Hotel Il Monastero - Quartu Sant Elena

My partner and I were looking for a short break in the sun to chill out we searched the internet heaps and came up with this little gem. Off the beaten track away from the city but still close to airports etc. The beaches are at the end of the road less than 4minutes walk. The rooms had everything you needed and a good size, remembering your at the pool or beach anyway... This hotel was not what I expected at all. When we drove up, we thought it was a rundown building and didn't believe that it was our hotel. We parked across the street next to the run down waterpark. The rooms are very, very basic with very little lighting (it was hard to read in the room). The hotel was run down with mold in the pool, weeds growing […] everywhere and because of the farm and fruit trees, there are bugs everywhere. Another disappoint was the beach. Rather than the few hundred meters the hotel suggests it is to the beach, it is at least 1.5km (up a steep hill). There is also construction going on around the hotel so the walk includes a large dusty road with no sidewalk. The website also suggests it is close to bars, cafes, etc. It is not. The closest town is a 15 minute drive away and the drinks at the hotel are more expensive than anywhere else we went on the island (4 euro each). We ate at the hotel the first night and that was enough - the food was not good. Veggies were brown and sweet and sour fish was disgusting. On the plus side, the staff was very, very friendly going out of their way to help the guests. In short, the hotel has a lot of character and the staff is very friendly but it is a ways away from the cute towns in Sardinia, the beach is a solid 20 minute walk away, food/drinks are overpriced, hotel is not well taken care of and the rooms have only very basic level of comfort. A metà tra cagliari e Villasimius, e neanche tanto lontano da Arbatax per chi prende il traghetto da li grazie alla nuova strada appena aperta, abbiamo prenotato considerando il punto logistico e le varie foto sia su questo sito che su quello ufficiale... ma.. CHE GRADITA SORPRESA! CHE POSTO!! Siamo stati accolti con entusiasmo e con piena disponibilità […] per ogni richiesta avanzata (nei limiti del possibile ovvio! ^_^) e Siamo stati BENISSIMO!!!!!! pensavamo ad un albergo di normale dimensione ma in realtà è grandissimo!! STANZA: al nostro arrivo la prima sorpresa; Junior Suite Principessa.. una stanza da godere al tramonto con quella luce arancione proveniente dalla finestra che dona un'atmosfera romantica e di tranquillità. (peccato per i canali della Tv satellitare che non va con quelli del digitale terreste ma a dire della proprietaria si stanno organizzando per il prossimo anno) CUCINA: noi avevamo la mezza pensione, colazione abbondantissima, appena finisce una cosa viene rimessa senza aver timore di doversi svegliare per forza presto per non dover stare a cercare i rimasugli come succede da altre parti. Sempre a colazione hai modo di scegliere la cene tra due piatti per ogni portata (Antipasto, Primo e Secondo con contorno) e la sera è stato un piacere sedersi a tavola (A BORDO PISCINA ILLUMINATA!! wow!!) e mangiare le prelibatezze del cuoco! peccato non aver potuto assaggiare gli Spaghetti allo scoglio che dicono essere una sua specialità causa nostra partenza nella sera stessa in cui erano previsti.. sigh.. il Mercoledi cena tipica sarda, con profumini allettanti già dal primo pomeriggio. RELAX: La piscina è una mano santa!! tornati dal mare abbastanza stanchi, sotto il sole a picco tutto il giorno, una bella doccia e via in piscina.. acqua calda.. IDROMASSAGGIO e soprattutto le amache a bordo vasca.. Ronf ronf... leider wird eine Schnellstraße vor dem Hotel errichtet und bereits Schallschutzwände aufgestellt, somit ist es mit der Ruhe und dem besonderen Flair dieses Klosters vorbei

Veldig hyggelig hotell i landlige omgivelser, men med kort vei til stranda. Fint basseng og veldig god mat i restauranten. Betjeningen var veldig behjelpsom og hyggelig.

hôtel très agréable, très original où l'on se sent bien petit déj et diner, que du bonheur, l'environnement , magnifique. Le personnel est très sympathique. Les belles plages ne sont pas loin mais il faut avoir une voiture, c'est mieux. Comme d'autres l'ont déjà dit, dommage qu'une route vienne se construire devant, pour le moment c'est encore calme. Juste […] un défaut, la salle de bain, très petite, cabine également, alors que les chambres sont très spacieuses, mais ce n'est qu'un détail. Nous avons été ravis par le choix, pas de surprise.
