Hilton Newark Airport - Elizabeth

I stayed at this hotel the weekend of 9 -09 to 9-11 and everything about this hotel was amazing!! The food the bar the location! Especially the pool and spa area. 5 minutes away from a huge outlet mall.

Nothing bad at this hotel, nothing stands out either. The rooms could use an update especially the bathrooms. Water pressure on the 7th floor was weak. The food in the restaurant was fair at best, although room service was very prompt.

We wanted to save money on a three-day weekend in Manhattan. We chose this hotel because it had free airport shuttles and a great single-night price. We thought we'd take the AirTrain from Newark Airport into town each day. Turns out the AirTrain is $30 each way per person! That's $120 per day round trip for two people. But there's absolutely nothing out there within walking distance, no park, no restaurant, nothing to see or do. Free shuttle service is every 20 minutes which is great.

Took 20 mins to get the room assigned even after prior reservation. Asked for a double bed got assigned a single bed in the end. In that 20 min I had seen 3-4 people coming in and complaining about something or the other. Hotel charged $10 for parking. The only good thing was that the rooms were OK.

I would stay again very good place ,clean and confort .

Room with king-size bed was very nicely appointed. There was a problem with a movie order that was promptly rectified by staff. Only complaint: Call me old-fashioned, but it seems that if you are renting a room from a hotel they ought to give you a place to put your car for free. They got me for $12, which, I supposed could be worse, but . . .. Also, […] there were all sorts of "no parking" signs near the front of the hotel, so I didn't feel comfortable leaving my car when I checked in alone. Had a terrible experience. Room keys did not work several times, phones in the room were dead, WiFi did not work, they couldn't find packages sent to me via FedEx even though I had warned them beforehand they were on the way and had tracking numbers and arrival confirmations (later resolved). I have made a reservation for non-smocking room and got a smoking room. They couldn't give me another because they were all booked. My toilet was clogged and full of stuff from the previous stay. They fixed it and cleaned right away while I was waiting, exhausted from my long overseas flight. The stuff couldn't do any better then offer me $10 worth […] of compensation. Next morning, it was raining. The airport shuttle bus was leaking water on passengers through the sunroof, a few back seats were all wet and useless. I never stay there again. My worst stay ever. I spent three nights here within 5 days. On the 2nd round, the hotel lost power due to Hurricane Irene at about 8am. At 9am, I walked down the stairs to get to breakfast. I was impressed that they had a hot breakfast waiting for us, but disappointed that they didn't let everyone know what was going on, offer to help us carry luggage doen several flights […] of stairs. after about an hour-and-half, they put one elevator back into operation even though the power was still out, which solved most problems. good clean and reasonably priced

We booked a non smoking room, but the sheets smelled of cigarette smoke (is the housekeeping smoking while working or are the sheets not changed?) and the hallway smelled of cigarette smoke. They need to to have separate non smoking floors and not just supposedly non smoking rooms.

Stayed here as a tourist who wanted to see NY city. Liked everything about the hotel except Free shuttle from Airport. Had to wait 15-30 minutes everytime I used. I could see shuttle of similar hotel leave multiple times before i could get mine.

Everything was great. However, it would have been nice to have a mini refrigerator in the rooms.

This hotel was fantastic for the price. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, especially the maid service. The room was clean and spacious. The front desk personnel were very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay top of the line. Will definately stay at this hotel when ever I visit New Jersey.

The Hilton was a great escape from the kios of new york. Upon entering it felt like heaven...the room was clean, comfortable and our stay was fantastic!

Very nice personnel--great light dinner in the bar on a dreary day!!!

My family were returning to the UK after a vacation in the USA and the Turks and Caicos Islands, but were travelling on different days. The Hilton provided us with a convenient base adjacent to Newark International Airport and with easy communication to New York City. even though it was an overnight stay, It was extreamely welcomeing and easy for me to conduct tmy business within the confines of the hotel. great hotel staff. and excellent resturant.

The hotel was extemely nice and clean. the staff was very helpful and polite. The only slight problem with this hotel is that you should not venture out too far from the hotel lot. If you have a late or early flight from Newark Airport, this hotel is very convenient. It has a free airport shuttle too. Indoor Pool and jacuzzi are very good. Waiter in the restaurant is very helpful and friendly as is the bellman.

the actual stay this time, was not long enough. It's a great property and in a great location if you need to get to the airport right away and that was exactly what I needed for this stay.

This place is hard to get to. You are literally walking distance from the airport and yet you can't get there and have to drive 15min because of the weird freeway in the area. The hotel is okay. The hotel is ok, of course; but wifi in rooms isn't free, and in the hall I had to try 4 times with diferent access code to get connected. I didn't expect that in a hilton hotel.

This is a decent hotel and I'm satisfied customer. But if someone is planning to commute to newyork on a sightseeing, be advised that the to and fro ticket to Penn station NY to Liberty international airport is $25 per person, although the trip is reasonably fast if you catch the hotel shuttle at P4 in time.

Despite an initial good impression due to an initial excellent front desk experience my stay almost ended in disaster. After a late night check in I found that my key card didn't open my room. On returning to front desk this was rectified by offering a new room with security accompanying me to ensure I managed to gain access the second time. The room […] was comfortable but public and corridor areas looked 'tired' and dreary. Having arrived late I headed to bed only to be kept awake by the noise of the central air conditioning system. The noise (depending on where you were in the room) was a cross between a noisy refrigerator and the thumping sound of a distant helicopter. As my flight was not until early evening the following day I decided to check out early, store my luggage at the hotel and head into New York. This was almost a big mistake. I calculated what I thought was sufficient time to get back to P4 for the hotel's shuttle which was supposed to pick up or drop off every 15 minutes. I waited and waited watching Marriott, Sheraton, Holiday Inn and many others arrive several times yet no shuttle from the Hilton materialized. As 2 shuttle pick up times passed by I became increasingly nervous. I called the Hilton and they told me they'd has mechanical problems but that a shuttle was about to leave (you'd imagine that they'd have more than one shuttle van but that didn't appear to be the case on this day). Eventually approx. 20 minutes later it arrived. I asked the shuttle to wait for me before leaving for the airport, retrieved my baggage. On my rapid return to the shuttle despite explaining my experience and that it was now touch and go as to whether I could catch my international departure the driver refused to depart for another 10 minutes and was generally uninterested in the problem even though the root cause was the hotels inability to keep to their shuttle schedule. Stayed on a night where I could enjoy the facility, great gym, pool, hot tub area. Restaurants are fair, staff was very friendly. Hotel is clean and nice with a high end appearance.

I would recommend this hotel for a traveler. I flew into Newark with my family at night, and moved on in the morning. The hotel was fresh, comfortable and a good deal. My overall impression of the hotel is "on the ball." The pool was nice too. We are experienced travelers, U.S. and abroad. Toilet was dirty. When we called for extra towels we never got them. I had to grab one from a cart outside. Never again.

The staff was very friendly but there are no restaurants nearby, you must eat in the hotel which is pricey. Our room rug was very spotted but the room was otherwise clean WiFi in the room is $10/day and the parking lot was many warnings so crime must be a concern. The airport is closeby which is the only reason to stay here.

When i kooked this room on hotels.com they warned me about fee for pet, but nothing about parking. the hotel upon request offered us a mini fridge at no extra charge, but they charged us another fee. ($15.00 )

The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable. Room service was very prompt and the meals were more then generous. The only item I wish the hotel offered would have been an in-room fridge. Other then that I had a great stay and would stay there again.

Lower any expectations of what a hotel with 'Hilton' in the title should be like and you'll be fine. The staff seemed to be friendly and polite, if you were friendly and polite first. The room was a good size, clean and tidy in appearance and the bedding was crisp and fresh and the bed itself was very comfortable. I slept very well and it was quiet […] too. It is ideally located for the airport and the shuttles run well to and from P4 Station at Newark, which is great for a quick transfer to the NJ Transit station and on to Penn Station in NYC. I did, however, get a taxi to catch my flight in the end with my luggage, as I didn't fancy lugging suitcases into/out of the shuttle to navigate the monorail to get to my terminal at 5.30am. Although the room had a fridge, which in itself was a good thing, it was quite old and a bit noisy. My shower on the first morning was cold and I was also a bit alarmed by the advice in the hotel guide insisting that no valuables be left in the room and to use the free lock-boxes at the front desk. Maybe they need to be cautious because of a few incidents....I don't know, but everything was in order when I got back to my room after a day out. The bellmen were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was exactly what I expected for an airport hotel. I would recommend it for an over-nighter for an early flight or a handy location to visit the city from. Leia mais

A good choice for a layover or early departure from EWR. Hotel was clean, quiet and efficient. 24/7 Shuttle to EWR was a plus.

We flew into Newark after a 4 hour delay due to a big storm in Newark, we arrived at the hotel at 4 in the morning. The front desk was so wonderful and professional. They gave us a late checkout,so we slept well and we had a nice start to our day.
