"Galt House - perfect conference hotel"
This hotel is central and easy to locate in Louisville. I stayed here while attending a conference in the hotel, so it was ideal during free time to go back to my room. I had a suite on the 'Suite Tower' and it was very spacious. The decor is not modern but is tasteful. The room was very clean and housekeeping came in each day to tidy up. The staff […] were friendly and happy to assist with anything. I ate in Magnolia a few times and it was fine - more like family dining with a simple menu. I also picked up some food / coffee at the 24/7 cafe within the hotel which was convenient when in a rush. I would recommend eating in one of the many restaurants located outside of the hotel though. The conference rooms and ballroom were well equipped and great for our purpose. They did have air conditioning on which was very cold for October but staff happily turned it off when requested by attendees. Overall, I was happy with the Galt House Hotel! Leia mais

Very nice. Easy to check in. Up graded our room to a suite. NICE view.
"Unacceptable."
From the moment I called Reservations to book, I received bad service. I asked if my dates were available and the woman irritably said yes, I told her I'd call right back. When I called back a guy answered and before I could barely give my dates he says they are sold out. I said well the the girl I just spoke with said you had a few rooms available […] 2 minutes ago. He gets snappy and says "Well I checked and now there are no rooms" I said okay and hung up and decided to check online for other properties through Hotels.com instead. While I'm on Hotels.com I see availability at The Galt house. So I decided to go on the Galt house website and there were rooms available there as well then I called the hotel to double check and a girl answered and said they still have a couple of different room categories available. I decided to just book it on Hotels.com because of the service I had previously received, I don't know why the other agent would say they were completely booked when they weren't and be completely rude with me. So I arrive at the Hotel on the day of my stay and a Front Desk girl named "Tomika" was very sweet. I asked for a King bed but she explained she only had 2 queens and that she could check me into a King bed the next day if I extended my reservation which I had planned. I was going to just keep the queens but it was right next to the ice machine and vending machine. My door shook every time someone got a soda. I could hear loud talking etc from my suite so the next morning I called down really early and asked to extend my reservation for another night and to move to a quieter, preferably king room. A front desk person named Mary answered. She was beyond rude. I asked her 2 questions. "Can I extend my reservation another night and also Can I move to a King room" ...The response was everything but an answer to my questions. She told me to book it online like I did before because she doesn't know what rate I was booked at, Kings didnt have good views, Housek Leia mais
"Save your money"
For the cost, I imagined much more. Was very disappointed. Bigger rooms does not make up for the lack of elegance and updates. Wish is had saved some dollars and stayed somewhere else.

"Great getaway"
Staff was super friendly and helpful as we had not be to the area before. Found a great place to eat and people watch only 4 blocks away (fourth Street Live). Very safe area to walk around and enjoy the sights.
"Not worth the price"
For the price,, I was extremely disappointed. I really expected a 4-star hotel but I was terribly let down. These hotel rooms are literally comparable to a Days Inn , Red Roof Inn or LaQuinta-very, very outdated. The carpets were stained. There were even stains on the comforter. There was a strong, sour, nasty stench in the area where the elevators […] were-the kind of smell that makes you sick to your stomach. I was told that there was another tower of rooms that was renovated but it was an additional cost to stay in that area. I was not willing to pay the additional cost.The staff were friendly and nice. "Try to get room on same side as reception desk!"
I've stayed at the Galt House on two separate occasions on business over the last few months. It is not a chain but an independent and is very large with two connected towers. The staff was extremely friendly on both occasions and there's a very nice woman who is also pretty funny who answers calls for room service. I have stayed in both towers and […] the first time I had a room in the tower opposite the reception desk and the second time got a suite when on the same side as the reception desk . I had some trouble getting a decent wi fi service in my room so they were very nice and gave me another room with an upgrade. There are tow restaurants both of which do room service - one is very good and the other sub-par

My husband and I stayed 2 nights here in our 2nd wedding anniversary. we had no problems getting our room. walked right up to the friendly staff waiting with smiling faces and gave reservation name. the only problem we had was parking. we didnt realize it was a 2-tower hotel and parked on the opposite side. once we got that figured out it was fine! […] Very close to alot of things. right on the river front and down the street from 4th Street Live. We didn't have any noise problems within the room or even hallway for that matter. There is also a horse and carriage company that is outside the hotel in the evening (we recommend them!) we had a blast in the AL J's lounge in the skywalk between the two hotel towers. we will be back! Overall, Galt House was a good hotel. Hotel restaurants were not bad at all, with good service. Banquet was very good service, but cold, dried out food. I got a good deal on the room for a couple of nights as a last-minute booking. Came to town for a concert at the KFC YUM Center. Hotel was nice for my purposes and priced reasonably. Good location near the River and 4th Street Live. Easy access to YUM Center.

"A little slice of heaven"
The rooms (suites) were elegant, spacious, and immaculate. The restaurants were numerous (six), and the food was exquisite. The Sunday brunch at the Riview was well worth the vist. All of the staff were polite, professional and accommodating. We are already planning a repeat visit this winter.

"Very Enjoyable"
We stayed at the Galt House for two nights. I loved the room that we had. The room was clean, tastefully decorated, and had a great view of the river and pool. I thought that all of the staff were very helpful. I went prepared to spend $12 per night for parking, didn't realize that our family who came to visit would have to pay $15 for parking for the […] couple of hours that they stayed. Loved staying at this hotel..its within walking distance to anything you want to do. Louisville has the best night life i have ever seen its clean and beautiful. All the places to eat were wonderful and affordable. The only down fall to this hotel is the pool area but we didnt come for that anyway . Quite OK hotel, given that we got a very good rate over Labour day weekend. Main pros: price, location, service. Main cons: A large highway next to the hotel (I-64, I think) making noise all night long (not too loud though), dirty elevators.
"Can't go wrong with the Galt House"
We haven't stayed at the Galt House in 30 years so we didnt know how it would be. We were pleasantly suprised. The Galt House is as good as any. The location was great. The suite was huge, really needed a doorbell.

My main reason for choosing this hotel was its price. Out of all the hotels for the area, this one had the best price offer and the best location during my stay. It also has adjacent parking, which we did have to pay, but it was well worth the price for the area. "On Vacation"
Our experience was delightful....everything was within a 10 minute walking distance. The rooms were clean, a few house cleaning tips should be adopted, cleaning corners in bedroom - they were often dusty with trash particles. Everyone was so nice and helpful and it gave you the feel of belonging.

We were pleased w/our hotel. We were placed on the 24th floor of the new tower & it was nice. We had a view of the Hudson River, Muhamed Ali Center & other tourist sites. It is downtown & less than 10 minutes away from the airport. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance - upscale, fast food, casual Friday's types of restaurant. The […] food in the two restaurants was very good also. We were told this is where the "stars" stay when they come up for the Kentucky Derby. We went up to the 25th floor to see the view from the restaurant - I do think the gentleman at the entrance of the restaurant on the 25th floor could have been a bit more sensitive. I asked what type of food did they serve and I was told that it was an "upscale" restaurant. We stayed at the Galt House for the first two nights of our Kentucky vacation. We booked a Deluxe room only to find that they had an Executive Suite for us. That's a pretty good surprise. The hotel is located next to the Ohio river (with a great view) and there is plenty to do in the area. We had our 3 and 9 year old daughters with us. It was very nice. The […] only downside was a fire alarm at 8am one morning. Apparently, there was a kitchen problem the previous night and the fire alarm in the kitchen was faulty.
