This hotel is a nice change of pace from the impersonal chain hotels. It has a very distinctive feel. It isn't the most posh hotel around, but it is perfectly comfortable, and the Queen Anne neighborhood where it is located is a great place to stay.

This hotel is classical. Staffs are very kind. Breakfast is good. And I like a mini kitchen. And there are big market.Sushi is good in the market. But, somthing is old so,the hotel has a smell like old house. Anyway I like everything that has true heart.

We wanted a hotel which had character rather than a chain hotel. It definitely fit the bill, although we found the rooms a little strange, especially the closets. There was an old smell about the hotel which took some getting used to. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the convenience of the location to the Seattle Center and shopping was exceptional.

This hotel is located about 3 blocks from Key Arena, so you don't have to worry about traffic. There is a great Irish Bar less than a minute walk from the Hotel. The only slight down side to this hotel is that a room on the ground street side is quite litterly on the street. You can open open the window and climb out right on the sidewalk. But other than that, this was a great hotel with a comfortable bed.

Although the hotel offers a lot of comfort amenities, the staff was still willing to offer and help with other travel needs that were not explicitly noted. All of our travel needs were met and more--completely exceeded our expectation on a holiday weekend when Seattle was very busy with multiple visitors.

Beautiful old building, well decorated rooms, lots of space to put luggage etc. We had a room at the back of the hotel away from the street and it was very quiet. Hotel staff were very pleasant and eager to help. The only drawback was that the bed could have been firmer. Overall a very pleasant stay. I would stay here again anytime.

i was very pleased with this hotel. it was very comfortable and the feeling of staying in a small apartment. the staff was very friendly and eager to help. the surrounding neighborhood has many restaurants and coffee shops - the pizza across the street is outstanding. it is an older building and if you are looking for modern glitz - stay at the Hilton! Myself - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to future visits.

I really enjoyed the decor at the MarQueen hotel. I like the fact that it's not just another modern generic place. It's unique and has a class of it's own. The spa is nice and the complimentary breakfast is adequate. I enjoyed the service as well. I would definitely stay again. A satisfied customer.

We just stayed 1 night and chose this hotel for it's location. We walked to Seattle Center and the Space Needle. Took the monorail to Westlake Center and walked a couple blocks to Pike Place Market. Room was much larger than I personally needed, and quite comfortable. Continental breakfast was quite fresh and good.

we were pleasantly surprised how spacious our room was. It had two king beds and a full kitchen. and a small living /parlour room. very comfortable except we could not get the air to work for us and it was a little warm. but they also provided a continental breakfast with baked goods, yogurt and really good coffee, that was most convenient and made you feel like home, to just get up and go down for breakfast. we would definetly stay here again when we are in the area.

Avaliado por David de Chandler em Jul 23, 2009
The hotel is very nice. Everything about it was amazing, until we tried to go to sleep. There is a club directly across the street that had people screaming until around 2:00 A.M. The hotel must also be on the way to a hospital because there were ambulance sirens all night long. Needless to say we did not get any sleep what so ever. To make matters worse, every room is facing the street so there is no way around the noise. Needless to say we will never stay there again. (It does pain me to write this as the staff were amazing as well as the hotel its self.)

I understand why some people love this place, but a word of warning that may resonate with some. It's ooooollllldd in style and every other category. It absolutely reeks of "grandma's house smell". From the second i walked into the lobby I realized i'd gone to a place that was not my style. It's styled like grandma's house too, but the rooms are large and clean. Do Not, i repeat, do not let then put you in a room on the corner of Queen Anne and Mercer. It's just outside of a few bars, and about 3 feet from a busline that runs until about 1am, and restarts at 5:30. I hardly slept at all from the noise (it's a 3 story hotel so you can't get above the sound). My room as 219...stay away. They very kindly moved me the next night to a new room (109) and it was very quite and acceptable. Bed is great. Overall, just not my style of place. There are so many great hotels in the area that if 'old' is not your scene you might do better.

The hotel is converted from a historic dormitory. It is beautiful, but there is no elevator. They said there was a view, but there was no view from our windows. The price and room were great, and on hotels.com it said that there was free parking. But when you got there, they said the valet parking was $20/day, unless you wanted to park on the street. Also, the fitness center was across the street from the hotel, and most of the equipment did not work.

We loved the charm of this hotel. A lot of character and history gives you a little more Seattle experience in your hotel stay. Beats boxy hotel chains hands down. Staff was excellent and the room was great. It was basically a small apartment with kitchen, living room and multiple closets. One unfortunate aspect of this hotel that keeps it from getting a superb score... noise from the street. Any room facing Queen Anne Ave will be very noisey from traffic and pedistrians. We understand downtown rooms are subjected to city noise, but this was really bad. Could not sleep until well after 2am. Ask for room on back side of hotel or bring a fan to drown out noise. Despite this, we'll be back.

Great rooms. Felt like a small apartment, not a hotel. Great to have a kitchen, although it didn't have many electrical outlets in it. Bathroom was clean. Not much counter space in bathroom. Cool old tub had chipped enamel that needs repair and the shower sounds like screaming banshees when it's on. Co-workers in other rooms said their showers were quiet, so avoid room 216 if that bothers you. Otherwise the room was quiet and I heard that the rooms that faced the street were not quiet. Great neighborhood with lots of dining options including GREAT Mexican food right across the street.

THE KING BED: Was maybe even more comfortable than my brand new Sealy Posturepedic!!!!!!! CHARACTER: I build and work on New Custom Houses. I see them every day. It is a breath of fresh air to enjoy the old hard wood floors, and the old high quality carpentry. Nicely decorated.

Love the older hotels. The staff was exceptional. Easy to develop a relationship with the staff after only a couple days. Room was very large, view was great. Says kitchen but no ability to cook other than microwave. No matter, with all the great places to eat around the hotel. Sam's Sushi was great, 10 Mercer was great also as well as Phuket for Thai. Metropolitan Market was perfect for breakfast. We had a room on the street and was not noisy as the staff warned about. After the Marqueen we went to Vancouver and stayed at Sutton Place, a much "nicer" place, but we all agreed we missed the Marqueen.

Over 100 year old building that has played many roles through the years. As a hotel it could be just like a hotel stay in the early 1900's. 3 floors with a central staircase in the lobby. Squecky floors throughout. My room was on the 3rd/top floor. Probably the best idea with those squecky floors. Furnishings were excellent with a comfy bed and plenty of seating. A separate kitchen area that I didn't use but included a dining table with 2 chairs. Since this is a rustic old building you have to look past the retrofit pipes and electric wiring conduits on the walls and the cracks in the bathroom floor tiles. But if you can appreciate the history and quaintness of the old building it's a fine place to stay. If you drive there's not much of an alternative to paying $20/day for valet parking.

We were very pleased with the Marqueen. The staff there was very pleasant and very attentive to guests' needs. We were in Seattle for my daughter's wedding. The Marqueen is just a few blocks down Queen Anne Ave from my daughter's apt. We have not stayed here in the past, we were fortunate to find a super-saver deal for the weekend of the wedding. The rooms are comfortable and spacious but not modern. If you prefer the amenities of the modern four star hotels, this is not the place for you. But, if you like the neighborhood feel, hardwood floors, very comfortable beds and excellent service without the high rise feel, you will enjoy the Marqueen. Great restaurants - loved 10 Mercer (good happy hour specials as well!) convenient to markets, movies, easy walk to Seattle Center and the shuttle was a great bonus. Very pleased and will return dependent.

I often visit Seattle on business and make a point of staying at the Marqueen. The room is big with a kitchen and small lounge that allow me space to distribute my things and to work. Staff are friendly and the place has a lovely "old world" atmosphere. One discordant note- They have recently moved the breakfast from the lovely typically Seattle coffee shop, to a sterile room in the hotel with minimal offerings. I had to forgo the hotel's offerings and have my own breakfast back in the coffee shop. Try their capucccino...divine.

I was so impressed with our stay that I don't even know where to start. I wanted to treat my kids to a night in "the big city" and when I saw the pictures of The MarQueen Hotel, I knew my kids would love it. It had a very eloquent feel to it. My daughter, who is 7, absolutely loved how beautiful it was. The MarQueen is very charming. The building used to be an apartment complex so the rooms are set up with a full kitchen and a living room area. Even the standard rooms have this amenity. It felt very cozy. We felt as if we were at home but still had that "out of town" feel to it. The staff were all very nice and helpful. They made us feel very welcome and taken care of. They offered many suggestions for activities in the area. The hotel is conveniently located near Seattle Center and is well within walking distance. No matter your age or interests, there is something to do in this area. I was very pleased and grateful at how well taken care of I felt. I opted to have them valet park my car in their garage (for a reasonable fee) and felt secure knowing it was safe. On the day of checkout, they allowed me to leave my car in their garage at no extra cost for a few hours after we checked out so that I could take my kids back to Seattle Center for one last trip and they also held our bags for us. The only thing I can think of to mention that others may want to be aware of is the fact that since the building is older (which definitely contributes to its charm), has no elevators. So if you wish to stay on a higher floor, you will need to take the stairs. Also, our view was slightly construed due to a church being next door but being on the 3rd floor, the church's roof only slightly blocked our view, but we were able to see Seattle Center and the Space Needle to the far right. But I am sure that if you desire a nice view, they will accommodate if possible. The free continental breakfast was nice, as long as you don't mind eating light (at least on the Sunday we were there fo
