"Adolphus dropped the ball"
When we arrived in our room for two we found one towel and no washcloths. Two hours after calling housekeeping we had to call again to ask for the items to be delivered. We also had to ask for a hair dryer to be delivered. The windows were very dirty. The chairs were old and musty.
"Don't be fooled by the reputation"
Possibly the WORST customer service I ever received at a hotel, much less a 4 Diamond hotel. No bellhop available. No offer to help load luggage cart. No local car service as promised. Told afternoon tea was completely booked however there were numerous available spaces. Housekeeper entered the room during our nap despite the Privacy sign on door. And […] to top it all off: no OnCommand TV service available at our time of stay. The engineer took the flat screen TV off the wall and set it on the floor never to return. Even the manager, upon our complaint, admitted our experience was below expectations and our service was "absurd." It is shameful this so diminished our holidays. "History In This Hotel Amazing"
Gosh, We sure Loved our stay!!! We stayed several days, and we had two rooms... We All sure enjoyed our stay!!! Loved the Large Suites a lot of room!!! "Great location and good service"
We chose this hotel to be close to 45 to head to Houston on Christmas morning. We were greeted upon arrival and helped to our room. The room wasn't outdated but you could tell by the bathroom that the fixtures, tub, plumbing were older. It was nothing we couldn't look past, seeing as there was good water pressure and no noise from surrounding rooms. […] The bed and pillows were comfortable. "Great hotel in an unappealing city"
When we checked in we saw that the hotel is actually much nicer than the website photos make it appear. The lobby is spacious and luxurious, and so was our room. Much better than we had expected, and really very comfortable. Breakfast, though, is only a la carte, and only few guests were eating there which may have something to do with the prices. - […] The hotel's location is not really bad, at least it seems reasonably safe. DART metro and bus terminal are nearby. It's not the hotel's fault that downtown Dallas is so utterly soulless, charmless, and unappealing, with little more than office towers and a few fastfood outlets around. Enjoyable stay. Clean comfortable room. Breakfast in the Bistro hotel restaurant was understaffed, thus very slow, although this may have been only a temporary problem. Courteous service.

This hotel is a truly beautiful gem. The room was quite large and the beds were very, very comfortable. The bathroom was also huge. If there were one place for improvement, I would suggest only that the bathroom fixtures, toilet & bathtub should be replaced. The bronze fixtures were dull looking (bathtub spout was loose), and the brown toilet/tub were […] quite out of date (they should be white). I registered for a king-sized bed but received double beds. It was our anniversary and the double bed was very disappointing to say the least.

The internet service was down for my entire stay, the hotel bar was closed. The guest room was poorly lit, and the tub dirty. I requested a king sized bed, and recieved two queens instead. I will not be going back any time soon!!!

First lets start with the good. The location of the hotel is prime. When you walk in to the hotel the decor and atmosphere is A+. You get to your room.... Clean comfy bed and spacious. Now the bad. Pricey. $24 a night parking. Took valet 45 min to bring me my car one night. The heater in the room blew cold air. We froze both nights during our stay. We stayed here for a conference downtown and had a wonderful stay. The architecture of the hotel is opulent and pretty. The only drawback is parking. It is all valet and expensive.

Great classic, historic hotel in heart of downtown Dallas. Attentive staff, nicely appointed rooms - great feel. Stayed several times with same great results. Will stay again!
Great Hotel! We have stayed there many times and is our favorite in Downtown. Everyone is so nice and helpful.

The staff of this hotel is excellent BUT this does not include the parking folks. Took 20 minutes to get my car--not because they were busy, but because no one felt like retrieving it. My room was street (Commerce) side and on the 6th floor. Too much street noise. I will have to ask for higher floor if on the street in the future. Overall I like the Hotel. It is a little dated and my room had no view but it was very comfortable. I did have a problem at check-in. They could not find my reservation. I showed them my conf. # and that did not help they still could not find it. They finally discovered my name was misspelled. The Adolphus in Dallas Texas. The location was ideal for walking in the downtown area. Staff was very helpful. High tea was very nice. The water in our room was warm at best. The bed was uncomfortable. Tv location wasn't placed well in the room. No pool however there is an option to go to the pool next door for a fee. The told us we bad a nice view […] when we checked in. I had never step foot in Dallas, so was pleasantly surprized when the shuttle dropped me at the Adolphus. Lovely antique details throughout and the place was very clean and neat. Unfortunately the executive suites at the Adolphus are merely a slightly larger room with a half wall and a couch on the other side. Not a true suite with ability to close off part of the room. This hotel is centrally located in Downtown Dallas. We walked down the street to a big park in the morning. I was looking forward to staying at the Adolphus because I like old hotels like this. The Lobby of the hotel is very impressive. Not enough help at the front desk when checking in. Room was larger then most rooms I am used to. Room was noisy, I think it was the AC unit. The valet service was below expectations. If I pay $24 a day I expect the valet […] to be a little nicer. "Adolphus Dallas - sophisticated regal style"
Arriving at the Adolphus I was greeted by Stacey at Reception - who was fantastic. The hotel did not disappoint. I love the old grandeur style and even Queen Elizabeth + Prince Philip from the UK had stayed here. For me the rooms were spacious and very comfortable. I was in the older part of the hotel and loved the decor. The shower unit was a little […] slow at delivering hot water but other than that everything was great. The Bar was fab and I had breakfast in the cafe - food great although I wasn't that enthused with the service. But elsewhere it was fantastic. Really dark and old feeling. View out of window was brick wall, temperature in room very hard to regulate. Either too hot or too cold. Could see light through hallway through gaping gap under door. Could hear just about anything going on outside.

We were in Dallas for a football game coming from Missouri. We LOVE the history of the Adolphus, being fans of the Busch legends. Love the charming hotel, the chandelier that mirrors the one at the stables in St. Louis, and the cowboy bar was fun. I do think the other bar definitely needs some updating and renovations.
