We had an excellent stay at the Dom Henrique, it was well positioned in the city and great value for money. The breakfast was continental and extensive. The Bar was on the 17th floor and has great views by day and night, a bit more expensive than average city prices. We visited a number of Port houses, Taylors being our favourite, it has the best tour and views. The room was a good size and clean, tv is limited. the staff very helpful. We eat at Taylors very good, but expensive, Real Thai superb and the Majestic also a very good experience. We also walked to the sea area at Foz along the river and although a 5 mile was well worth it with great little beach bars with great views of the atlantic. Bars were ok with the best around the river and bridge area. Shopping is limited. Things to do are the river trip, and maybe the tourist bus, a few churches and museums. The people are very friendly and weather was superb it was 25 degrees at end of October which made it for us.

I stayed with my daughter and five year old grandaughter. The staff at eception took the time and trouble to ensure that we had adjacent rooms. This meant that we were upgraded to two suites at no extra cost. The hotel was not as central as I had hoped and, while it's easily possible to walk into the centre, it's uphill on the way back. Taxis are cheap though. Fantastic view from the 17th floor bar.

ok location, decent breakfast - some choice but we have had better in portugal (eurostar hotel das artes) bar on 17th floor with good views (but very expensive drinks!) staff friendly amenities could do with update - e.g. very old fashioned hair dryer (air in a tube) and decor dated - its a bit of a 70's hotel! decent hotel for the money though and near some nice cafes and st catalina street.

Very friendly staff reception exceptional found very helpfull, room excellent we stayed on 14th floor with balcony and had an excellent view of the city, bar on the 17th floor also very good view. As the hotel is circular every room offers a view. Breakfast a bit disappointing as only scrambled eggs and bacon with small sausages every day but the usual for continental still very nice,we were there for the festival in June so Hotel was full and you may have to wait for table, all in all a very good hotel and we hope to go back in Sept.

We were in Porto for one reason only: Port wines. This hotel was a bit out of the way and not in the best of areas. The staff was indifferent, especially the bellman, and the dinner we had was awful; poorly cooked, poorly served, uninspired and overpriced. The service was borderline rude. The dining room is small and that creates traffic problems at breakfast. Compared to our stays in the the rest of Portugal, these people were definitely NOT representative of Portugese hospitality. The room was large by other Portugese hotel standards and very clean, but was also well worn. The other issue we had was the availability of power outlets...there were none! ALL the lights were hard-wired in and there was literally no outlet to charge our electronics (phone, laptop, etc.). The only outlets were in the halls.

We booked just a twin room in the hotel for 6 nights. To our surprise we were given a huge, comfortable apartament, worth couple of times more. The hotel is conveniently located, close to the town centre, very clean, hotel staff is helpful and speaks English. We enjoyed every day spent there.

A modern, multi-story hotel well situated for a short trip to the river. My single room was actually a twin bed, spacious and well kept. Being on the twelvth floor it was a short ride up to the bar on the 17th floor Free internet access office off of reception. Stayed 3 nights. Good choice of international tv channels.
