Foi minha primeira vez em San Francisco e estava um pouco apreensivo, mas tive uma GRATA SURPRESA. Hotel antigo mas MUITO BEM conservado, localização ESPETACULAR perto de tudo, o bondinho passa na porta....os quartos são um pouco pequenos, mas isso é compensado pelo conforto dos mesmo, internet DE GRAÇA, e o melhor de tudo produtos L'OCCITANE, sabonetes, […] cremes, shampoo e condicionador...à vontade!!! Queria tb deixar registrado, o MARAVILHOSO atendimento e atenção dos funcionarios do hotel, sempre alegres e dispostos a ajudar, em especial o sr. TONY, uma simpatia de pessoa... PARABENS!!! O Hotel tem ótima localização, é limpo e seus funcionários atenciosos. No térreo tem um bistrô que oferece refeições todos os horários, recomendo a tábua de queijos e pães com uma taça de vinho local.

excelente localização central, excelente hotel, limpo, moderno. Todos hoteis de SF tem estacionamentos muito caros, 40 a 50 dolares por dia. Já sabíamos disso, conseguimos nas proximidades por 20 a 30 dolares dia. Esse hotel tem apenas 2 vagas de parada de carro na frente do hotel, dificultando a saida e entrada com bagagem. O hotel é muito bem localizado para quem vai a São Francisco a primeira vez, pois fica ao lado da Union Square e permite fáceis deslocamentos para vários locais importantes da cidade. Em outra oportunidade, eu ficaria em um bairro menos "turístico", para conhecer mais a cidade "real". Os serviços agregados (wi-fi gratuita, possibilidade de impressão […] de papéis no lobby, bom restaurante, centro de fitness) criam facilitações importantes para a rotina da viagem. O quarto é funcional, mas o desenho dos banheiros é ruim. Fiquei em dois quartos diferentes, em dois momentos da mesma viagem e ambos os banheiros tinham banheiras/chuveiros apertados e apenas com cortina, o que caracteriza um desconforto que poderia ser alterado. Be careful of the additional hotel fees of $15/day for "convenience."

Villa Florence is a great value in a perfect location: San Francisco's Union Square. My stay was special because it was during the Christmas holiday season, but it should be nice year-round. I was charged an "administration fee." I was told that it was for the wifi. I like having the option of choosing the services I pay extra for! If I don't use it, I don't pay for it! Hotel was surprisingly good. It was older but clean and updated. I would highly recommend.

I booked this for my parents who have stayed at this property 20 + times. They love the location - easy to get to with the valet parking - easy to walk to cable car, shopping and restaurants. They love the restaurant in the hotel and the staff always treats them fantastic.

Every December, sometime before Christmas, my wife and I make a trip to San Francisco to shop, see a show, and spend the night. We have stayed at many hotels on/around Union Square and this is a fine example of an older hotel being maintained well. We enjoyed the location immensely. Easy parking is available at the Ellis/O'Farrell garage half a block […] away. We recommend this hotel. The hotel is very nice and conveniently located, but I was confused by the addition of extra charges when I checked out. I booked through Hotels.com and paid for my week long stay ahead of time via credit card and then when I checked out, I was asked to pay an additional administrative fee. This charge was not related to any thing I had used in the […] room, it was simply an additional charge for the room that I was not made aware of during the booking process. I am not sure if the fault lies with the hotel or if it is Hotels.com thing, but suffice to say, I was not terribly happy with this result. Buyer beware. Leia mais

We spend a night in SF during the week between Christmas and New Years every year with our oldest granddaughter who is 17 now. This year we stayed in a Family Suite at the Villa Florence. It was clean, convenient, and the service was very good. The room was a good size. The building is dated but as I said it was very clean. Was able to check in early this past Thursday and was grateful because I was sick. The only thing that offset this? Housekeeping knocking on the door THREE times and then wanting to have a discussion about the exact duration of my stay. When the incessant inquiring stopped I was finally able to get some much-needed sleep. In the morning I requested […] a late check out and was informed I could stay until 1pm without a problem and to make sure and get my car by 4pm to avoid additional charges. Was so appreciative of Gabriella allowing the late check out until housekeeping came knocking on the door another 2-3 times. The heater made so much noise we could hardly sleep. The bathroom was tiny, and the sink drained slow. Staff was great, the decor was excellent. the location was perfect. If they fix the heating issue I would gladly stay there again.

Villa Florence is first class in location, service and attention. Nonetheless, in our checking out, we were surprised by the charge of "hotel fees". It was a surprise because we've assumed that we had paid everything. These fees should be included in the price they announce when one books it.

We really like this hotel - this was our second stay there because our first stay was so great, however, this trip was a little different, in a not so good way. The first strike: when we checked in and first arrived in our room, we noticed that our bed linens were a bit soiled (it looked like someone spilled a little food grease on the sheets or something […] and didn't bother to change them because the bed was already made). The second strike: the water had to be shut off due to an emergency plumbing issue the morning that we were checking out. I know it's not the hotel's fault, but we were unable to take showers on the day of our departure. It was uncomfortable to have to sit on a plane unshowered. We were comped a couple of bottles of water to brush our teeth and one of the $15/day charges for internet... It just didn't feel like the hotel staff realized what an inconvenience it was - we didn't have the time to wait around for the water to come back on because we had to leave... We will be staying at a different hotel next time we are in San Francisco. Leia mais

Location was great, right off of Union Square. Small, clean room. But we had to pay $18 in hotel fees at checkout, on top of all the fees we paid when we booked the room. The fees were never disclosed to us. Also, a water pipe broke and we had no running water the morning we left.

I stayed here once before and had not dined at their restaurant downstairs. When I checked in I asked the front desk what they would recommend and the gentleman grabbed a menu and made several recommendations off their seasonal menu. The duck bolognese was outstanding. It makes me salivate just thinking about it.

I chose this hotel because of location. There are public computers and printers so we could check in and print out the boarding pass. At the check-out, they charge us $15/day for administration fee. Nice place but our room was over O'farrell st. With all the sirens and horns I didn't sleep at all and we were 6 stories up. A room facing the inside of the hotel would have been much better. Wouldn't stay again otherwise.

Location, Location, Location. This hotel is perfect for your next shopping trip. The rooms are small but clean, and have comfortable beds. They have a nice bar in lobby, plus the staff is very nice.

My daughter stay for a few days after Christmas, the location was incredible, steps from Union Square and Westfield Shopping Ctr. Walking distance from Bart, Cable Car and Muni Bus. The hotel was clean, and the employees were great, friendly and helpful. I read a few complaints about the room and bathroom size, yes they were on the smaller size but […] really who needs much bigger? All the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking valet was easy once you find the turn in. The room was prefect size and very modern. Also very clean! Great stay all together. Will definitely stay again!

Hotel was great, and a very typical San Francisco experience. Rooms / bathrooms are small, but much bigger than many I've stayed in in nyc / europe. There was some street noise, but again, not too bad for a typical San Francisco location. The $15/day service fee was annoying. Even though it is an old hotel it has a wonderful location and the staff are very well trained to be as helpful as possible. The rooms are renovated and there still remains the charm of an other era! Kuletos is a marvelous Italian restaurant next door. All in all it makes for a wonderful stay of 1 night or 1 week!

It is expensive considering tthe confort général or the hôtel.

Wonderful location of the hotel, kinda cozy rooms but very tiny bathrooms and congested. Only one person can fit in a bathroom at a time. Needs updating apart from that quite good.

The lobby is beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful. The room (2 doubles) is small, but the beds very comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, with no space for personal items - only real complaint. We asked for a quiet room and our room was an interior one on the 7th floor. It was very quiet. The location on Powell St. is perfect for Union Square shopping […] and the cable cars. Villa Florence offered us a beautiful and comfortable retreat from the day's busy schedule. The hotel management as well as the rest of the staff were most friendly and accomodating. We would definetly and have recommended it to all of our friends and relatives. Thank you providing us with a very fun, relaxing, and well needed respite.

We stayed here because of the location next to Union Square. The hotels was clean and recently updated. The rooms were incredibly small. BE AWARE they charge $17 a night for complimentary internet/gym fees. How do you charge someone for something that is complimentary? The world will never know. We were too tired to combat such ridiculousness.

Large stylish clean rooms RIGHT NEXT to Union Square. Bathroom was a bit small with large shower. My new hotel of choice (used to be Hotel Monaco but they are double the price, half the room size and several blocks from the square...not quite as stylish but certainly acceptable). I honestly did not mind that this hotel was literally in the heart of all the shopping madness of DTSF...what I did mind was that they did not have any Valet guys waiting in the front to park guests' vehicles. I called ahead of time to get a valet guy to wait outside since there wasn't any parking, but when I arrived in the front, there was nobody there. […] Took another 45minutes just to get back to the front of the hotel...and once again I called for the valet and he was still not there. I ended up leaving my car with the bellguy across the street from the hotel while he waited for a valet guy.... he was the most helpful employee throughout that whole night...Checking in was fine...getting to my room meant waiting for a 3x3 elevator. There was only one elevator working so there was a line just to get in. Blahblahblah...we get in our room..it looked super cute. We were cold so we turned on the heater that just blew out cold air..tried getting under the covers but they only give you thin blankets with no comforter..if we didn't have our Raiders blanket, we would have froze to death. The next day, we called the front desk to have our car out by 10am...it wasn't there....took about 30min to check out because there was only one lady working the front desk while there were five people waiting..I complained about being cold last night and Cora just gave me this "aw, i'm sorry (i dont care)" type voice..whatever...luckily our car finally arrived around 1030 right when I finally finished checking out.... We stayed at the comfort inn in oakland for half the price I paid for at the Villa Florence, and we had a BETTER experience. I wouldn't come back here. Leia mais

Our room was located on a BUSY corner! If you like to sleep at night ask for an interior room. We were extremely happy with EVERYTHING else at this hotel/location.

Good deal on the room rate. Was just a one night stay. Great USQ location if you are stuck in the downtown hotel ghetto. They have improved the rooms, but service and amenities are still wanting. 2 tiny elevators, one of which went down on the big full weekend before Xmas. Thankfully was on a lower floor. Tourist mania, if that is a problem for you. […] Anyway, for a cheap, quick stop option, can't really complain, but for longer term stay, given conditions here, I would not be able to recommend. Again, great for quick stay at attractive rate if you are on a budget and don't intend to linger. Otherwise, move on, as there are a great number of better hotels in the area that are not much more expensive. Leia mais

I'll list pros and cons for you... Pros: 1. GREAT GREAT LOCATION! Hotel is literally a block or two away from everything. 2. Beautiful lobby and restaruant. Didn't eat at the restaruant but probably would have been a good experience. 3. Customer Service. Everyone was very friendly. Cons: 1. Horrible vallet service. They have only two spots infornt […] of the hotel which is understanable due to it's prime location but the part that I had a problem with is there managment of those spots. We drove around union square for nearly half an hour waiting for a vallet spot to open up. Repeatedly called the hotel to infor them we were waiting to park and they told us to just keep driving around! Finally we parked in the vallet across the street which we were most likely not allowed to do and fortunatly did not get a ticket or towed. Upon checkout it took almost an HOUR to get my car back to the hotel. This is totally unacceptable for any hotel especially on of this calliber. 2. Uncomfortable Room. We were conveinently given a handicap room which as we all know, while well equipped for the handicap, is not comfortable for the non-handicap. Room was very small and had a brick wall for a view. Now I understand that this is SF and space is at a premium so I will give them a little reprieve on this point. Also, I did not ask the hotel for a different room so they may have been accomidating if I had...but can't know for sure. Hotel room and hallways had an old musty smell to them. Noticable when you first step in but fortunaltly you quick get used to it. Our TV, while large, was a PAIN to use! Remote did not work and the replacment we asked for was not much better. TV default volume was like 80% of max so everytime you turned the tv on you were blown out of the bed! Channel selection was minimal...I think we got 8. 3. Expense parking. This is a great hotel, but my room (a single double bed) was very small--the room wasn't much larger than the bed. If you are a single person staying here, go ahead and get a room for two so you have a little room to move. This hotel is close to Union Square without the Union Square hotel prices. That said, note that by the time you add in all of the miscellaneous FEES charged by Hotels.com (tax recovery charges & service fees) and the hotel itself (resort fee) upon checkout, your "average price" per night will INCREASE by 40%! Although the Hotels.com listing shows "free […] wireless internet, coffeemaker, etc." included in the room details, the hotel charges an "administrative fee" upon checkout for "wireless internet, coffemaker, business center and exercise room" (none of which we used). I wasn't sure where to stay when I was planning a trip to see the Nutcracker. This was the PERFECT place. It is right near Union square- so the Christmas tree and Ice skating were about 1 block away. We parked in the Ellis parking garage which is only 1/2 block away- very convenient!! Macy's was only 1/2 block away. We drove to the Nutcracker in less […] than 10 minutes. All of this was in a very safe, heavily populated area. I drove by the place I was going to stay and thanked my lucky stars that we didn't book there. We will DEFINITELY be back. Love the location, lobby snack bar & having kulettos right there. the rooms feel a bit worn & need updating. But that's why the price is right, so it works for me
