The hotel is fine, the staff is really nice, but besides all the positive aspects in this hotel there is one that I have to point out: the bed. I had the most comfortable sleeping time of my life so far - in fact, leaving the bed in the morning became a personal struggle. If it is to improve something, maybe to upgrade the restaurant menu, adding more dishes (breakfast and appetizers are fine, but I missed meals). Also, I had to pay for the hotel when I booked it - differently from all the other reservations that I ever made. So, be sure of your choice - thanks God I didn't regret mine.

The hotel has a great location in an upscale area. Paying for parking was a surprise as there was no mention in the website. One of the hotel elevators had a distinctive smell reminiscent of a fraternity house all nighter. Our room appeared clean but had wallpaper rolling away from one of the walls. We weren't certain of the bedding as one of the beds […] had blood in the sheets. Had to have TP brought to the room because there wasn't a sufficient amount in the bathroom. "Great Room and Location!"
The only negative about the entire experience was that we were stuck in a smoking room. The room was still very clean and they sprayed it with industrial Febreeze to keep the smell down, but we would have preferred just a non-smoking room in the first place. Apparently there are few non-smoking rooms available. I suggest they do away with the smoking […] rooms altogether. Leia mais

I felt the hotel was in need up updates. The furnishings were older and the AC was loud. The hallway was dark and the room was a little difficult to locate once checked in. I would recommend this hotel only if some upgrades are made.

"The Crown Plaza Hotel in St. Louis"
I would certainly recommend this hotel.. The staff was very kind and helpful and the cleanliness and atmosphere of our room was perfect.. Our kids had a great time at the pool and loved the free game room.. We will certainly continue our stays at the Plaza's going forward.

On first glance, this hotel appears quite fancy and elegant. If you desire this, you might want to keep searching. We just needed a nice soft place to lay down for the night. The system of two elevators going to different room numbers was quite confusing to us. When we did locate th correct elevator to use, it never came to our floor. We lugged many […] bags and suitcases up two flights of stairs. The room was smaller than we anticipated, and the bathroom was only passable in the cleanliness department. The desk clerks were helpful with heating up a late night snack, but the fact that there was no microwave in the room was a downer. We declined the key to the mini bar, but found it open anyway. We quickly instructed the kids to not use anything there, but it should have not been an option to open it, since we declined. In the end, this hotel is not what it necessarily seems to be. As I stated earlier, it appears to be an elegant, fancy place, but it is quite aged in the hallways and rooms. The rooms are small, especially the bathroom. It is not at all convenient to get around on the various floors and the elevator situation should be taken care of. The free video games was a bonus though. All in all, I would not book a room at this hotel again. There are other places that are less expensive, and closer to our highways and destinations, and more comfortable. Leia mais

"Crowne Plaza -- Probably just for business."
My girlfriend and I chose this hotel because the pictures on the website made it look very nice and clean. We were wrong. The staff of the hotel were fairly nice when we checked in. They weren't very friendly or talkative though. We got to our room -- which was pretty small. The bathroom was TINY. But at least it was clean. I read several reviews that […] complained about the cleanliness of the rooms, but ours was ok. We were right across the hall from the gym. I thought it would be noisy, but it really wasn't. The thermostat had a sign over it that said not to turn the temperature below 70, so the room was very muggy. My biggest complaint about the room was this: the little fridge in the room where you can unlock and purchase food/drinks from the hotel. Every single drink in that fridge, with the exception of two Pepsis and a RedBull, went out of date in December of 2008! When we reported this to housekeeping, they assured us they would be up to fix it, but we never heard back from them. We even mentioned this again upon checking out, and the staff acted as though it wasn't a huge concern to them. The only other negative thing about the hotel itself is the pool. If you go to this hotel with the intention of having fun, you'll be disappointed. The inside/outside pool is a neat setup, but the water was hot. The jets were shooting out warm water. I didn't see how this could be, since the whole pool was pretty much in the shade. With surrounding buildings blocking the sun, you hardly get a chance to soak any sunlight. Furthermore, the deep end of the pool (6 ft) is on the inside, and the deepest part on the outside is only 4 feet. So if you want to swim outside, prepare to crouch. However, the most important thing I have to say about the pool was that it was DISGUSTING. There were dead sweat bees, feathers, and other bugs floating on top of the water. "Clean and comfortable"
Hotel is a little dated, but rooms were clean and quiet. Pool isn't great for lap swimming, but good for kids to play in. Location is great and would stay there again.
"NICE HOTEL - SMALL ROOM"
This is an older, but nicely kept hotel. I think my experience could have been compared to meeting an old rock star. -probably really something in his/her day. Truly my only real criticism was the size of the room. Our room was slightly bigger than a queen sized mattress.

The hotel has a beautiful lobby and a convenient location. I am picky about cleanliness though. The major things in the room were in order, but it was obvious that the room hadn't received a detailed cleaning from past guests.

"Great room for the money"
Situated in a very nice part of Clayton and walking distance to very good restaurants which caters to customers of all income level. Very curtious staff. Enjoyed the stay
"Needs Improvement"
The location was great for where I needed to be. However, I has to ask 2 days in a row for my bathroom to actually be cleaned. There were items left in the shower from the previous guest who stayed there, so clearly there was no attention to detail when cleaning the room.

"Great location, Outstanding staff"
This is a very nice hotel in the heart of Clayton MO. The St. Luis County Courthouse is nearby and other county offices. Lots of hotels and restaurants in the area. The staff was very helpful in relocating me after I requested a room that was not next to an ice machine. One drawback (not related to the hotel) is St. Louis County allows smoking in bars […] and the bar/restaurant are a continuous facility, with a sports bar motif. "location is great"
location is just outside the main city but was right around the corner to the rail. you have about 50 restaurants near by and like 60 bars, too crazy. i was very pleased with the overall service and although someone had put flowers in our room that werent ours, and it showed on the actual flowers the room number, they tracked them down and gave them […] to the right person. definitely will use that hotel again next time im here. This hotel had lots of character for an older hotel. The beds were excellent! The location was perfect for our needs. I would stay there again.

"Not worth the price"
Room was hot even with AC full blast. Room was tiny. Only 33 channels on the TV. Picture was real fuzzy on all channels. Service was good with friendly staff, but definetly not worth the money and I will not be staying there again.
"Nice Hotel but the Breakfast buffet was inedible"
The hotel was convenient, comfortable, the service was excellent. The restaurant was filthy and the food horrible. I stay at lots of hotels and this restaurant was the worst.

The foyer was under construction so it was a bit messy. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean. Dinner at hotel restaurant was quite nice and not expensive.

This is the second time we have stayed here when visiting St. Louis. They are m aking improvements and it definitely looked better this time around. The beds are very comfortable to be hotel beds! "Priced Right"
Currently the hotel is undergoing some renovations. The room has a mixed of some old bits with newly renovated stuff. Overall descent. The staff were polite. There is a nice small pool and a old arcade games room. You have to pay a lttle for parking but it is fair. "Crowne Plaza Hotel- Clayton,Mo"
We stayed stayed the night for our anniversary. The only issue was dirt in the bath tub. no big deal.
"Great Service, Great Room"
The Staff were extremely nice and accomodating. Shuttle service was fantastic. The bed was extremely comfortable, tons of crisp, white, fluffy pillows - very fresh feeling. The lobby was under construction, but as it wasn't a resort hotel, it really made no difference. The employees really made the difference.
"One complaint"
We liked the Hotel. The only complaint that we had was when we got to our room we called to the front desk and requested a key to the mini bar because our toddler saw candy and wanted some. I was told that they would send one right up but it never came.

Some work going on but not too bad. Breakfast is confusing. We paid for it but you had to get it through room service. Loved the 42 inch tv in the deluxe room.
