Silversmith Hotel & Suites - Chicago

Price was cheap and staff was very nice. Room was big and hotel was great. Location was perfect.

The Silversmith Hotel is a block away from Millennium Park and in walking distance to all the other tourist spots Chicago has to offer - Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, the Field Museum, etc. We checked in using Yelp and were upgraded to a suite. Lovely hotel, old world elegance. The valets were wonderful, efficient, and friendly. The registration process was quick and frienldy and included an upgrade. And you can NOT hear the train tracks what so ever! And it was right across the street from a private large cigar bar.

Silversmith in Chicago is a wonderful hotel. I am in Chicago several times a year and have finally found a hotel to suit all my needs and at a great price! Hotel is very clean, staff is friendly and helpful.

This hotel is awesome! You can't beat the location! Top shopping, eating, transit, and theater around the corner! High ceilings, soft beds, nice bathrooms in the rooms. Just make sure you stay on the backside of the building if your a lite sleeper to avoid the L train right outside. Staff was very friendly and helpful too.

We had a King Suite room. It was spacious and confortable. The use of wood throughout was very nice. This included furniture and trim. The WIFI worked well.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for Millenium Park and nearby theaters. One drawback is the El right outside, so the noise level on the first several floors is not good for sleeping. The hotel is not very soundproof.

The hotel is not bad, a little dated in the rooms, and for the price you would really expect a little more, such as flat screen TVs. The room was clean, but the location is horrific. The "L" train is right outside the building. If you are on one of the lower floors, good luck going to sleep at night, unless you are used to that kind of noise. I will stay here every time I am in Chicago!! I was so impressed with this hotel! Done just right, beautiful room, clean, elegant but not overdone. Real wood, fine quality doors and tv center. Clean, comfortable, nice staff. Great price, great variety of food just around the corner not to mention a place inside the hotel. Just an exceptional value in every way, The room wasn't huge but I didn't need huge. It wasn't small, it was perfect!! The bathroom was nice and big and clean and elegant, the bed was comfy and big and two big white, fluffy terry robes hanging there waiting for you! I am usually leary of such things and will stick to my own stuff but everything was sooo clean and crisp and fresh. I can't say enough good about this place! I gave the neighborhood a 4 because it is right in Chicago, but that is to be expected. You can't go wrong staying here. Within walking distance to mass transit and millenium train station. Ler mais

What a wonderful surprise! The Silversmith is a gem. It is so unassuming when you first enter, but the staff is fabulous and the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. My next trip to Chicago is one decision easier...I'm staying at the Silversmith!

Hotel is nice, good location. TV's could be more up-to-date. No glassware in room, plastic cups only. Better deals can be found in nicer hotels, Club Quarters, Hotel W if they are having a special. Hotel Sax, Hotel Allerton same thing, look for specials

Great service and facilities. Always someone to open the door or grab a cab for you. Comfortable beds. Clean rooms. Attractive Hotel. I really enjoyed my stay.

Me and my bud were there for a Bulls game and were amazed with the quality and convenience of the Silversmiths location. I would recommend not going to the restaurant downstairs for breakfast. Its over priced and the food is below average. But the hotel was top notch. I would definitely stay there again.

Only cons to our stay was the batteries were dying in our remote. I'd also recommend getting a room on the 8th floor or higher due to train right out front.

Very nice hotel. Was expecting a lot less for how cheap I got the room for. Was a shirt from whoever stayed there before tucked behind the dresser but other than that the service was good and the room was clean.

This is a wonderful place to stay. A block from the Art Institute, and Millinum Park, a block from the old Marshall Fields now Macy's on State, a quick walk to the theater district, and a brisk walk up the Miracle Mile of Michigan Ave. The staff was exceptional. The Silversmith is a few blocks from the symphony hall and the art museum--great location in the heart of the city. Expensive parking, but normal for the area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nicely appointed hotel in Prairie Style. Excellent value.

We stayed here as we had an early flight the next morning out of Midway. Got a great price and only real concern was potential noise from the El. Our room was facing the center and you could sometimes hear a "whoosh" from the trains, but not loud. The rooms are great. High ceilings make them feel big. The bathroom is nice and big with good looking […] tile. The only minor complaint is that the TVs are old CRTs, but I didn't watch more than 5 minutes on it. nice oak furniture/ television from the '90's roomy bathroom/shower did not work loop locale convenient/train kept waking me up comfy bed/train out my window the usual amenities/cheezy plastic glasses & cups time for upgrades!

The L outside the Hotel door may turn off some people, but honestly it wasn't an issue. We loved the the wood work in the room and the location. Thanks

did not like size of the room ,online seen seperated rooms by a door and a solid wall, did not have that luxury ,also had to request linens for fold out bed,and pillows, we did have a reservations for 4

The service at the Silversmith Hotel was fantastic! From the valet to the front desk employees, everyone was extremely friendly and pleasant. I would return in a heartbeat!

It is a small hotel but its better than named hotel. hosts are kind, easy to access the loop and the subway free internet access and good price

Booked online and got a great late night deal. Check in with a popular social media site and got a free upgrade to a suite! Awesome night of sleep, very nice staff. Highly recommend. And location, location, location!

I love this hotel, and stay here regularly. Remember to ask for a room at the back of the hotel so that you won't hear the sound of the El, which runs right past the front of the hotel. Although no breakfast is included, Ada's is connected to the hotel so that you can have a great breakfast there in your indoor shoes, even when it's snowing outside […] . Ler mais

Beautiful old hotel in unobtrusive loop location. Historic building, excellently maintained. Rooms were nice--nothing flashy. Free wifi was nice. Desk staff was friendly and efficient. My only bad experience, and the reason for the mediocre rating, is that the valet parking attendant blatantly lied to me about the price of parking in other garages […] in the area. I understand that parking attendants are usually reluctant to give out information about cheaper parking options nearby, but I asked the valet attendant directly whether there was cheaper parking available elsewhere (instead of the hefty $47/night charge at the Silversmith), and he lied to my face, claiming that the Millenium Park Garage was only $2/night cheaper. In fact, you can save $20/night by walking 4 blocks towards Millenium Park and using the underground lot there. I can overlook a lot of things in a hotel, but lying to guests is inexcusable. Love this hotel! All of the staff are very friendly. Reserved a room with two beds but were upgraded to a suite with a king size bed and a sleeper. We had tons of room and it worked out just fine. Love the location real close to the "L". This was my second stay in six weeks. I'll definitely stay there again if I go into Chicago

Our bed pillows were the size you would expect to find on a sofa, and not the acceptabley comfortable bed in our room. Make sure you try and get a room in the rear of the hotel, because the EL runs down Wabash, and if you are in the f4ront of the building, I can imagine it being very noisy. Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. An easy walk to many attractions.

Recommended from a local contact, the hotel was very centrally located and convienent. More of a boutique feel than a regular chain hotel, this iconic building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The decor and interior kept it uniquely atttuned to classic Chicago. Well maintained, rooms and furnishings were clean and comfy.
