Bom hotel, boa localização e atendimento de qualidade. Não recomendo reserva com café da manhã, muito caro. Bons locais próximos para café com preços muito melhores. Próximo da área portuária e das Ramblas onde muita coisa acontece. Fácil acesso a toda a cidade. Recomendo

O hotel é razoável. A localização também razoável, perto da Las Ramblas e em frente a uma estação de metro. Contudo a proximidade com o comercio dominado pelos imigrantes é um ponto negativo que torna a vizinhança ruim. Paguei caro pelo que ofereceram.

Otimo hotel. Muito bem localizado, serviço muito prestativo na recepção. O cafe da manhã e otimo e os quartos limpos e novos.

Na primeira noite me ofereceram um quarto de frente à avenida principal que é muito movimentada e com um barulho intenso. No dia seguinte me transferiram, a pedido, para um outro quarto tranquilo e muito bom. Funcionários muito simpáticos e prestativos. O único inconveniente foi a internet, que embora gratuita, tem uma conexão bem lenta.

Otimo hotel, quarto grande, atendimento excelente, muito educados. Localização muito boa. Tem uma estação de metro praticamente na porta.

Cheguei em barcelona pela primeira vez e perguntei ainda no aeroporto onde ficava o hotel e a moça já me deu as coordenadas de como chegar. Desci na estação Paral-el e o hotel estava bem na frente do metro: Ótimo. Do hotel da pra caminhar pra vários lugares e tb tem vários restaurantes. O hotel é super limpo e as pessoas que trabalham lá são mto amigaveis […] e se esforçam pra te explicar as coisas em portunhol. Também é mto confortável, com banheira no quarto e piscina no terraço. Este hotel está muito bem localizado em Barcelona, apenas a duas quadras de Las Ramblas e bem próximo ao porto. Fica em frente a uma estação de metrô, e tem fácil acesso aos principais pontos turísticos da cidade. Recomendo.

Bom hotel mas não oferecer internet free é ruim! Hoje 2011 ainda ter hotel na europa desse nível sem internet free é um absurdo.

I highly recomend Universal Barcelona - It has a excellent localization , good services and a cost/benefit relation.

very comfortable, pleasant and friendly environment

Not a great hotel to look at from the outside, but clean, modern and comfortable inside. It has a great location next to the metro and close to the main attractions. It was only a short walk to the Ramblas and the promenade. The only thing that spoilt our stay was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

v ery nice rooms were very big for europe standards service was very hepful and is very close to la ramblas and most tourist site by metro which is around the corner

This hotel was within walking distance to Port Vell , Navel Museum, and La Rambla. The Metro line was right out of the front door. The front desk staff were very friendly and helped with directions to many of the sites. The bed was comfy and the room had a decent varity of TV channels in English! Nice hotel in good location; just a metro stop away from the heart of Las Ramblas shopping and activities. The metro is literally out the front door! Our room, a triple was very nice, quite large, and with everything we needed. Plenty of closet space. Wireless internet service throughout. Internal room with no windows an weak lighting.

We stayed 6 nights over New Year 2011/12. The hotel is modern, clean and conveniently located with a Metro station just outside the door, within walking distance of La Rambla. The metro station also serves the funicular to Montjuic Park. Plenty of small, neighbourhood restaurants and tapas bars around. Our room was comfortable, but was on the inside […] of the hotel, so rather than an outside window had a frosted glass window onto a light well, but this made for quiet nights as we weren't disturbed by the traffic on the street outside. The bed was especially comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well equipped and the heating/air conditioning system worked well. The roof terrace has great views over Barcelona, but, despite the info we got on booking, the pool is closed during winter months (our booking said it was open, but unheated). Our only niggle was that the cleaners didn't reach our floor until 3-4pm in the afternoon, just as we tended to be returning from a day's sightseeing for a few hours' rest before heading out for dinner. On 2 days we decided we needed a nap more than the room needed a clean so put the 'do not disturb' card on the door. Unfortunately, that just meant that the reception desk phoned the room to check whether we wanted it cleaned so we were disturbed anyway! One morning we had to report a slight leak from the bathroom ceiling, presumably from the room above and this was sorted out before we got back in the afternoon. There was a good range of food for breakfast, including a selection of fresh fruit, and we enjoyed eating in the restaurant a couple of evenings. There's free internet access in the rooms, but via a cable rather than WiFi. We were able to borrow an ethernet cable from reception. Generally, this is a very good hotel in a very useful location. The Metro lines are right outside the hotel, as well as the funicular to Montjuic. The design of the hotel is really nice, and the way the rooms are laid out is good. The breakfast buffet is very good. I could hear the family upstairs and the rooms next to me. Not a huge problem, but something to be aware of if you plan to stay there and need quiet. The Barcelona Universal was a great hotel for me. Convenient, with a Metro stop directly in front of the entrance, and within walking distance of the marina, cruise port, and Las Ramblas. The hotel has a very contemporary design and has a bar on the entry level and a restaurant on the 1st floor. There is a small rooftop pool, exercise room and rooftop […] garden/sunning area. The views from the roof are great. I did not eat at the restaurant, there are many sidewalk cafes on Avenue Paral-Lel. Ler mais

In 2010, we stayed at this hotel prior to our cruise. We liked the location, and the room we stayed, we decided to book the same hotel this year before and after our cruise again. The room we had was even better. Large size, king size bed, with better configuration. There is a small dividing wall that provides quietness when my husband went to bed, […] and I kept the TV on. There is an additional TV on a stand for the "bedroom" side, The bathroom is really nice size, long counter, a magnifing mirror, and a huge round tub! It has the toilet in a separate area. We truly enjoyed our stay there, ate their buffet dinner twice, very good selections. My only concern is the lighting in the room. Evidently previous guest had the similar problem, and we used the floor lamp nicely in the "living room area" There is the metro station right outside the hotel, a few eating places for breakfast, etc.on the same side of the street if you do not wish to venture too far. It's a few blocks from La Rambla, the big department store, and many shops along Gracias. The staff is very friendly, helpful. Last, but not the least, it's their free Internet, and Wi-Fi. We have no complaints whatsoever. If we visit Barcelona again, we will stay at this hotel again. Ler mais

GREAT LOCATION BUT NOT @ ALL 4 STARS!

The hotel is very clean and modern. Most important of all for me was that the bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly. The metro is situated in the corner, but it is conveniently located for people to walk to interesting tourist sites as well.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is right in front of the Para-lel station which is very convenient. The neighborhood around the hotel is just OK, not really much to see except taking the train up to Montjuic. We got the buffet breakfast which I really recommend. Everything was delicious and fresh and there's something for everyone […] (Spanish omelettes, ham, sausages, or more "continental" fare). Not many complaints except the shower door didn't cover the shower the whole way so we were always getting the bathroom floor wet whenever we took showers. Also, our room was overlooking the busy Para-lel street and it was kind of noisy, but not too bad. If you're a light sleeper, it could be a deal breaker. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Ler mais

Hotel and staff were everything we were hoping for, pleasant and helpful throughout. Hotel location could not have been better for our weekend stay.

Room was nice (large for Europe) and clean. Bed was comfortable. Biggest complaint was the street noise. Do not accept low floor on front of hotel or you will feel like you are sleeping in the street. Car noise, people yelling, talking...etc. (subway station is right in front of hotel making it convenient but a high traffic area). The hotel was modern, the staff friendly, the location very good and it was quiet. Very comfortable stay with good amenities. My only complaints would be that we had only one small location in our room that we could access the free wireless internet and no bath mat and the floors were very slippery when wet. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room for the money. The internet connection was fast but use a hard line, WiFi not so much. The showers were great with plenty of hot water. Location was convenient. Order the Sangria at the bar, it was great. For rooms facing the street, the blackout curtains help but does not totally block street noise. Hotel excellent position, short walk from city centre & beaches. Ideal for Metro & bus routes. Room was large and clean, be it a bit noisy at the front of the Hotel overlooking the main road. Did not eat in the Hotel, Numerous bars and cafes just outside. Would recommend Hotel to others.

Excellent location right next to the metro and 5 mins walk to the ramblas and harbour, Good pubs and shops nearby also, Rooms were ery clean and comfortable as was the rest of the hotel, buffet breakfast was excellent and i would highly recommend this hotel for anyone going to Barcelona.
