Sofitel Philadelphia - Filadélfia

Great location, service great. Very disappointed with condition of junior suite. Furniture was older and beat up, no fan in bathroom, wallpaper pealing in bathroom. Not worth the $$.

Great hotel but our room needed updating very badly

We had a lovely time. Only possible negatives were that there was only one robe in the room for 2, and because it was a special anniversary (30 years) our daughter had called and was told that they would deliver a fruit tray to our room that never arrived. We did receive a nice note of congratulations from the hotel, but our daughter was very disappointed […] that the fruit tray had not been delivered. Was a lovely hotel, and a lovely room with an extremely comfortable bed, and a beautiful view of the city. Leia mais

This was a very nice hotel, well located, nice facilities and the staff was very accommodating. The room was spacious and clean and updated. However, the design of the room was very European - no drawers, just shelves in the room. The bathroom doors in our room did not prevent noise from entering the rest of the room, so it was a problem if a roomate […] was sleeping. And the shower in our room was strange. It was a small stall and you were backed up against the wall to shower. If you are short, the shower head cannot be moved enough to prevent water from hitting you in the face and because you are backed up against the wall, you can't get out of the way. I spent an evening at the Sofitel in downtown Philadelphia, and while the lobby areas, restaurants, and rooms themselves were really nice, I have two main suggestions. The lighting in the hallways are very dim and gives an overall appearance of being dingy...it could really use some brightning up. Also, my breakfast that I ordered through room service […] was so not worth the $20 price tag. While I thoroughly enjoyed my steak the night before in the hotel lobby restaurant, my eggs were chewy and and the whole meal was cold. The service was great, from the front desk to the servers and valet, I have no complaints. All in all, I would definitely return because of the service and the excellent location. Leia mais

The staff here is one of the best we've ever encountered. Immediate service, very deferential. Our flat-screen TV didn't work when we checked in, but the desk sent a repairman to hook it up immediately. Check-in and check-out is speedy. Every hotel employee smiles & says,"Bon jour", etc. The surrounding neighborhood is filled with shops & restaurants […] & coffe houses, mostly upscale. This hotel is within walking distance of Rittenhouse Square, Broad Street theatres, pubs, restaurants, hair salons & spas. Also within walking distance of the Reading Terminal, Convention Center, Liberty Bell & Independence Hall, and Old City. We would definitely stay here again. Leia mais

I have stayed in several Sofitel hotels in the US and Europe and the one in Philadelphia is my least favorite. The hotel is in a very old building and it is very noisy. my room was near something that made this very annoying ticking noise all night. The fist night could not sleep at all.

The Sofitel is located three blocks from Rittenhouse Square, and is in the epicenter of Philly's high-end shopping and restaurant district. You can walk to tourist attractions like Independence Mall and museums--long walks--and there's a cab stand across the street from the hotel if you're not up for that. Our room, with super-comfortable two beds, […] was spacious and light; the bathroom well appointed with a separate tub and shower. A few minor complaints: dust under the beds and tv, there was no coffee machine in the room, though one was readily provided when we asked for it, our room wasn't too far from the elevator, which meant we could hear loud conversations at night while people were waiting for the lift, or disembarking. I'm sorry we didn't ask for a room farther away, but I can't blame the hotel for that. This is the second time we've stayed at the Sofitel, and I would return. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a good location close to all the sights. The staff was very helpful and corteous.

A little hiccup with the valet at arrival, but otherwise a fine stay. Good food and room service. Decor is a little dated. This sofitel is not quite as nice as the Washington, DC location I have been to. That one was truly luxurious, this one was pretty standard as far as hotel accommodations go.

This hotel is perfectly located, the room was comfortable, spacious and clean, and the restaurants/bar convenient. In this day and age, however, when wifi is ubiquitous, a hotel that charges $10.00 a day for access to the Internet is simply CHEESY. We have a wedding coming up, which will be quite a Philadelphia affair; the Sofitel was under consideration […] for the reception as well as for out-of-town guests. THE HOTEL NEEDS BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE BAR AND RESTAURANTS. IT IS TAKE TOO MUCH FOR THEM TO DELIVER EVEN A SIMPLE GLASS OF WATER.... FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY YOU CAN FIND BETTER SERVICE IN PHILADELPHIA.

Lovely hotel & site. Extremely courteous staff, right from the parking attendant to the chambermaids. Room was a nice size. Bathroom was spacious, also, with separate shower stall & bathtub. Premium bath products & high-quality towels, etc. The bar & restaurant is pricey, but very nice. Check-in and check-out was speedy, even though it was a busy weekend […] (Philadelphia Marathon). Stayed here in November 2011 during marathon weekend. Hotel was busy, but still great service. Stayed here twice before. Nice restaurants within short walking distance, plus comedy club (Helium), improv (Comedy Sportz) and small live theatre about 5 short blocks away. These are all on the same block. Walked to Mutter Museum, about 10 min away. Not my […] thing, but interesting. Lighting by bed could be improved, but this is the only thing we could think of that was not perfect. I COULD NOT ASK FOR BETTER SERVICE FROM THE STAFF. RIGHT FROM THE PARKING ATTENDANT TO THE MAIDS. CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT WAS A PLEASURE. THE RESTAURANT/BAR SERVICE WAS GREAT. WOULD DEFINATLY STAY AGAIN.

Sometimes you visit a hotel and it's not exactly what you expect for the price you pay. I have to hands down say I was extremely pleased to stay at Sofitel Hotel. The staff were helpful, the room was very clean and the bed was SOOO Comfortable. The location is also right smack in the middle of everything. I would definitely stay here again.

definitely would recommend this hotel and would absolutely return.

The room was very spacious for a downtown hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, and bathroom very nicely appointed. I loved the L'Occitaine products. The location was fantastic - walking distance to great restaurants, shops, etc. but with no noise. The only thing that would have been nice was a coffee maker in the room.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Sofitel Philadelphia during the in the process of our move to the city. I thought that the hotel would provide the antidote to the stress of moving. I was wrong. It's certainly a good hotel, but not 4-star. The physical plant is nice but not aging well. Couches in the bar were worn, the room (a suite) was beaten […] up and tired looking. Unfortunately, the shower was clogged and required several trips to the desk and 2 full days to fix. In addition, the staff was pleasant but again not to the level of 4-stars. The bell staff was somewhat indifferent especially to those guests with cars. The front desk ran out of umbrellas early during a rainy evening without much apology. Service in the restaurant the first morning was somewhat slow and with a hint of being bothered. All in all, an adequate stay, but if your truly looking for a 4-star experience, you can do better. You can't ask for anything more with this hotel. Service and hotel amenities are fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite and spoiled with surprises in our room each day. Definitely made to feel like special guests! Hotel location is perfect, everything is nearby and there's no need to catch public transport […] as Philly is definitely a city that can be seen by foot. I would not hesitate in staying there again! Beds were super comfortable. Employees were great. Just bring extra money for bar, very pricey.

The Sofitel is a beautiful, modern, and clean hotel. The bathroom was gorgeous. But I found the bed to be very uncomfortable. It felt like a cheap bed - lumpy and springy - which surprised me given the seemingly high standard of the hotel. The pillows also felt very cheap and lumpy - no support at all. Maybe it was just my room, who knows!

Excellent hotel. Very clean modern rooms, feels like home. Definately worth the few extra $$ when compared to other chain hotels. Hotels.com priced it a a steal. Even the hotel themselves couldnt match the price.

the sofitel is modern and interesting but i felt like it showed it's age a bit in our room. lots of wood that is nicked and a few lighting fixtures that didn't work. also, i couldn't be helped but be wooed by the extremely sexy and beautiful and chic Hotel Palomar which is across the street. overall, i don't have any real complaints. our stay was brief, […] they were nice and it was all fine. didn't eat there - the hotel's restaurants didn't compete with all the great options in the neighborhood. The Sofitel Hotel, for a big city, was 'ok' - we were very pleased w/ the service at the hotel, everyone was helpful and very friendly. One thing I was extremely disappointed in (especially in 2011) was the fact that this hotel STILL charges its guests for internet service and the rate were insane....this is the first time in well over a decade that […] I have had to pay for internet in any hotel in any city, regardless of the star rating. I would not choose Sofitel as my 'first' choice if I were to stay in Philadelphia again. Leia mais

Entering the Hotel parking can be hard to drive in, especially if it’s busy. The parking vale staff is not very helpful or courteous .

Check in process was quick, and the gentleman behind the desk did a great job upselling the junior suite. Will be staying here every time I am in Philly. Thanks again.

Great hotel room, didn't have any problems and the room was very nice.

My husband & I were in the city to celebrate a special occasion and absolutely loved the Sofitel. We will stay there every time we spend the night in Philly.

I was so thrilled with every aspect of the hotel. The valets. front desk personnel and anyone encountered was genuinely kind, friendly and willing to to take care of anything I needed. I, so appreciated my cold bottled water on the nightstand. I will definitely be back again.

Had a wonderful stay. Beautiful hotel and accommodations. Only disappointment is that there is not free Wi-Fi. For the price of the hotel, I would expect this. Even Holiday Inn or Best Westerns have free Wi-Fi.
