otimo hotel. Quarto limpo, banheiro muito bom, frigobar, enfim, sem nada a acrescentar. Ao lado de um Walmart bastante grande. Alem de ter o Long Horn e o Olive Garden muito proximos do hotel. Recomendo a todos.

"Pleasant surprise"
After reading mixed reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and recently renovated, nice staff, and the small spread of bagels, etc. was a nice touch. Only disappointment was there were only 2 bed pillows in the room, and the down comforter was very lumpy.
"The Berkley... Nice place to stay"
Good clean hotel in Asbury. Nice bar downstairs. The bartender, Katie, was great. Courteous, professional and friendly.
"Perfect Location"
My friend and I booked a room here when coming from out of state to see The Gaslight Anthem at the convention hall. We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. The location of the hotel was PERFECT. Right across the street. All the other venues we hit up that weekend (The Stone Pony, Wonder Bar, and Asbury Lanes) were all within walking distance […] of the hotel. The hotel restaurant was fabulous, but because it was the off season, the hours were a little tricky. Parking in the hotel parking lot wasn't an issue, again likely due to the off-season. I do feel it's a little ridiculous to charge for parking, especially during the off season, but it is what it is. Staff was friendly. No complaints. We went down to get coffee/tea all 3 mornings of our stay. On the weekend mornings (Saturday/Sunday) we found that the hotel did provide pastries along with the coffee/tea. The pastries were DELICIOUS, and likely from the restaurant - these were not store-bought. The room looked nice, but there were a few minor blemishes - like a stain on the couch. The beds were VERY hard, which I personally found uncomfortable. I didn't have a problem with using the shower at all. The room rate, for being the off season, seemed very high, but I was willing to pay it due to the fact it was right on the boardwalk and literally across the street from the main event we were there for. We got lucky, however, and I noticed a week or so before the trip, the rate went down considerably, to an amount I felt was actually a VERY good deal, and I was able to re-book with no problems. On a side note, I fell in love with this city in the off-season, and can't wait to go back again. I'm not sure how great it is in the summer with all the beach crowds - but in the winter it was completely lovely, and the venues, music, and people were fantastic. I would stay at the Berkeley again in a heartbeat, and definitely recommend it. Leia mais
"The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel"
Always great to head down to the shore during the off season, esp. Asbury Park. There's so much to do and see. Our Hotel was quiet but the rate and views were awesome. They might like tap the talent of one or two of locals as it's needs a fresh coat of style as some of the carpets and colors seem to clash. Overall though we had a great time!
"Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel"
I used to live at the Shore and spent time at this hotel as a child. It has never looked better! The renovations complement the structure of this historic landmark and the staff was accommodating on Christmas evening to me and my family. Asbury Park in the winter is quite peaceful and, while the gift shops and restaurants were closed due to the holiday, […] I will definitely be returning to enjoy all they have to offer in the near future. "Excellent"
The staff was very pleasant and accomodating. I defenitely will recommend this hotel.
"Perfect for Asbury Convention Hall"
Right next door to the Absury Convention Hall. Great if you're seeing a show there.
"Lovely"
I am a jersey shore resident and lifetime lover of asbury park. I always wanted to stay at the Berkely since its amazing renovation and I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing architecture and modern styling inside. The bathroom was a little strange with a half shower door that seemed to make me chilly, let alone leave a huge puddle on the floor, […] but otherwise, beautiful. Leia mais
"Good stuff & some inconveniences"
PROS: The Berkeley hotel is beautifully renovated & has a great restaurant/bar on premises. The location is perfect. CONS: The bed is too hard for my liking. Since the location is near restaurants/bars and at least 4 music venues, people staying there are out late. I was kept awake by slamming doors & partying late into the night. I had an early morning […] meeting, so it was a little tough for me. The parking for hotel guests is very limited, and since a corporate party was in progress when I arrived, I had to really search for parking. Overall - a cool hip atmosphere. Leia mais
"The Berk"
Can't beat the location. And the renovated rooms are nice. Much nicer then before. Three issues though: * They ran out of parking in the lot in back, so they told us to park on the street. No apology and no offer to make up for the inconvenience, but not too huge a deal. * What they didn't tell us was the side of the hotel near the water was three […] hour only spots and cost twice as much. So we had to move the car again and find a spot on the other side of the hotel. Kind of a pain that they could have warned us about ahead of time, right? * Our window wouldn't shut so the wind whistled. This is on the water so the wind was really blowing. I called down to ask them to fix it and they said they would send someone "right up." Never heard from anyone. Never received a follow up. And when we got back after the show and post party (so about 4AM) the window was still whistling. And again, No apology and no offer to make up for the inconvenience. Leia mais

"Nice Place"
It's a boutique hotel, so it's not perfect -- but that's what I liked about it. I had a view of the ocean and a clean room at a decent price. It'snear the b'walk and the staff was decent. I'd go back!
"Beware the PET FEE-$100!!!!!!"
This hotel was likely renovated (successfully) during the recent credit glutted real estate boom. It is now starting to degrade, but still a great location. Food in hotel restaurant excellent though it was empty. There was a distinct 'Shining' quality as the hotel was fairly deserted in November. It is a comfortable and affordable stay on the beach […] in Asbury Park if I didn't need to complain about the USURIOUS-OUTRAGEOUS pet fee. ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! As I had pre-paid and arrived late and exhausted, I had no choice but to suck it up. I have a show poodle. I travel with her regularly and have never been so misused by a business that calls itself a HOSPITALITY service. Especially when the night manager snidely told me that it was my responsibility-if the listing doesn't state the exact pet fee "to call and ask, ma'am!" Grrrrrrr... Leia mais

The hotel is in a great location but left me feeling like I needed a shower.
Delightful hotel in excellent location. No sign stating hotel name. Seems there is a disagreement between hotel mgmt. and owners, but otherwise a convenient place to stay close to everything.

"Worth Staying for the Price"
The outside of the hotel does not represent what is inside. The nondescript exterior gives a false impression of the very modern style of the hotel. The beds are a bit uncomfortable but that is the price I will pay for staying mere steps away from the beach. Some rooms have an ocean view. The surrounding area is a bit intimidating but it is slowly making […] a comeback from what it once was. Stay on the boardwalk and in the immediate area of the hotel and you will have no problems. "A surprising gem..."
Asbury Park is much more trendy than some of its questionable neighborhoods would suggest and this hotel is makeing great strides in returning to the splendor that once marked this town. No, it is not a 5 star hotel - but it has its own charm and the bar and restaurant are competitive with some of the town's nicest places. And the location - next to […] the ocean and the revitalized boardwalk - is really quite nice. Leia mais
"Hotel Berkeley Asbury Park NJ"
Overall positive experience. However the lack of a refrigerator and cable television and alarma going off at 2:40 & 2;50 a.m. were bizarre! Even Motel 6 has both.
"Can't beat location"
This hotel is across the street from the beach. It is a historic hotel and you would see the Berkley, then I believe the Berkely Caberet hotel in old photographs of Asbury Park. When you step out into that open field with the statue of AP founder James Bradley, it can look a little daunting ...like where am I but you are really close to everything. Here […] are the downsides. Parking is not good - the hotel doesn't have the space to really accomodate but truthfully you can park on the street for the same price or find parking on sixth or seventh near the hotel. Room service often does not run - i think its weekends only. The restaurant in the hotel -the Dauphin, is excellent. One of the best of many in AP I've stayed here like 8 times now. Leia mais
"Berkeley hotel asbury park"
Great location and service have an issue with mold in the room especially the bathroom .Otherwise great experience
"Super vaca at the Beach"
We had a great time at the beach and walking on the board walk. What a place to relive memories from our parents from long ago. The swan boats were magnificient. We also got to watch a beach wedding on the jetty (complete with a Cinderalla carriage) Totally memorable. Would go back in a heart beat!!
"Close to Boardwalk..."
We have stayed here a few times and the renovations are slowly happening. We enjoy seeing it evolve. Little by Little...Close to boardwalk, beach, very nice staff... Will stay again...
"Terrible Housekeeping"
Stayed at this hotel a year ago and had a much better experience. This year housekeeping skipped our room, left us with no towels, yelled in the hallway repeatedly"Housekeeping" and used a loud walkie talkie at 11 at night, yet the next night that we needed towels because we weren't stocked any we were told we would have to come downstairs and collect […] them because everyone from housekeeping was gone for the day...the bathroom had mold all over in the shower, and the overall cleanliness of our room was horrible. The AC Unit was missing the control knob and wasn't cooling properly, and the fan had only a high fan setting-very outdated thermostat. You have to pay $10 for parking a day as a guest, they don't provide beach towels like most beachside hotels, AND the beach side room is now above some sort of club with party music playing till endless hours of the night. Very disappointed. Leia mais
"the berkley, asbury park"
2nd visit. my room was on the 7th floor, partial ocean view. terrible water pressure! the bathroom floor wasn't very clean. but the staff is always nice.
"Berkley Oceanfront - party central"
Come stay at this hotel if you want to party all night long. The paper-thin walls will assure all guests share in your fun. The management doesn't mind if large groups congregate loudly well into the night and slam doors and talk/swear loudly in the halls. We had issues with the valet service and gaining access to our car when necessary (bring an extra […] key). The location is great and Asbury Park is eclectic and interesting but I would not return to this hotel. Leia mais

"Not Bad...some improvements needed"
My girlfriend and I stayed one night to go to the beach. Nice hotel. As we read in a prior review and she agreed it was very well decorated. Our only complain were the drainage system for the shower and sink SUCKED! It took forever to drain. Otherwise it was a very nice experience.
"Luxury"
supposd to be best luxury hotel in Asbury Park.. more like a run down peice of crap

"The Berkeley in Asbury Park - up and coming"
The Good: - cool old building - lots of recent refurbishing of lobby and rooms - great location - 100 yards from beach - flat screen TV with cable (no premium channels or pay per view though) - they gave us a free upgrade to an ocean-view and waived the parking lot fee The Bad: - ongoing renovations - one out of three elevators out of order; jackhammer […] in elevator shaft for two days straight - not very good service - maid skipped our room because of do not disturb sign and then did not return later in the day; requested bottle opener and was told the restaurant was closed and they did not have one; requested a different iron since the one we had was dirty, and they never sent one - parking not free or convenient - small lot behind hotel, and since there is no rear entrance, you have to walk all the way around the building to enter; there is a daily charge for the lot; alternative is metered parking on street which could be harder to come by on weekends - stuff closed on weekdays - restaurant and pool bar do not open until 4:00; gift shop closed Despite the bad, with the discounted rates from hotel.com, I would stay here again. "Disappointed"
Personnaly checked this hotel last month. The renovations looked good and decided to book it. A section of floor tile in our bathroom did not have grout, no toilet paper and soap holder in shower. Pillows were lumpy and very uncomfortable. The guests on our floor were very inconsiderate. VERY LOUD music early morning as well as one woman signing at […] the top of her lungs by the elevator. I think the hotel needs to continue their renovations. It has potential, but we won't be back Leia mais
"I shouldn't tell to many people"
That this is a great hotel on the beach in a progressive beach town where there is always about eight things going on, even in off months! The star of the show is the ocean, and this hotel allows you access to it, either with an ocean front room or by walking across a very small street to the boardwalk!!
"Not Worth It"
I am originally from NJ and now live in TX. As part of our vacation I wanted to show my kids the NJ shore before we drove back home. I picked this hotel due to the reviews and location. The beach was convenient (right across the street), but the boardwalk was closed, so we would have to drive anyway to give them that experience. Our hotel room's window […] was broken (off it's track, you could push it out some on one side), there was no chair or anything other than the bed to sit on, no toilet paper, no soap, not enough towels (although there is a surcharge per extra person so they were very much aware of how many people would be in the very small room), and it took the a/c a very long time to cool the room off. The bathroom had literally no where to hang any of the wet towels or bathing suits as there were no bars or hooks of any kind. It was rather disappointing. The elevators smelled, some had vinyl flooring, the carpeted one had a giant stain, and the hotel was staffed by teenagers. I have no idea how this hotel was rated three stars, we splurged as this hotel was much pricier with the added charges per child. The only thing we really liked were the toiletries (when we finally got them). Leia mais
"A little pricey but good location"
Beautiful hotel. Please note bell services and breakfast services are limited to the weekends only. Parking is limited and the pool area could use updating. Rooms are clean and spacious and comfortable. Staff is friendly and professional.

"Great Hotel"
This hotel could not have been more perfect for a get-away to the Jersey Shore. It had nearly all of the amenities one could want-complimentary coffee & tea in the mornings, a great bar with tasty food, a full restaurant, pool with cabanas, outdoor dining, and a great location. The only thing missing was breakfast, even through room service it was not […] available. The beach is literally across the street-very clean and quiet. There is also a great bar/restaurant nearby where they hold bonfires and have a fantastic music scene-something Asbury Park is definitely known for! Be warned, they are still undergoing some construction on parts of the ground floor, the elevators and the balcony on the mezzanine is not complete yet. I have already recommended this hotel to friends! Leia mais
The hotel was beautiful, we had a nice view of the ocean, the only thing we were not happy about, was the air condition, it was'nt cool enough
"Poor Parking"
Very Poor Parking for Guest Cars. Pay to Play internet $10.00 for 24hrs.
"Berkeley OCeanfront -Asbury Park NJ"
Overall, the hotel was acceptable and did get the requested ocean view. Guests will see the remnants of what at one time was an elegant seaside hotel. Though close to the Stone Pony Club (of Bruce Springsteen fame) it was a little disconcerting at 11PM late arrival to have late teens / early 20's drunk and staggering into the hotel. I think the elevators […] were undergoing renovation as one or two were very dimly lit. Though the rooms were clean upon arrival the lamps had all been unplugged so not quite welcoming into a nicely lit room. We then had to hunt for the outlets to get it lit. Having the bed closest to the A/C unit, I noticed that the condensation was spilling onto the floor leaving the carpet constatnly damp on one side of the bed. The blower did not seem to be fully adjustable it felt colder and could not be regulated. The register is about 5-6 feet above the floor and blasting out air. I slept fully under the comforter (head included) so as not to be in the direct line of draft. WiFi was on a charge, which we chose to forego. The biggest problem is for parking. I called the hotel to check on arrangements and was told that there were 50 spaces available. However on arival, i was told that if no spaces were available in the back, we'd have to park on the street which meters parking at $1 per hour / $10 daily 9AM-midnight 7 days a week. THe lot was full for most of our stay and di not appear to be monitored. This situation was the most objectionable. When mentioned to the desk clerk at check-out, she apologized saying that the hotel's negotiations with the town for the use of a vacant lot acreoss the street would constantly fall through ad the township would not accept any of the hotel's offers. I chose the hotel for its proximity to the Sandy Hook beaches, there seeming to be no other hotels (the Empress a few blocks down being the only seen alternative) in the immediate beach area of which I was well familiar. Others listed were in Eatontown township or in Leia mais

This is a great old building, with renovated rooms. That are nice looking. The staff could be more friendly and service oriented. "It was ok - but was expecting better for the price"
Unfortunately the AC broke down, and the rooms didn't have enough air. We were in the 7th floor, my girls are 2 and 3 years old, and the receptionist says, open the windows.
