Enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

The appearance of the hotel is very esquisite! But for the amount of money that I spent and the Four Star rating, I expected much more! The pillow topper for the bed was stained in many places and there was hair in the bed on both the pillows & sheets! AND I HAD NO VIEW! I was so displeased! The room was very small. There was a wet stain on the floor. Our room looked out at a brick wall about three feet away. I couldn't wait to leave and would never stay there again!!

Wonderful location, nice staff and very comfortable room. Can't wait to come back.

We were right where we wanted to be for the Thanksgiving holidays!

On The Ave is a good hotel for upper West side visits to Lincoln Center, the TIme-Warner building, the Museum of Natural History, etc., especially if you can gt a deal on hotels.com. It is minimalist in amenities -- no mini-bar, no bathrobes, but clean and quite.

It's a great hotel in a great location! It costs 6$ by cab to be in Times Square. Hotel staff are very nice and helpful. Cons : only one ice machine on the 12th floor... And the shower tiles needed some extra silicone. For the overall quality, they could charge 50$ more and still be reasonable.

I had to stay overnight to leave early the next day for a business meeting out of town. This is a nice, boutique hotel that was comfortable. The bathroom was universal design, and accessible for all. There's coffee, but no restaurant, which is not an issue since there are plenty of restaurants around. I would like to say that we had trouble setting the clock which was not the right time when we checked in. We called twice and I went down to the front desk once and each time we were assured that it would be done. It never was attended to. We were concerned about asking for a wake-up call, but we were stuck. At least we got the call. We stayed in room […] 511 and the wall beside the toilet was filthy and probably has never been cleaned, that's why there is a smell in the bathroom. The staff is friendly, and courteous, but it would be even better if they were effective. The location is great and since our daughter lives 5 minutes away, it's perfect for us. Next time, as much as I wouldn't want to, I would be after the staff until any problem was corrected. It's not the way I like to travel. The location is great and close to many amenities. Leia mais

Disappointingly no room service facility for either food or drink. Not clear at booking. Stated close to Madison Ave but not the case.

The fitness facility was not "state of the art" as described, it's a fair gym but the weights were not sufficient. Being in NY we knew the room would be small but for a 4-Star hotel, you'd expect a little more room, there was not very much space for luggage and walking room. We really liked the hotel. The service stands out. The staff is extremely polite and helpfull without be overbearing. The restaurant Fatty Crab attached is really cool, again the service was amazing. That is great service. The only mark against the hotel was the bathroom in our room. The vanity is not inviting and was not installed properly and represents a bad design. Some of the floor tiles were losse so I worry about bacteria and water underneath the tiles. I know it sounds petty but those things stand out to me. I have stayed at this hotel four times in the past year. It is well priced for the area -- and the rooms are modern and clean. The front desk folks are helpful and there is a restaurant coming in the near future. Everything was good except one elevator was broken the entire time we were there....

The lobby of this hotel is gorgeous. Modern, clean, and it even smells wonderful. Checking in was a breeze, and when we asked for a quiet room, it was no problem. Yes, the elevators were slow, but there are 2 sets, so no biggie. We got to our room, which was tiny but good enough. It was clean, but could have been cleaner. I just don't understand why people find it so hard to close their doors without slamming them. This woke us up several times, all night. Weekend repeat stay at premium rates this time. Hotel had 1 elevator not in service all weekend and not fun from 12th floor. Bathroom sink leaked water every time used, no towels left on 2nd night. View out windows on 12th floor was of brick walls on 2 sides. Food and bar would have been nice. At this price, NY has better offers.

I booked this hotel at the last minute, I had a bit of an emergency. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, more than I usually spend in NYC anyway, but I was in a bind and it seemed much better than the other options available at such short notice. I was very impressed at the hotel at first glance, and while the room looked fantastic, upon a slightly […] deeper inspection, all that glitters isn't gold. In the room: -TVs weren't hooked up properly resulting in poor image and sometimes barely watchable channels. Many cables were dangling, and it looked unsafe to adjust the positioning of the movable flat screen monitor's arm -Closet was very poorly built, wires/routers/etc dangling inside, the closet space was nearly nonexistent, though an iron was provided. -Stains on carpet and sofa -Clocks weren't set up to the right time (if at all) -There was a mini fridge, but it wasn't even plugged in -wakeup call was requested, but it wasn't received (luckily i had set my cell phone as well) -No bath mat. Plenty of towels, but it was strange to me to have to put one down (not to mention, people can slip on towels vs. bathmats) That said, the bathroom was amazing (black marble tiles with a large sink), I absolutely loved the shower, and the bath products smelled really nice and fresh. The bed sheets were very clean, and the mini Keurig machine with k cups was a nice touch. The staff I interacted with (check in and check staff in my case, but they also acted as concierge for me) out were incredibly nice and helpful when i had questions. Would i stay there again? That depends: It is very expensive, and frankly there are much better hotels at the same and at lower price points (with a better location, amenities, and service), but there was nothing wrong with On The Ave per se. If i was in a bind or needed to be on the UWS, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there. Leia mais

On The Ave was nice enough. We stayed just one night and I don't think I would have been too happy with the room if we'd stayed longer. We were put in a handicap accessible room on th 2nd floor near the linen supply closet. There was a lot of street noise as well as commotion in the hallway in the morning. The door was no light tight, so the room was […] never really that dark. The pillows were a joke. I would recommend bringing your own if you can. The paucity of towels was not consistent with the price of the room and 4* rating nor was the size of the room. The hotel listing should specify clearly that the entrance is NOT on B'way but on a side street. One of the two elevators being out of service was very inconvenient.

I really liked this hotel. I love the Upper Westside location. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I need palace to stay for a night and this was perfect. The price was great.

The hotel is always very clean and the staff very attentive. I found the location close to everything that I need. No restaurant but just out the door are at least 20 restaurants with in walking distance. I always wish i was staying for more than a day or two.

I love this hotel and stay here whenever possible. They always upgrade you if they can and are very nice. Stay here if you can!

please stay far away from this pit that calls itself a boutique hotel.... the beds were purchased from an off price center and are cheap and uncomfortable. the room is dirty and smells. the snacks which you pay for, are stale. the tv doesnt work. This is the first stay at On The Avenue in NYC. Check in was expedient and all staff were friendly and quite helpful. The room was a clean and everything worked. The shower was excellent with great pressure and roominess. There was a mini bar in the room with the usual outrageous prices for water and snacks. Much better to go outside to the stores across […] Broadway (out front door turn left to Broadway) and purchase water and snacks there. Also there's a Duane Reade drug store just up a block on Broadway and a larger one on 79th and Amsterdam a short walk away. Loads of places to eat within 5 to 10 minute walk, especially on Amsterdam (out front door turn right to next street). Overall a good hotel and will stay there again. Leia mais

This hotel has warm courteous staff, comfortable firm beds, and is in such a great safe neighborhood. It was wonderful being on the west side and being able to get to midtown or lower Manhattan by subway (1 block from the hotel) quickly. Additionally this is a great neighborhood to walk in. I don't think I'll ever stay in midtown again .

Location is the only thing I can say good about this place. Old, musty, outdated and the staff could not care less for your comfort. Spend your money on a better hotel in mid-town, or save it and sleep on the subway platform. But this place is just not worth it.

Although this hotel is a tad further from a lot of the "main" attractions you have to go across the road and eat at Big Nick's.

We stayed here while visting my sister who lives on the Upper East Side and she found this hotel on Hotels.com last minute for us. Boy did we score the perfect place...it is an amazing hotel and we loved our stay here. The room was so cozy and very hip. We loved the bathroom decor. And everyone made us feel so comfortable. Clean and well located on the Upper west Side. The room was quite small and there was not a comfortable chair. It was expensive but so are most hotels in NYC. The people were very nice and attentive.

Standard rooms are tiny.

I enjoyed the hotel very much. My carpet was stained, but my room was really comfortable.

The location served our purposes. The staff was friendly. Elevators were sometimes a bit slow for no apparent reason. We would definitiely stay again.
