Small but clean room, Very good breakfast.

I was traveling alone on business, and did not need a large room. Fortunately, because this was one of the smallest rooms I've ever seen! However, it was very comfortable and a great price. there was no air conditioning in my room but they provided a fan. This was actually better than the hotel I had just come from, which had air-con that didn't work very well. I could point the fan right at me, and stayed very comfortable.

Room was too small. There is no desk to work with Laptop. Wireless connection was available but password lasts 12 hours only, so I have to get a new password on the folloing day. It was so humid day but air conditioning was not available as per normal old german hotels. A small fan was equipped but the outlet is limited when I was working with Laptop, I have no way to use the fan. However, breakfast was very much delux with many varieties, from cheeze, hams, sausages, various jams, yogurt etc etc. It was fantastic!

only problem was that there are only 4 parkin spaces and even if you reserved one there might be someone in the spot if you return to the hotel t0o late!!

Small rooms but very nice staff.

It's tiny and cheap. The staff was great, pretty good English all around. three doors down from the amazing Schumacher Brewery and a quick walk to the Altstadt and Koenigsallee. Great breakfast. Oststrasse can be a noisy street, but that's not the hotel's fault.

The Monopol Hotel is typical of European hotels with small rooms but for the price I wouldn't expect more. The bathroom was private and not shared as in some hotels. It was very clean. The staff was helpful, this was useful given that my German is minimal. The TVs were small CRTs but that's fine as I don't watch TV. My bed was a single, I assume they have larger beds when there is more than one person. The breakfasts were great with a large variety of bread, cheese, eggs, sausage, cereal, yoagart, juices, fruit etc. This hotel is centrally located near the Dusseldorf train station, subways and Alstat (Old Town). I recommend this hotel to the budget consious traveler.

For people that like to walk, the hotel is well placed, as it is not far from the main train station, with the Rheine, Alstadt etc a little further, but enjoyable distance. Coffee facilities available at reception, so take travel kettle if req'd. Rooms are on the small side but fit for purpose.

The hotel was clean, cramped and old fashioned. Staff were just short of rude. Breakfast was "acceptable" no more. Giving a run down impression. I would not reccommend anyone to stay here. Better over the road at the Best Western Savoy.

Op doorreis naar Frankfurter Messe hebben we een tussenstop gemaakt in Düsseldorf. Prijs- kwaliteit verhouding van het hotel is erg goed. Ontbijt was incl. in de prijs; o.h.a. is dit excl. Inrichting gedateerd maar wel gerenoveerd. Badkamer had iets schoner gekund. Even douche gordijn checken als je er bent. Rustige kamer, goed geslapen. Op loopafstand van de 'Altstadt en de Köningsallee'. Met deze prijs houd je nog iets over om elders te besteden.

Prima locatie om de binnenstad te bezoeken, goed te lopen en hoewel weinig eigen parkeerplaatsen ( 4) twee parkeergarages in de onmiddellijke nabijheid. De etalage/gevel is ingericht door een kunstenaar en doet daardoor koud en ongezellig aan, jammer en niet representatief voor de warmte en netheid van het personeel. Prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is redelijk.

God frokost og hyggelig betjening. Litt bråkete rom mot gata, men helt stille mot bakgården. Sentralt.

Mycket prisvärt hotell. Särskilt lade vi märke till personalen som var väldigt trevlig och mycket "service minded" - ALLA som vi träffade var generösa och hjälpsamma. Vi kommer att tipsa alla våra vänner som åker till Dusseldorf om Hotel Monopol!

Nettes Personal, allerdings oberflächliche Reinigung des Zimmers. Betten bequem und sauber. Geruchsbelästigung durch Abluft der Küche. Frühstück inklusive und in Ordnung.

Lekker dicht bij het centrum goed te lopen, (ook snachts na het stappen). Goed ontbijt erbij (als je tenminste op tijd bent.. minpuntje). Kamer netjes!
