O hotel praticamente não tem nada ao redor, só um 7/11 que quebra bem o galho. Porém é muito rápido se deslocar de lá até qualquer lugar de carro; exceto Nova Iorque - pegue o trem. O quarto é limpo e confortável e os funcionários são educados. O café da manhã é simples, mas resolve. Pelo valor, vale a pena com certeza.

"Excellent!"
Everything was great, except for the bath/shower plumbing. This area needs upgrading and or repair. The staff were great!!!!! Definitely, a top notch place to stay! Thanks.

Room only had windows out to alley so was very dark. If you have older kids the queen sofa hide-a-bed was truly uncomfortable.

We had a great stay and it all started with a great hotels.com rate for a suite. And what a suite it was. The hotel was a bit tired, but made up for that with great location, perfect service and staff. On my daughters 10th birthday, they delivered a cake, a shake for her and champagne for my wife and I. Service was awful during our stay. Guest service would state they would take care of the services they did not provide and would not hear from them. I positively left a white blouse in the room and described it well to the manager and have yet to get a response to them finding it. Most unhappy with the service. What happened to my "Chico" white blouse??????? […] If I had gotten the room through the hotel itself.....would I have had better service???? Please let me hear from you ..you know my email address. Our junior suite was spacious. King double room for our sons was adequate. "Interior" room (which we had booked because it was supposed to be quieter) meant still having an outside window facing the block behind, not an airshaft. Service was prompt and courteous. Hotel is luxurious. No Privacy signs for doors and turn down service was not mentioned, so we had no idea they would come back in the evening. Everything else was exceptional. Location was perfect. Close to Central Park and Subway lines. We would stay here again for the right price.

"LOVED IT!"
This is a very nice hotel. I love their attention to detail on service. I would love to stay there again. I did have a problem. I left the "do not disturb" light on. Consequently, the room wasn't cleaned. I called at 3:00 PM and again at 6:00 PM. At 9:30 PM, the room wasn't cleaned. I spoke with Christine at the front desk. Great hotel in a fantastic location
"Old World Style with Flair"
This is a well-known luxury hotel that continues to live up to its reputation. Staff is friendly, professional and helpful. Guest rooms clean and well equipped. Location is superb. Nice bar bites menu in the hotel restaurant. If you want to splurge for a special occasion, you can't do better than the Essex House.
"Essex - Elegance at a decent price"
Great location, easy walk to time square and South side of Central Park. Three blocks from major Subway stop. Surprisingly affordable give elegance and location. Our room did not have a view, but we didn't miss it at all - we only spent the evenings in the room. It was small, but definitely large enough for our needs.

This hotel is at the very heart of Manhattan, on the park and close to the theater district and Columbus Circle. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms and facilities are wonderful. I'm VERY particular when it comes to hotels, and only two small issues prevented this from a perfect score: 1) my room was near the elevator 2) I asked for ice twice and it came about 2 hours later. Loved this hotel.

"An Art Deco Landmark on Central Park South"
The Essex House was every thing it claims to be; an elegant hotel with excellent services and amenities designed in the hallmark, mid-20th century Art Deco style. The location is perfect for those visiting New York City for the first time or seasoned travelers who want to stay in a more quiet, refined, personalized environment.

The classic Essex House was everything to be expected on Central Park South. I can't give the management credit but the weather was perfect for enjoying Central Park and the wide range of Museums along Park Avenue and convenient to the front door of the Essex whose landmark sign can be seen from anywhere in the park. The Junior Suite was spacious, the […] bed comfortable and luxurious and the bath was both elegant, spacious and nicely appointed. We did not spring for a park view room as we spent most of the day in it. Unfortunately, there was active construction going on on the 58th St. side of the hotel until late Saturday night. The lighting controls in the room were very cool but entirely too high tech and not clearly marked. There are many good restaurants within short walking distance of the hotel. I highly recommend Quality Meats for a good steak or chop. Overall our stay was a delight and i highly recommend it for a romantic getaway. Leia mais
"A disappointing stay for a Jumeirah 5 star hotel"
I stayed here last week and found it to be disappointing for a hotel with the Jumeirah name. The service of a five star hotel should be impeccable from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave - and the condition of the room should be 100% perfect. We got out of the taxi to find no help with cases anywhere near the door, we weren't offered assistance […] as we walked through the reception area either (struggling). The room itself was nice but small, as you'd expect for a NYC hotel. However, some basic maintenance issues made it disappointing again. The toilet flush mechanism was loose so it flushed forever unless you physically returned it to it's proper position. The tap was not fixed to the wall in the bath, meaning a huge gap where the wall was. The water pressure was also poor and not helped by the fact the shower head was broken and could not be fixed to point further into the bath, instead it hung loosely straight down. A smaller thing was the internet. $14 for 24 hours - most hotels in NYC and the rest of the USA offer complimentary wireless access. A disappointing stay for Jumeirah hotel. I was expecting so much more, instead it was on the same par as a large chain like Hilton and Radisson - but even they do better. Leia mais

What a wonderful walk/run in the park....then, to come back to the incredible breakfast at the Hotel! And, the convenience of having a driver take you to the show...all compliments of the hotel! A definite plus!
"Excellent, but ..."
We booked the Central Park Suite, and were a little bit disappointed, although it was still very nice. The north facing Central Park view was not full-on as expected, one corner window in bedroom faced the park, but a wall jutting forward on the right side blocked part of the view. All other windows (bedroom and in the den in the suite) faced west instead. […] And no telescope, as had been promised in the description. We had recently stayed at a Statue of Liberty view with telescope room at a hotel downtown, for much lower price, and my wife's comment upon surveying this room was, "I hope this didn't cost as much as that last suite we were in." The other had two full bathrooms, too, which was great for convenience and with our daughter staying with us and sleeping in the fold out sofa bed in the den. I told her yes, more expensive, but better location. Great area, walk to Park, plays, Times Square, Madison Ave. shops, and museums. And all staff very nice and helpful, I would definitiely stay there again, but might want to check with the hotel directly re which room location to ensure full north (Park) facing room if paying te premium price for this suite. The Hotel was very nice, service was excellent and the location couldn't be better. Right across the street is the 7th Ave South entrance to Central Park and Columbus Circle is just a few blocks down 58th Street.

The Essex House, long a staple on Central Park South, has been refurbished by the Jumeirah chain, located principally in the Arabic world, but expanding. My room was on a lower floor, so didn't have a view--but those above the 14th floor have truly wonderful ones of the park or rest of Manhattan. I've stayed at many hotels in NYC and this is one of the best; close competition to Carlyle. The Jumeirah is not a cookie cutter place and has plenty of space and modern-old style feel. Right across from Central Park, which is a great location and starting point for whatever you are doing - slightly more relaxed than Times Square area. "Great location but nothing special for the money!"
This was my 3rd stay at The Essex House. The location is divine, the front desk/concierge/bell service--fabulous. My disappointment with the property is that for the money spent they offer almost nothing by way of ammentities. No radio/cd player/MP3 docking station, but instead an old wind-up alarm clock that didn't even keep time as the batteries were […] old, no dvd for the tv, not even a small complimentary bottle of water like the lesser star hotels offer! Even the toiletries are bare bones--- just the basics. I didn't even get a plastic laundry bag in the closet to put my dirty clothes into. --This is basic stuff. Other NYC hotels that are lesser star rating offer turndown service, a simple mint or chocolate on the pillow, and ice filled for the evening. These are little things that would make it a 5-Star experience yet this hotel has yet to catch on despite my having left feedback before. I will not be spending my money here again. There are too many other properties in the area that are willing to give me more for my money. Unless you are happy with being 'underwhelmed' for the money spent, I suggest another 5 star property. "Weekend by the Central Park NYC"
Well positioned lodging to visit NYC Central Park and very economical for a 5 stars hotel. In short, a beautiful hotel for independent people who has no specific plans and wishes to enjoy a relaxing time either strolling in the park or taking a horse carriage trip. Overall value for the Essex House is very good. The things I found to be top notch were: the linens, the layout of the room (made the most of the square footage) and the generous closet space. The restaurant was convenient with a friendly professional staff. The unexpected negatives were: There is a $55 per day charge for valet parking which is disclosed […] up front but if you need your car during the day or night the charge doubles--$110 which was not disclosed until check out. "The Essex - not the same Jumeirah hotel elsewhere"
After staying at the Jumeirah Tower hotel in Dubai, I had certain expectations. It was not met at this NYC Jumeirah. Some parts in the bathroom were in disrepair and the service person took their time. Some complimentary limousine service was not available, though I requested such during a general time frame for the following day. After a long overseas […] business trip and coming to NYC, I was looking for a nice respite in a 'trusted' name. I booked the Essex for its superb location and clean bill of health from the bed bug registry. The hotel was quite nice but it was the outstanding staff that I will remember. Everyone I encountered was pleasant, professional and truly made me feel welcome. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top notch hotel.

"Essex House Hotel"
Overall, the hotel is beautiful , and in a very good location. We had an unfortunate experience, in that the hot water was not working in our shower. Since we were staying 3 days, I had completely unpacked all our clothes, upon arrival, but on the 1st day there I developed back spasms and so I was completely incapacitated. They offered to move our room, […] but since all the drawers and closet were filled, I couldn't easily move rooms. We did get room service for several meals, and they eventually fixed the shower, and the manager took off the charges for the room service and other fees. In addition to the shower problem the window shade broke, and the TV remote didn't work, but they fixed those promptly. I would stay there again in the future. Leia mais

What a marvelous place to stay. Across the street from Central Park and around the corner from some of the best shopping NYC has to offer. Staff could not have been more helpful or courteous. King Bed sized room was ample for an older hotel, many nice touches with lighting, mirrors, linens and pillows. Very clean and private. "Jumeirah Essex House - Central Park"
Great service, Great Location, near almost everything and the Subway is minutes away at each corner. Eat at restaurants on 58th which is the back of the hotel and its much cheaper then the hotel breakfast/lunch/dinner. Would recommed to everyone.

"The Good and The Bad"
Let me start by saying that the hotel is beautiful. It's in a gorgeous neighborhood with direct access to Central park and within walking distance to some of the best restaurants the city has to offer (Marea, Jean-Georges, Per Se). The room was very neat and clean. The bed was gigantic and was honestly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. […] Hotel or otherwise. The only real issues we had were that the door would stick and I had to push on it incredibly hard for it to open and that the toilet would run forever unless you held down the lever until the bowl completely emptied, which took a very long time. Not major things, just minor inconveniences. However, we did have one actual issue that ebars mentioning: we walked out the front door of the hotel and went to get in a cab. The doorman told us that the cab was taken and when I asked if he could get one for us he brushed me off with a "yeah" then turned his back and started talking to one of his co-workers about sports or something. We waited for a good minute or so, watching empty cabs drive by. Finally I just walked into the street myself to wave one down. But as soon as I stepped off the sidewalk with my arm up another person working the front of the hotel came and flagged one down for us. The first guy was rather rude. The second guy made up for it. Generally the staff was very pleasant to deal with, but that one experience left me a bit sour. Overall the experience was good. I'd recommend it if you can get a cheap rate, but I don't know if it would be worth paying a premium. For the price we paid I would have expected zero issues. Leia mais
