Embassy Suites Kansas City - Plaza - Kansas City

Love this location and the usual amenities of Embassy Suites, free cocktails and breakfast cooked to order! Front desk, catering, and sales provided awesome customer service. They even gave me a great referral for a mani-pedi and drove me there in the shuttle - felt so VIP!

We were very happy with our room, the staff and just about everything. Location wasn't the greatest for us as it required more driving than we wished for... but the rate was very good!

The exit system from this hotels parking lot is very troublesome. One must us a separtate card from the door key. The cards never seem to work and even when they do one must exit your car to reach the box to insert the card. Why a card to exit at all? Hotel is fine but this big inconvenience will keep me away.

the hotel and room was great. Nice decor! If there for the free breakfast & drinks in evening, be prepared for long lines and not enough staff to serve! They try but understaffed for the amount of guest that stay here!

Spent one night on the 6th floor of this hotel. The two room suite had ample space. The bathroom was in the main bedroom instead of in-between the adjoining areas, which was a bit of a nuisance if someone in the other room had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. The parking spaces in the garage are pretty tight. The pool area is lovely, […] but the sauna was barely warm. The evening manager's reception had chips/salsa and popcorn, and the free drinks were just okay. Breakfast was very good - omelets, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits/gravy, pancakes, as well as a variety of fruit and pastries. The breakfast is simply FANTASTIC.

Beautiful hotel with excellent proximity to the Plaza and Westport. If you have kids, they have one of the best hotel pool we've ever seen! Rooms are spacious, Food is good, and service was great!

We rented two rooms as we traveled with our adult children. Service was excellent and facility was great. Breakfast staff went out of their way to take good care of us!

This hotel is excellent, particularly if you are traveling with family. Beware that the balconies are not accessible anymore though. The breakfast was great and features made to order omelettes. The rooms are spacious and clean, and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

When you book on hotel.com, there is an added charge of 10-15$ per day for parking that they do not tell you about when checking in, BEWARE.

Embassy Suites is close to the Country Club Plaza district and they have a courtesy shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up within a 2 mile radius so that you don't have to drive. The room was exceptional, very clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Would definately stay there again.

Had a wonderful time !! Had a nice warm swimming pool, a wonderful breakfast !! Beats the Marriott!!

Problems with room include: 1. Broken porcelain toilet cover(cracked in half sitting on back of toilet) 2. Toilet didn't flush properly 3. Sink took 30 minutes to drain after brushing teeth 4. Blankets for the pull out sofa were stained and rotting feeling with 1-2 inch size holes in them 5. A peach colored pill with the numbers 555 about a 1/3 inch […] in diameter was found when opening up the sleeper sofa under the mattress 6. An HBO guide that said HUNG with a naked man covering his private parts was sitting on the side table next to the sleeper sofa where my 10 and 11 year old children were going to sleep. I made the reservation for 2 adults and 2 children, this was highly inappropriate. 7. The shower curtain was missing a hook 8. At 6:46 pm the snacks for the managers's receptions was pretty much gone and it is supposed to last until 7:30. I didn't know it was a first come first serve reception, this is one of the reasons we chose Embassy Suites. 9. The Assistant General Manager offered the room at 1/2 price the morning we were leaving, but I said it was already taken care of. He didn't know the night manager had already offered a free nights stay. We have stayed at Embassy Suites before and never had this extent of issues. The worst thing has been pools that are too chlorinated that being in the pool area too long burns your eyes. This pool was good, just the room and reception was pretty displeasing, especially finding a pill in the pull out bed. I'm glad I found it and didn't have a toddler around who could have eaten it if they had found it. The night manager said there is always an inspector that checks each room after it is cleaned. This was our first time staying at the Embassy Suites. We were all satisfied with everything starting with our swift check in to our checkout. Everyone was friendly and treated us with respect. We would recommend them to everyone.

Byron in the breakfast area needs a promotion and a raise. Otherwise, the hotel was quite nice except for the expensive parking fees.

We ordered roomservice from the resturant and our steak was over cooked and dry, we had a brownie that needed to be cut with a knife it was so hard. It was aweful service from the resturant. We typically don't complain about stuff like this it was just really bad.

We got stuck in a smoking room at check in. It was super nasty and we literally got sick sleeping in it the first night. The next day they told us in the morning they would move us to another room by the time we returned from our day. We got back and the new shift had NO CLUE about the promise made earlier. They then finally found us a non-smoking room. […] When we asked to have a second comforter for the pull out bed they never showed with it. The pull out was literally like sleeping on a pizza box. VERY LUXURIOUS, GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT BREAKFAST

The first thing was the room smelled of mold and mildew. We haven't felt right since staying there. The remotes were dead, and the sofa sleeper mattress was paper thin and had a sheet on it that was full of crumbs and hair. I usually don't complain about sofa sleepers because of their nature, but I was able to feel every spring and crosswire in the […] thing. I would have done better sleeping on the floor! And on top of everything, they had the gall to charge $10 for parking in their lot. There were people circling for a space at 10pm. Not enough spaces to go around and they charge??? Have stayed at this Embassy Suites twice. Both times-just OK. Hotel needs some upgrades. The cocktail reception needs better snacks. The breakfast was below par. No bagels--really?! Free parking would be nice too, All in all--just OK.

The hotel staff was very friendly. I did hve a severe occurance with our room not being secured? We left to a concert and came back to our room, to find the door propped open by our window curtains? I was staying with moms and young girls We didn't feel safe and thankfully, nothing was taken? I had left many valuables in our room. The hotel did a security […] check and found no reason for the door to be open? The housekeeping person even noticed the door? He said he thought it was propped open for a reason? However. Really nice stay. Breakfast was awesome. Very Clean. I shall return....

I have stayed at other Embassy Suites and this one just didn't equal up. The air in the room had a strange order and the ac was very noisy. The quality and availabily of drink and food choices during the happy hour was not up to what I was expecting compaired to other Embassy's. When we return to Kansas city we will not be staying there.

We have stayed at this hotel for the last 4 visits to Kansas City this year with free parking, so we were surprised to find out that they started charging a daily rate for parking. I guess they are going the route of the airlines and starting to nickle and dime you on services. Having said this, parking is convenient under the hotel. Pool is great, […] breakfast is good. My family and I only stayed two nights which was fine by me. It is not that the hotel was "dirty" and I am sure that when new, it was much grander. The parking was adequate, when the gate was working, you just needed to make sure to miss the enormous pothole next to covered parking. The carpet in two of the three elevators were loose, and dirty. They […] did not give off the "i'm safe" vibe. The room was outdated with a flat screen in each room. The bathroom was TINY, with a sink in the suites bedroom and one in the main room. You had to really "jimmy" the bathroom door in order for it to shut. It looked as though the hinges were rusted straight through and barely hanging on for dear life. If you leave your room, you had to ensure that the door was closed as it would not completely shut on its own. In finality, it was just much more expensive than what it was worth. I have no problem with cost as long as the accomodations match. For instance: try the Tallbot in Chicago, you will not be disapointed!! Great location to access the shops and restaurants of The Plaza area and only about $10.00 cab ride to downtown party spots

My wife and I have stayed here several times over the summer and always have the same experience. It's a great place to stay, whether for business or pleasure. Highly recommended!!!

The only thing that bothered me was that it cost $10 to park in the hotel lot and this was not part of the room fee. Ethically I think that the hotel should have to let guests know this upfront.

The Hotel was 4 blocks from the plaza which is serval resturants and shops, and across the street from a nice jogging park. We had a wonderful stay the staff treated us like royality.

Thank you hotels.com for notifying the hotel of the late arrival. I am a event planner and have used Embessy suites in Ca quite often. When we arrived we were put in a room next to the elevator(two wemen) in an other wise not sold out hotel at 1pm in the morning. Coffee maker did not work asked to have it fixed or changed on our way out the next morning. […] Next night the mrico starting beeping and increased beeping until 7am until I got up and reset the clock.. Chose this hotel specifically as breakfast was served early. Was supposed to start at 6 am but didn't therefore went hungry first day of conference. The manager's reception was not the finger food as advertised but stale pretzels, liquor and bad punch. The hotel is within a couple of blocks of the Plaza however, it can be a little scary after dark. […] Park near hotel fills up with apparently homeless people after dark. Parking garage wouldn't let me leave after checking out early one morning. Had to go all the way back into the hotel to find and attendant to manually open the barrier. Hotel is cushy but what you need to make a business trip go well is promptness and attention to detail. *Filthy pool/hot tub water and constantly no towels (plus a dangerous "fence" separating shallow and deep ends that lots of kids were jumping off) *Our room cleaning was skipped one day. We left at 8:30 a.m. and returned about 4 p.m. (I double-checked that we removed the DND sign.) The cleaning cart was next door ... and then skipped us. That was OK; […] I merely asked for fresh towels. However, later, we received a hotel explanation that our room wasn't cleaned because we had a DND sign on the door, which was a lie. *Valet parking (@ $15/day) started OK, but rapidly degraded. Couple times, we had to wait a loooong time for our car; once, we were parked in because 2 of the valets were talking to a friend in a vehicle. We finally had to shout, "Hey, could you let us out?!" *Manager's happy hour advertised to last until 7:30 p.m., but the one day we decided to attend - at 6:45 p.m. - it was already shut down. *TV remote only semi-functional. *Little/no hot water one evening. Loved free drink tickets. Breakfast was excellent. Did not like paying for parking.

All and all, not a bad hotel. It is somewhat dated and the traffic flow at breakfast could be improved but the staff are very friendly and helpful. A good value for the price.

The Embassy Suites near the Country Club Plaza is in a perfect location. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast was plentiful and the bed was very comfortable. Roomy suite, too.

The hotel was very nice and very accomodating however, the parking was awful. If you don't pay the extra 5 dollars for valet then you're left to circle their one level parking garage 10 times or scour the outdoor parking lot in hopes to find a spot. They don't have enough parking to cover all of their guests. After circling the parking lot and garage […] many times we were told to park down the stree at the parking lot next door. I was not comfortable with this at all since the plaza westport area isn't exactly on the nicer side, with "park at your own risk" signs everywhere. On top of it we had walk back from this other parking lot in the rain. Just was not a good parking experience at all. But other than that my hotel stay was nice. Leia mais

The only thing I did not like was they say balcony suites but the doors are screwed shut. I must say the staff was very friendly and accomodating.I will stay there again.

Great free breakfast great location

This Embassy Suites is very comfortable and a most pleasant place to stay. Decent complimentary hot breakfast. Walking distance to fun neighborhood for walking, shopping and eating. Only complaints are that they would not allow an early check-in because we'd booked through hotels.com rather than through the hotel directly and the price is a little steep […] for Kansas City. Staff was extremely accommodating and switched rooms promptly when we found undesirable materials in the sofabed. We were given a free movie coupon, popcorn, soda and many apologies.
