could be heard but it didn't bother us one bit ( would […] not recommend if your a light sleeper) the size of the room was a bit small and the bathroom / sink area was way too small . All in all our stay was great the hotel had a good location and we enjoyed the historic feel . If you can get a good deal on the room I would recommend it ,its Probly the only way I'd stay there again. Leia mais

"Very Small room!"
I recently booked a 2 double bed room at the sofia hotel & it was pretty small!! Our restroom was tiny & the shower didnt even have a full door!! just half a glass covering it which i guess looks cool & modern but when we showered it got water all over the restroom!!! & also The T.v. in our room was TINY! not Cute At all! & the worse part is that there […] is NO FREE PARKING for Hotel Guest which is Absolutely freaking ridiculous!!!!!!!!! We had to pay an Extra $30.00 charged to our room for Hotel Valet!! YUP!! $30.00!!!!! The hotel itself is Nice & right next to The gaslamp district which is very convenient when parting down there but was not happy w how small the rooms actually are! Leia mais

Very nice hotel - rooms were small, yes, however ample...and what one should expect from a boutique hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had four rooms here while attending a conference. "queen city view: contentment"
Our experience was very positive at this hotel. It is in an excellent location a stone's throw from several different neighbourhoods: Gaslamp, the waterfront/Maritime Museum area, Little Italy, not to mention Horton Plaza two blocks away. Bus to the zoo is across the street. Our corner room was a 'city view' queen, which was a few dollars more in off-season […] but incredible bright and well-appointed, and very quiet. The wired+wireless internet and in-room safe were incredibly convenient, and we liked the availability of bicycles, thought finally didn't take advantage of these. All this and the daily replacement of the in-room bottled water made the $8 supplemental daily guest services charge an excellent value. I had packages sent to the hotel and these, as well as check in/out, were handled professionally. Though this hotel is definitely in an urban setting and on a busy street, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Leia mais

Loved it! The bikes available were great too! The location was great for us. It was really fun to take the ferry to Coronado too. Super easy with the bikes. The hotel service was great. I"d stay there again!

refurbished and traditional, a wonderful change from the mundane chain hotels. Rooms are smallish, in keeping with the age (1926) but everything else is up to date- business center, excellent cafe-restaurant, great value

I have the same meeting once a year in San Diego. I always stay here and am never disappointed.

I enjoyed my stay at the Sofia Hotel. Very clean and friendly staff. The only one flaw is that parking was not easy to find unless you parked Valet. Overall great experience.

The hotel was clean and very well located within a few minutes walk of the ferry terminals and the main park, shops in downtown SD. The hotel bedroom was well furnished and comfortable but very small. There was a ventilator shaft or heating duct behind my wall and I am a light sleeper. My first night was not a good night sleep for this reason. Travellers […] should be aware that a full night rate is charged to your card on arrival to cover incidentals although you have already paid for your stay, a bit of a shock to the system. Then an additional daily charge to cover water in your room etc., on top of the amount you have already paid is unexpected and unwelcome, feels a bit of a cheat. The Sofia is at the edge of the Gaslamp district, easy walking distance to Harbor Drive and the main part of the Gaslamp. The room I was in was small but comfortable and well maintained, with good lighting and air conditioning and heating controls. I would have given the Sofia a higher rating except that the wireless signal in my room was weak and […] sometimes nonexistant. In addition, the TV is small and the picture quality not great. You pay a "resort fee" for wireless, bottled water in the room and some other amenities and since I am paying for it, I want a reliable and consistent signal on the 'net. We chose the Sofia because of the classic quaint photos online. Its not quite as nice in person. The room was quite tight, which isn't an issue in itself, but the bathroom isn't very private with only a pocket door to separate it. Chose to go use the washroom in the gym for "constitutional moments". Also didn't appreciate the additional guest service […] charge of $7/nite that wasn't mentioned in the online booking. Terrific remodel job. Room & bath full of conveniences in design. Super soft bath towels. Comfortable bed. Quiet room. Only problem was w. weak handheld TV control, even though maintenance was quick to respond to our request for help w. this. Old hotel, rooms are VERY small. Beds are not too comfortable, but great location. I did not like the $8 "service fee" automatically charged per day, just for water and coffee. Parking is $30 per day. The restaurant is convenient and has good food.

Enjoyed the upscale boutique ambiance of the Sofia especiall during the holidays when the trees were artistically designed, organic and beautiful anything but your run-of-the-mill red ornament put together with last year's half off drug store decorations. The welcoming Hispanic woman (can't remember her name) was charming and went out of her way to […] answer questions and direct us to nearby restaurants and shopping numerous times with a warm and caring attitude. The room is small, but lovely and the bed most comfortable. Room was really small and the walls were very thin as well. Not the best lovers get away as you hear every word being said in the room next to yours. Nice hotel overall though. Well kept and cute. Nice staff. No room service though :(

Well run hotel. Small but nice and very clean rooms. Staff is very nice and very helpful. Great gym for a small hotel and lovely lobby with iced water and complimentary and USA today. Complimentary bottled water in the room. Walking distance to Horton Plaza and many restaurants and bars. Cannot beat the pricing!
