Como San Diego não é uma megalópole, o deslocamento de carro para todos os pontos turísticos é rápido, em particular Gaslamp Quarter e Little Italy (dois locais imperdíveis de se ir à noite). Localizado junto à praia e restaurantes diversos, é uma boa para quer quer surfar e comer. O hotel é do tipo econômico (padrão Orlando) e dispõe de lavanderia. Havia famílias americanas com crianças e estavam todas satisfeitas. O café é servido no lobby (café, leite, chá, suco e muffins doces). Se quiser, pode montar seu kit e levar para o quarto. O quarto com duas camas de casal é amplo, limpo e comfortável. A internet é paga. O entorno é seguro para um passeio à pé. Há todo tipo de comércio que precisar nos arredores. Tudo compatível com o preço. Fiquei muito satisfeito e recomendo com empenho.

The hotel is great with a friendly and efficient service. Nice breakfast. Pacific Beach is beautiful. The only negative was the surrounding neighborhood at night. Really scary to walk around !!

"Good hotel"
Everything went fine althought the first room that we receveid had no bed for our two kids. I complain about it. The reception employee said that our reservation was for that room. But when I insist that we have a reservation for 2 adults and 2 kids she gave us a bigger room with a wonderfull marina view.
The hotel was a great place to stay for my week long sailing class. My only complaint was the lighting from the street lamps shown into the room at night. The lovely wooden shutters didn't completely block out the light.

This hotel is on the marina with plenty to do and close enough to downtown without all of the hustle and bustle. Beuatiful gounds and well kept both inside and out. The staff is amazing!! Great food and service in the restaurant and lounge. We satyed there 3 nights, one before and one after our conference at the Convention Center. We had rooms at the […] Marriot Conv. "Beautiful view & close to sights"
I stayed here with my wife in January for 3 nights (Fri - Mon) and due to the time of year the area was very quiet. I could tell that in the summer months it would be a lot busier with more bustle and traffic. We were in a ground floor room in what is described as block C. Don't let this prison like description put you off at all as we thought it was […] one of the best we stayed at in our tour of California. The hotel is set out in at least three different blocks each one only two stories high. We had a ground floor room that looked out onto the harbour and the San Diego skyline. My wife couldn't stop looking. Parking spaces are plentiful and even if full there is a car park opposite that is free. On arrival the view is the first thing that makes this hotel so good. The lobby and hotel staff go a long way to maintaining that impression. It has a water feature and my wife loves those and the staff were very helpful and polite. We got to our room and it had a small area outside with two chairs so you can sit outside and take in the view - very nice. Both the room and en suite shower room were very spacious and well decorated, keeping up the standard set on arrival and it was very clean. The hotel has a bar/restaurant and we ate there every morning and two of the three evenings as the food was so good -as were the cocktails. There are other well rated restaurants nearby but we were lazy. Plus the view of the marina and yachts on the other side of the hotel was pleasant. There was a seating area outside that would be very pleasant in the summer - no one ate out there in a cool January evening. Even though the area was quiet the restaurant was busy so I would suggest an early sitting if you go in the summer. After dinner you can walk alongside the harbour and listen to the seals at the far end. The hotel is also well placed to get to the port to go whale watching, the gas lamp quarter and to get to the famous zoo - all are a 10 minute drive from the hotel. We didn't go to S Leia mais
"View on the marina"
Haveing the marina on one side of the hotel and the bay on the other side it was quite beautiful. The rooms were very nice. My complaints : We were on the ground floor and could hear every movement from the room above us. Check in was suppose to be 3pm,and even though we did an early register at 9am we didn't get keys to the room until 5 pm.

"Great Staycation!"
I needed to get away for a bit of R&R and didn't want to drive or fly. Took me 10 minutes to get to Shelter Island from my home, but I felt like I had gone to Hawaii! Nice rooms, great location with the bay across the street. Pool, bar, restaurant, and spa facilities. They should have special rates for 'staycationers'. It was fabulous! "Good performance"
Good cost performance. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was also comfortable because sheet which as fine as those of Higher rank hotel. Interiors were cool.
"First time stay @ Best Western Plus hotel"
The hotel is nice. It's a great location. It's about 15' local drive to Sea World and Seaport Village. The only drawback is that our room was not ready when we check-in. After 45' patiently awaiting, the frondesk lady was nicely enough to upgrade our room to one bedroom suite, and gave us a $40 voucher for dining at their restaurant. We really enjoyed this hotel. It isa little out of the way, but if you have a car is easy to get anywhere you need to go. Nice quiet location. Great view of the marina. Enjoyed the restuarant, and there are other restaurants within walking distance. One of the pools was closed when we were here, but the one that was open was really nice. "Best Western Plus Island Palms"
Loved this hotel. The room had one of the best views in San Diego! Shopping, food and entertainment was really close. We went to Sea World and Cabrillo National Monument. Will definitely stay again!
"Noisy room"
Its location is quite nice. However its room is too noisy. We couldn't sleep well in both 2nights as could hear all the noise from upstairs when people got up, walking or moving. Really disappointed!

"repeat stay"
This is our 3rd time at the Island Palms and we're already planning out next visit! Also, we've brought friends who enjoyed it as well. Can't wait for our next San Diego adventure and staying at the beautiful Island Palms on Shelter Island.

The Hotel's accommodationsations were fine but soon after our arrival, out toilet overflowed and we had to call maintenance and housekeeping services. They performed their duties as expected but the floor just outside the bathroom door and in the closet were wet but also appeared to be very dirty. Looks like you need to shampoo carpeting in your rooms […] at least once per year as this is one of my criteria I use to judge a hotel. The property is a little deceiving from its entry, but the rooms are great! A cozy cabin feel, 5 minutes from the airport and surrounded by water. Convenient to downtown San Diego, Sea World, and most of the local attractions. I recommend this place highly!

"great location, great hotel"
The location of this hotel is wonderful, the bay on one side and the marina in back. The rooms are clean and the size was good. Small fridge and even a microwave. Will definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends. Linda Calgary AB
"We will stay again at Island Palms Hotel & Marina"
Island Palms Hotel was built about 60 years ago and has been well maintained for its age. It is clean and a comfort to stay at. It is located on the outlet/egress of San Diego Bay facing across toward Coronado Navy Base to the South. You can see the city high-rise buildings, the Coronado Bridge, and the Pacific Ocean by simply turning your head from […] left to right. The North side of the hotel faces the mainland separated by a large marina of sailboats and cabin cruisers. We stayed at the hotel for three days starting with dinner in the sports bar watching Sunday Night Football on large flatscreen television sets. The food was great. I saw another couple order shrimp cocktails after they saw ours being served. Five large shrimp in a great sauce. I noticed that several people from the marina area ordered take-out food from the restaurant for their parties. On Monday, we were enterained by the activity from the military base. We saw activity that might suggest we check the newspaper for international events. Our query was answered the next morning when an aircraft carrier floated by our room coming into port at San Diego. What a sight. Several of the rooms have table and chairs placed outside to enjoy the environment surrounding the hotel. We spent much of our time doing just that. Leia mais

Pros: - Location: Excellent. - Interior condition of room: Very good. Cons: - Exterior condition of the hotel is drab. - Some noise through the walls from neighboring rooms. All told, we consider this hotel a good value and would stay here again.

I was extremely impressed by this hotel. I reserved a Deluxe Water View Room, which put me in the Casa Marina building. This was built in 2009 to very high standards. The room was quiet, extremely comfortable and well equipped, and the view from the balcony was lovely - I didn't want to leave! The on-site restaurant is good, and has a nice outdoor area next to the pool with a view of the marina. The only real downside of the location is there's not much within walking distance. We just got back from our San Diego trip and stayed in the Best Western Plus IslandPalms Hotel. They were very friendly with prompt service and clean rooms. We ate in the resturant the first night 1 of us is a vegetarian and nothing on the menu was vegeatrian friendly being so close to the ocean. "Great Hotel on Shelter Isand, San diego"
5 nights in early October - exceeded expectations! Great value with easy access to all the sights in the SD area. However you must drive albeit there are 3-4 restaurant bars within a 1 mile walk. this was the best of the 6 hotels we stayed in during our our california roadtrip.

The location of the Island Palms is very good. Within minutes of downtown and plenty of restaurants nearby. Our room had two double beds and was a tight fit for two adults and two children. What a great place to end our holiday at, this topped them all. The customer service / staff were fantastic. The location and venue was relaxing and made you feel very comfortable and the location on the strip has water on either side of the venue.
