Raffaello Hotel - Chicago

Very expensive for a teeny tiny room. Could barely walk around the bed. Using the bathroom was difficult and shower splashed throughout because of no door or curtain.

This is the more expensive hotel in Chicago if you compare the size room, is toooo smaaallll,, noise everyday, if your neighbor coughs you think he is inside,,,DISASTER...

I stayed here for four nights while attending a conference at the McCormick Center. I elected for a suite because I was hosting some business meetings in my room. The rate was favorable compared to comparable facilities at other hotels and the room was perfect. My guests commented that the room was much better than the Hyatt Regency. It takes about […] $14 to get the convention center so its not too bad. Only downside is that the bar is really small. Its not a place to network in the lobby. If you want that, you need a bigger hotel. Ler mais

Hotel had excellent location and decent price for downtown hotel. Not own restaurant, but room service if needed. Nice and spacious rooms

having to pay for wifi in the room seems to be of another era. Fortunately, you still can go down to the lobby and surf for free. Water was lukewarm; no included breakfast.

The location is great but the hotel was a little run down. The heater was not working, but they fixed it promptly. Elevator takes some time and is very small. Overall it is a nice hotel but not a four star.

Good hotel, clean room, large bathroom (handicapped accessible). Only disappointing since 4 stars... would have expected a bit more.

There are many hotels in the downtown Chicago area; the Raffaello has seen better days. It is adequate but the room I was in needs work; it was worn, no chair to sit in other than a desk chair. I would not be in a hurry to come back.

The Raffaelo is a very nice hotel. It is small, but efficient and comfortable. When in Chicago my purpose is either business or shopping. There is no need for a large, formal lobby or fancy bar. All such amenities are within two blocks and Michigan Avenue is right there. The staff was friendly and helpful. Cabs were always close by. It would be hard […] to find a better value. Very comfortable, quiet, clean. Walking distance from Northwestern Medical Center. Walking distance to subway. Would stay there again.

We read lots of good reviews about this place, and they were accurate. We were upgraded to a suite, which was spacious and nice. The Hancock Tower, a 1000 foot tall building with an observation deck, is basically right next door -- very convenient. Michigan Avenue, aka the Magnificent Mile, is a block and a half away, also very convenient. We did a […] fair amount of walking to several places we wanted to visit, but I guess that's just par for the course in a city like Chicago. The concierge, Jared, was very helpful and friendly. He made our stay much more enjoyable. I think I remember at least one review saying something bad about the concierge at this hotel. I can't imagine how they could have been talking about Jared. The only real criticism is of the hotel bar. We each got 1 drink, Knob Creek, on the rocks. The price for each was $12 for the whiskey + $2 for ice. $2 for ice? Please. It would have been easier to stomach if they had just charged $14. Ler mais

I love the Raffaello. I stayed here for personal and business for 3 nights, and the location was perfect. I was able to walk to restaurants and shopping with ease. Highly recommend!

I wasn't sure about this hotel, never heard of it and wasn't sure of the location..I was so happy when we arrived here. I have never been treated so great. Everyone at this Hotel is wonderful and helpful,. Gave us a map and Michigan Ave is about 2 blocks. They kept out luggage even on the day we left. I will stay here again, as we are making plans for […] a spring trip. They even offer a discount for the next time we stay. This is a must stay hotel in Chicago. Ler mais

I spent 3 nights in Chicago with my daughter at this boutique hotel and it was overall pleased with our stay. The room size was great ( requested two double beds) and bathroom which was also of a good size displayed a vanity with chair ( a must for women to put their make up and do hair) . Our room was clean, beds were very confortable and the room […] included a microwave oven which came handy for us to reheat our delicious gourmet food from the previous night out. The hotel location was excellent just one block from Michigan Ave, surrounded by lots of restaurants and shops, and also one block away from the place where you take the double decker to go sightseeing. The hotel loby was a bit of disappointment, small and not impressive . We requested for a late check out and ended up having to pay a small fee which could have been waved since it was sunday and not a week day (business day). There were no breakfast in the hotel but we did not care as we were closed to several options outside the hotel. Recommend this hotel for a cozy stay. Ler mais

I love the location and boutique-iness of this hotel. My room was HUGE and was wasted on me, a business traveler who arrived at midnight and checked out at 7A. My only complaint was that the service was pretty average (I would have expected more from such a beautiful hotel). I checked my bag with the bellboy/valet in order to head to breakfast (another […] drawback, they don't have a restaurant that serves breakfast, just room service). When I returned, there was no one there to retrieve my bag, and when I asked the front desk to help me, they disappeared but never called the bellman to help me. 10 minutes later, I finally flagged down the valet guy who took 5 minutes to get my bag - this, of course, all happening when I was in a rush to get out. I would come back to this hotel and chalk my experience up to a fluke. Ler mais

Nice Hotel, however for the ladies no bathtubs nice neighborhood, easy walking distance to most areas Room Service was somewhat disappointing. Cannot get breakfast, coffee etc until 7.00 am For a business traveler this is rather inconvienent Coffee machine in room did not work

This hotel was perfect: perfect location, service, and the room wa gorgeous and HUGE! We were very pleased, to say the least.

Wonderful boutique hotel on a very busy weekend. Free upgrade to a deluxe king suite which worked out perfectly for our group of 3 adults. Would highly recommend this hotel.

very DISAPPOINTED TO LEARN AFTER OUR ARRIVAL THAT THERE WERE NO BATHTUBS ON THE PROPERTY ON SHOWERS. FOR A FOUR STAR HOTEL THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. LOCATION WAS FINE, STAFF NICE . WOULD NOT STAY THERE BECAUSE OF THE NO BATHTUB SITUATION.

this hotel is in a great location. staff were very helpful and friendly. will definitely be coming back to chicago and will stay here again. would definitely recommend this hotel.

When we checked into the hotel, they told us the room wouldn't be ready until 4pm. When we got to the room, it was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. It felt like a closet. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. Other than location, there was nothing to recommend.

my wife and I really enjoyed the Raffaello. Convient to shop and sightsee. We found the staff very helpful. If we went to Chicago again we would stay here.

Can't beat the location and the deluxe suite was comfortable. However, we had less than stellar service from all of the front desk persons and room service. The concierge was okay, but his lunch recommendation has not good, room service and luggage took forever, and the quality of the morning coffee was very poor (and very expensive). Modern, clean, friendly, great location. It was the lowest cost hotel on the day we stayed, but it was better than many others that cost more. We will make this our regular Chicago hotel if the prices stay good.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights on our first trip to Chicago and loved it! It was very nice, good value for what we paid, and when issues arose the staff was more than happy to resolve them. I am a very picky person but would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was clean, quiet and in a great neighbourhood.

Small complaint. right across the hall from the elevator and of course people coming and going after midnight were very loud. Should have asked to be moved but to repack and move elsewhere too much of a hassle. Concierge was extremely helpful. Close to many restaurants that were excellent.

Great location. Weekend staff not very friendly. A definite change when Monday rolled around. Very quiet rooms, very clean.

The hotel is a good location - great shopping and restaurants. However, the hotel room was toooooo small, for 2 adults. We felt like we were in a box.

We went to the Rafaello for Labor Day weekend. We had been there a few years ago after their renovation, so we knew it was nice. We had a smaller (standard) room this time, but it was still well-appointed. The bed was very comfortable and I liked the little space between the bath and the bedroom for the mini-bar and dressing area. Other things I like: […] wonderful Gilchrest and Soames bath products! I liked that they didn't skimp and give you 2:1 shampoo:conditioner - I hate that. Towels were o.k., and we had plenty. For a four star hotel, we did not receive any additional amenities such as a shower cap or mending kit, however. The t.v. was great and we got an upgraded cable package with AMC and extra channels. Temperature was easy to control in the room and did not drift (which is sometimes a problem). Ler mais

overall high marks and convenience for this gold coast boutique. pleasantly surprised to receive a "suite" upgrade. unfortunately, the loud swoosh of toilet water every few minutes was a distraction we could have afforded to lose. yes loud "system-wide" plumbing sound was annoying to say the least, with no options made available by the front desk.
