The employees were all excellent and very helpful, with very good English skills. It was clean, and very nice. But it was very expensive! They charged us 10 Euros for a liter bottle of water! The rest of the food and beverages were also quite high, so we ate in other places. It was a long walk to some places, but the bus and tourist "hop-on hop-off" bus was close. Next time we would stay in a more central location.

Friendly staff, clean room/bathroom, comfortable beds and a great cocktail lounge! I will be going back to Berlin sometime soon and will be sure to use this hotel again.

The very best hotel for the money we've ever stayed at. Very pleasant and helpful staff, beautiful interior and exterior hotel and room decor, spotlessly clean, amazing breakfast. What more can I say - we were proud to tell people where we were staying. Believe me, we'll go back - partly because we love Berlin and partly just to stay at this hotel again.

Great staff, great service, and nice rooms.

This was our first visit to Berlin and the location of the Hotel was good for travel around a diverse city. The Hotel was smart although we went for three days and for two of those days the Pool and Spa were closed and we weren't advised. It didn't really bother us but it might have if the weather had been worse. The rooms were bright and very clean and the reception staff extremely helpful. Overall the Hotel was worth the money we paid to stay but they try to get their money out of you with high prices for all the extras. We would go back as we stayed well clear of the extra charges.

Beautiful decor, nice bars, super comfortable room, easy to get taxis. Only small problem-little distance to rail transport but not too bad if you don't mind a walk.

Staying at the Grand Hotel Esplanade was a relaxing experience throughout. The staff were pleasant and welcoming; from whisking your luggage away the moment you stepped out of the taxi, to making sure you were never without a drink whilst waiting in the lobby (whether you wanted one or not!) The rooms were spotless everyday and an accidentally broken bottle of rather expensive aftershave was immediately replaced. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the Tiergarten, so despite there always being a taxi waiting for you, a great deal of the city's sights are within walking distance. Harry’s New York Bar, located just inside the hotel, is also the perfect place to stop off for a cheeky cocktail (of which there are many to choose from) before heading back to your room. There are many ways to see Berlin, but if you want to do it in comfort and style, I would certainly recommend a visit to the Grand.

Outstanding room. Location not my favorite. Very expensive dinning. Some staff a bit abrupt.

As a family of four we ventured to Berlin for three days, two nights and booked two rooms. Hotel very modern, great relaxed feel and warm atmosphere; not too ultra modern but uber trendy & comfortable. Rooms well appointed, very clean, bright with lots of natural light. Concierge & reception could just not do enough to welcome you; very helpful for restaurants and travel tips around Berlin. Waiting staff and spa staff were a little 'cooler' to guests but did their job. Breakfast was expensive but a great choice, decent quality and very filling! Our only gripes was the air conditioning is not cold enough (for us anyway) and their is no fan speed control; whilst the pool is free and enjoyable there is an extra charge of 9 euros per persom per day for the sauna! At 36 euros for four people to go into the sauna for 20 minutes this is very expensive. There is also no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms (but this is so english of us!). Despite these minors we will go back and will heartily recommend this hotel to everyone!

Great hotel - would recommend to anyone and was very good value. Isnt right in the centre of Berlin, but wasnt too far to walk. Service, room etc were all very good.

great hotel good location, good value

Stayed at the Esplanade for one night with my two boy's while heading north through Germany and the hotel was a very nice hotel in a nice area but was a bit away from the typical tourist sites we wanted to see such as the Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Wall but with a 7 Euro taxi ride we were at these areas no problem. The hotel was very clean and comfortable but had a bit of a snobby feel to it as the other guests seemed to think they were in a class above our group (just my perception). Great indoor pool and workout room and the hotel restaurants serve good meals but on the pricy side. I most likely would stay there again if I return to Berlin.

I stayed here in march 08 for 5 days with my wife and daughter. This was my second stay at the esplanade and may not be the last. I have stayed in many of the other 5 star hotels in berlin such as kepinski, radisson and concorde but i believe the esplanade to be the best all rounder. Its location is not ideal if you want to walk to the Ku'dam or friedriechstrasse, but if you dont mind taking a 6 euro 5 minute taxi ride (taxis always in front of hotel) then this is the hotel. If you can, try and book a junior suite, it is worth the extra money to have the view & balcony & extra space. incidentaly, you will have to book a junior suite if you want the space for a childs bed in your room. The hotel staff i found to be great, especially when we asked for off the menu room service meals for our child, they accommodated us no problem. The gym and pool area is not huge, but big enough and kept in first class condition. Overall i liked the style and decor and found the hotel not to be lacking in any area to any great degree. Defenitely worth a stay, and great value for the money.

A hotel's quality cannot only be judged by its initial service, but also by the way they handle exceptions. The AC system in my room broke down and I called assistance. A service technician was on the spot right away and was handling the situation very professionally. It showed that the AC could not be repaired that evening, so I had to change rooms. Again, the whole process was handled extremely satisfactorily by efficient and competent hosts.

Et helt perfekt værelse i eksklusive rammer. Gode parkeringsforhold i egen parkeringskælder, - som dog koster ekstra, men rigtig flot indkørsel til hotel og god service.

Grosses Zimmer und Bad, schöner Wellness- und Fitnessbereich, tolle Bar und sehr gutes Restaurant, freundliche Rezeption, leider unter den Betten noch Abfall des Vormieters gefunden

Ligger vid Tiergarten, nära till parken, bussar till Krautzberg, Alaxanderplats, Centrum, och Zoo/Akvarium, Legoland rakt runt hörnet. Hotellet har en liten och bra pool för lek och morgondopp. Stora rum med TV. Dyrt, men om man reser med barn (4 och 6) spanderar man ju tid på hotellet, och vi gjorde rätt i att lägga litt extra på boende. Berlin är fantastisk!

Hotellets standard var mycket bra. Dock kostade allt förutom rummet onödigt mycket. Simning i poolen var gratis, men bastu kostade 9€/person och dag vilket kändes väldigt dyrt. Frukost skulle kosta 25€/pers och dag vilket också blir dyrt för 3 personer och en vecka. Dock trevlig och hjälpsam hotellpersonal.

Skønt hotel med dejlige store værelser. Hotellets placering i forhold til byens serverdigheder er helt perfekt, man kan gå til alt!

Hög servicenivå.

Fantastisk standard på værelsets kvalitet og faciliteterne. For tre personer gav vi næsten det samme for morgenmad og parkering som en overnatning, men maden er overdådig og velsmagende, og bilen bliver kørt i garagen af en ansat, så det er alle pengene værd. Hotellet ligger i et meget stille ambassade- og hotelkvarter, hvor der ingen billige morgenmad-cafeer er, så der er ingen alternativer i nærheden. Vær forberedt på at gå de ca. 10 min. til nærmeste U-bahn, så er det skøn luksus at overnatte på Grand Hotel Esplanade

Det er adskiller luksushoteller er deres måde at håndtere eventuelle problemer på. Esplanade er i den bedste kategori. Vi havde booket dagen forinden og hotellet havde ikke modtaget bookingen fra hotels.com endnu. Men det tog maks 5 minutter så var problemet løst og sådan var det hele vejene igennem - altid en hurtig og kompetent løsning lige meget hvad det drejede sig om. Vi kommer igen, svømmer får massage, en drink og fantastisk service.

Ett mycket prisvärt hotell som har god service och frukost. Hotellet ligger på gångavstånd (ca 15 min) från både potzdammer platz och shoppingområdet. mysigt med pool

Fine rom, god service og grei beliggenhet.

Vi var yderst tilfredse med værelset og betjeningen generelt. Dog var morgenmaden ekstremt dyr - sandsynligvis årsagen til at de kan holde prisen på værelserne på et fornuftigt leje..

Fantastisk Hotel samlet set. Følgende var dog mindre godt. Vi bestilte morgenmad på værelset, hvilket absolut ikke var de mange penge værd. Ligeledes havde vi betalt ekstra for et værelse med udsigt til vandet. Dette en en "halv" sandhed. Ønsker du et ikke ryger værelse, kommer man ikke op hvor man kan se vandet, men man har kun udsigt ud over et kedeligt tag...... så betal derfor ikke for dette. Sluttelig må man slippe 9 euro for at bruge deres sauna.....pr. hoved måske også lige frisk nok. Ellers kommer vi gerne igen, super beliggenhed M & J - København

Superklasse, jedoch sinkt die Servicequalität mit dem Åersonal des Restaurangs Ecke. Restliches Personal einfach Spitze!!!!!!!!

Syggt rent o intressant design hotell. Frukosten ett måste om man har gott om tid, den var helt fantastisk!!!! vi vill gärna komma tillbaka till det här hotellet och Berlin.

Bodde en långhelg här och det levde verkligen upp till mina förväntningar och mer därtill. Trevlig lobby och bar, underbar frukost! Åker gärna tillbaka. Vi hade bokat en Comfort Suite som var jättehärlig! Hade bastu på rummet. Hotellets pool var dock lite kall.

Foreningsjentene var på tur. Hotellet var over all forventning. Kjempeflott, med gåavstand til det meste. Vi bor helt sikkert her igjen hvis vi kommer til Berlin.

Vi var fra start til slut imponerede over serviceniveauet, hjælpsomheden og den materielle standard!

Dejligt luksushotel med stor klasse. Venlig og kompetent betjening. Fantastisk aircon - 30 grader ude, men mere end behageligt inde

Et rigtigt dejligt hotel med enestående service. Hotellets værelser, restauranter og øvrige lokaler virker lækre i materialer og farver, og der er en dejlig stemning overalt man færdes! Lækkert pool- og motionsområde! VI fik en enestående service - og morgenmaden (ikke inkluderet!) var i top-klasse. Den eneste (lille!) mangel vi oplevede var, at vi savnede en tandstikker!!!

Morgenmad for dyrt på hotellet (24 eur) men der er masser af morgenmadsrestauranter i nærheden - især den australske i Sony center kan anbefales

Hotellet var efter min overbevisning af super god standard. De folk som arbejdede der, gjorde sit bedste for at levere en optimal service, så man som gæst, ikke følte sig overset på nogen måde. Hvis man kigger ud fra et økonomisk synspunkt, så var priserne faktisk meget rimelige, taget i betragtning af man befandt sig på et 5 stjernet hotel. Alt i alt, en super dejlig oplevelse, og jeg vil klart anbefale andre at spendere nogle dage på dette hotel.

Als Alleinerziehender mit zwei Kindern habe ich dieses Hotel für einen Berlin Besuch ausgewählt. Nicht nur meine Kinder waren begeistert. Super Ambiente, der Hotelpool war die Belohnung für die Besichtungstour am Tag, Frühstück war etwas teuer, Zimmer sehr gut ausgestattet.

Modern, zeer comfortable hotel, vriendelijke receptie die alle tijd neemt om dingen uit te leggen, ruime, fraai ingerichte kamer met perfecte badkamer.

Haben den Aufenthalt genossen, schöne Bar und sehr reizvolle Innenarchitektur.
